TOTALLY DECEIVED BY THIS APARTMENT

Not far from the old town

To start off, a lady called Marina who came to supposedly give us a warm welcome. She came in a rush, spoke quickly, didn’t give us much details except to text her if necessary but when later I did so, she barely answered. She said that the safe wasn’t working as other guests had taken the key. That was in another comment and it wasn’t repaired. Wifi was not working and she directly didn’t answer my message when I texted her about it. The wifi info wasn’t in the apartment and she took 5 hours to send it to me. The garbage from the previous guests wasn’t taken away, there were no kitchen towels and the kitchen seemed to be the one of a camping site, everything was different and some things missing like tea spoons. The apartment wasn’t clean, there was hair all over and dust on the floor. The table was sticky. The sofa was extremely hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. The sheets were not even the size of neither the sofa nor the double bed. The pillows were just a decoration, they seemed to be for a dog s kennel. The bed cover were shabby and dirty. The beach nearby is horrible and full of people. Please think about paying to stay here. READ ALL THE COMMENTS BEFORE. I ignored one which is exactly what I have experienced. The pics on booking are not what you see inside. BE CAREFUL. This is by far neither Chic nor deluxe!

Good apartment for a short stay in Split.

Very nice apartment close to the tourist area of Split. Easy walk to the waterfront and restaurants. Good on site parking.

The property needed maintenance as one Air conditioner did not work and windows and some other aspects needed attending to. The internet was so slow we couldn’t use it. Still a good apartment, but it reduced the value for money aspect.

Don't stay here, it's not worth it

This apartment is nicely done - very fresh and modern and spaceous. Located in a quiet area, a walkable distance from the old town, but it's uphill all the way to the apartment. When the AC is on, it's good. Once we reminded the host that they had agreed to arrange airport transfer, they arranged very good airport transfer. Still (read below) - I would never recommend you rent this apartment. I thought I spent a little bit more to get a nice experience but it didn't work out that way.

I will try to describe my gripes as objectively as possible. 1. We were told we would be met at the apartment but were not. Instead, we were left waiting in the heat, after a long hot walk with luggage, for 20 minutes before getting a text that the key was under the carpet. This doesn't sound like a lot of time but when you don't know how long it's gonna be, it feels long. We also had a family member that needed to get out of the heat asap. 2. The apartment was not well cleaned. Bed were not made. There were a pile of sheets on the sofa, but some were missing, some were very damp, bordering on wet, and some had big yellow stains and most felt very worn. The host returned when we were out to dinner to give us the missing ones. 3. All doors and windows need to be closed for the AC to start. I knew this. Sounds like a good idea. Except one of the balcony doors has a broken handle and the other has a very well hidden switch you need to flip to be able to close it. The broken handle needs to be closed in a particular way and then shoved upwards as hard as you can before the AC can be turned on. This took me about an hour to figure out, during which time my contact person did very little to help me, except ask me to send photos of the doors and give unhelpful suggestions. You'd think they could have told me about the switch at least. 4. This apartment is getting zero love. No thought goes into what you might need in a kitchen (bunch of mismatched old stuff) or bathroom (almost no hooks or shelves) and no information at all about how things work in the apartment (which would have been great, considering the balcony doors). It feels like an agency that handles a bunch of apartments and don't really care. It may not be the case but that what it feels like. I have rented A LOT of apartments in this area. I can't recall a place that ever frustrated me this much. There are other places to stay - pick one of them and save yourself the grief.

Very comfortable and clean. The host was very accomodating with allowing us to store luggage securely until the room was available. The host also accommodated an early checkin very easily, and provided great information regarding surrounds and recommendations

Superb

We stayed for a week in the bigger one (3 people), the pictures are accurate. Very modern and very clean apartment. Two separate rooms plus a big living room/kitchen area and a great bathroom. There are two small balconys which was great for breakfast and drying clothes. Easy communication with the host. The apartment is in walking distance to the city centre (~15 minutes) and supermarkets are very close as well. Also free parking is offered if needed. We really enjoyed our stay.

A comfortable base to explore Split.

The rooms were modern and spacious. The kitchen was also well equipped, allowing us to have breakfast there before setting out to explore Split. The old town of Split and the harbour was a short 20min walk away. We could park our car off street in the property parking bay

The neighbourhood, although safe, was not great and so we walked down to the more touristic areas for restaurants and exploring.

clean appartement with sufficient space (only terrace is too small compared to the impression on the picture), fully equipped kitchenette and bathroom with large shower, friendly host, parking space just outside

there are 2 airco units which shut down as soon as someone opens a window or the front door. this is very annoying (while understandable due to energy costs) because you can’t allow the appartment to cool down when going out. noise from slamming doors from neighbours and traffic is to be expected. the sleep bench in the living room can NOT be transformed into a bed, it is just a bench you can sleep on :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Urban Chic Apartments, the location was great, it was about 15 min walk into the centre and closer to the beach. The room was spotless and well equipped for our stay. Barbara was really accommodating and we were able to have an early check in which was a bonus!

Very good

Huge, beautiful, clean, modern apartment with an amazing bathroom and a very big shower. Comfortable beds, big balcony (no view though) and a reasonable walk to the town. Parking right in front of the building. Adequate kitchen utensils and a good wifi!

By no means a fault of the apartment or the lovely owner lady but there was a VERY loud party going on right next door while we were trying to go to sleep. Maybe also a rental unit? Luckily they turned down the music and yelling around 11PM so it didn't go on the whole night.

Spacious.Lovely bedroom and bathroom.

Was told the host would meet us on arrival but she was away for 4 days.no information in apartment re locality and amenities. Unable to access safe as locked open so we had to carry our passports and valuables around with us for 4 days. Contacted Barbara the host but she was not really interested or bothered. Unable to access WiFi for 2 days. The kitchen was very short on utensils and plates.

Great location near the riva

The location was really beautiful and there was a lot of space as well : in fact, the bathroom was defenitely incredible, same for the bedroom.

The air condo stops everytime a door is open (front door and terrace door). It's just a tiny detail otherwise it was perfect

Good solution for travellers with a car

Location was handy for the town centre and the local beaches. It was especially good for travellers with a car as there is a parking space. The cafe across the road serves excellent coffee.

We found the hot water very erratic. I think it was dependent on the usage of the apartment above. It resulted in most of our showers being tepid.

Definitely recommend

Barbara was lovely and welcoming Everything was clean and modern. Kitchen equipment was sufficient. Shower was not very hot but definitely sufficiently warm. Beds were very comfortable and the baby cot was well equipped and dressed. The free parking was a bonus and there a good shops around, there's a Lidl a small drive away and a very good Spar supermarket nearby, within walking distance. The walk into town was straightforward and the local beach is a 10 min walk away and water was still very warm in the second week of September.

Everything was lovely. If I were to point something out that would be that the lights in the apartment were a bit too bright. Needs some mood lighting. But that's really a minor issue only because I needed it for winding down toddler and baby for bed.
