Garden of eden !

Everything !!! The place is very comfortable in every way. These folks absolutely get what it means to be in the hospitality business. Anyone wanting to get involved in this business needs to stay here for a few days. It's THAT good. The backyard is the most relaxing interesting place I've ever encountered, and I'll leave it at that....just WOW !

That I couldn't stay longer! But without a doubt, I will be back.

Location is great, near La Sabana. Full well equipped and organized kitchen. Lots of nice common areas. Exercise equipment. Very comfortable bed. Nice garden.

clean, comfy and lovely staff!

we stayed here 3 times on seperate occasions. the staff are lovely, it’s very homey, has a well equipped kitchen and lots of social areas. the bedrooms were comfortable, clean and they had a fan.

it’s quite a walk to the centre of town but only a short Uber ride

Most comfortable inexpensive hoste/hotel in San Jose!

I stayed in your auxiliary building and I did not participate in the breakfast, although I could have. The main point is that the rooms with their own bath and kitchen facilities, which were the only ones that I have used in several stays, are very large and comfortable compared to other hostel/hotels, and the beds are excellent. Terrific value for the money. Of course the location, 3 blocks from the National Stadium and Sabana Park, is excellent, especially for a person who likes both safety and the ability to walk/run in the mornings with other like-minded people. There are also several cute new restaurants and cafes without a few blocks that have various international or cultural themes. Your place is a treasure, keep it up!

Your sealed coffee and sugar bowls work fine for the coffee, but ants easily get into the same kind of bowls for the sugar. They walk through the place where the sealing handle is located. I put the sugar bowl in the refrigerador to stop the ants from streaming into the kitchen.

I 100% recommend this place.

We had a fantastic time at Casa Garibaldi Monteverde. The house had everything we needed. Enough rooms for all 5 of us (we were 3 adults and 2 children); 3 bedrooms in total in the house. The beds were comfortable and large; there was enough variety of blankets to chose from according to the weather. The house had no air conditioning and did not really need one, it was a pleasure to listen to the birds instead. There was a washing machine in the house, which we did not need to use (but can be very handy if needed). The view from front of the house was gorgeous. It was a very unique experience to sit to the private lookout early in the mornings and look around to the mountains surrounded by clouds!! Annie and Johnny did everything to make our stay pleasant. For this trip of ours we ended up not renting a car and forgot to inform the hosts about it (how smart, right?....). Well, Annie made sure that we always had a driver available to take us to our activities (5 people.... not 4!). She even used her own car once to drive us!! She is a very sweet person! Anything we needed we just asked Annie. We asked Annie for restaurants, where to purchase groceries, etc. She was always ready to help! I really recommend to ask Annie about activities weeks before your trip; she will make sure you get the best! If you like wildlife, I really recommend the night and day tours with Johnny. He is a certified natural guide and he knows a lot, a lot! Thanks to Johnny, we saw all sort of exotic animals in the forest on the first night in Monteverde. Just to mention a few, we saw a slot, two tarantulas, a toucan, a beautiful green snake (venomous of course), and many birds and a kinkajou (all these at the first night! My 7-year-old was really completely taken away). The next day, Johnny took us to a day tour animal watch. It was just unbelievable. Johnny was very quick to spot animals and through his telescope we saw rare exotic animals (quetzal, for example.

ok but would not stay again

comfy bed, well equipped kitchen with coffee machine. nice bathroom, very clean. ping pong table in the main common area. good location (safe).

the host did not tell us that we were in a separate building from the base. this felt slightly off as it was a whole street away and it felt isolating in an unknown city. we felt we should have be notified in advance. this meant we couldn’t enjoy the garden and communal space as much. noisy as next to busy road. no washing machine even though description said it would have.
