Beautiful location! Check in was easy and the house had everything we needed. Beautiful open living room and kitchen for hanging out with the family!

We have a very lovely time staying at J’s Chalet. It’s close to North Conway and Story Land is minutes away. I would highly recommend this property.

The chalet was the perfect location for our storyland weekend! We had the best time.

Ages 3-74 enjoyed our stay greatly. Great room including kitchen and dining room were awesome! We had somemores at the fire ring and enjoyed the experience. Close to Storyland and great restaurants. Jacuzzi needs tlc.

Very nice house. Comfortable beds. Great location. We loved our stay and look forward to staying again.. They really fix the hot tub, that would be such a bonus!

Stayed here with my family, two small kids. Had an issue with check-in and handled promptly with the owner (thank you!). Location is good, everything in decent working order. Similar to other reviews, some things are dated but it’s not bad. Bedrooms are partially sub grade so a bit of a basement-y smell to it; one room is more so than the other two. HVAC controls are upstairs so bedrooms can get quite chilly if it’s warm out but there’s space heaters and such if needed. Carpets can use a shampoo, same for the couch. Overall, decent place if you’re not sensitive to things being pristinely clean and if you don’t mind the bedroom setup.

Spent the weekend here with my wife and our two kids and some friends and their kid to go to storyland. The house was everything we needed. The place was clean and comfortable and the host was friendly and helpful. Only disappointing thing was that the area around the fire pit was overgrown so we couldn’t use that. Still highly recommend.

We stayed here the end of the week of July 4th for 3 nights. It was 2 couples with 3 boys under 3 years old and one teenager. The house was the perfect set up for the two families. It was stocked with everything you need and the location was great! I would certainly stay here again :)

The set up was perfect. Couch and vacuums need updating. Not sure if cobwebs are common due to location (wooded area), house appeared clean with that exception. It would have been nice if the lawn would have been cut so the fire pit could be used. Outside could have been cleaned up a bit.

We were a group of ladies on a road trip. Stayed two nights. Lots of room. Comfortable beds. We did not use the kitchen so not sure about supplies or appliances. Check in was a breeze. The instruction book seemed to have some pages missing. There was no instructions about removing linen from beds. I emailed but we had already left the property when I was able to pull up the response (phone had poor service). Be aware there are no washcloths. So will need to bring your own. We tried to find a dollar store to purchase some but no luck with that. Also, trash is taken off site to a community dumpster. We could not open the dumpster. After 15 minutes trying to decide what to do, someone else came with his trash and a KEY to unlock it. I did not see a key in the unit but most likely overlooked it. We had already vacated the home so did not return to look for a key. Despite the little glitches would stay here again.

Property had fire pit with fire which we took advantage of. There was also a snow shovel and salt if needed. Check in was contactless and seamless. There was a notebook with instructions for the house along with suggestions for activities and dining out which was nice to have. The furniture was a little tired but got the job done. TV was cumbersome to figure out but instructions were in the notebook. One suggestion would be to message the Wi-Fi logins ahead of time in case there's a problem checking in and the individual does not have service at the house. This would allow someone to hook up to Wi-Fi and message through the platform. Overall everything was adequate.

Heads up on the light above the stove did not work and we never did get the tv working but that was OK we just watched some of the movies that were there.

This property was in the most amazing location for StoryLand! There’s a local grocery store and plenty of restaurants.
If you want that clean feeling, this house is not for you. Parts of the house (and 1 bedroom in particular) wreaked of cat urine. We couldn’t use that room. The comforters on all beds needed to be washed prior to sleeping because they looked and smelled dirty. The bathrooms were clean. All the rooms had much-needed heaters since the bedrooms are subterranean and were quite chilly at night. The outside deck was great. The kitchen had all you needed to cook, but the microwave was burnt or damaged on the outside, had no light, and there was very little light in the kitchen and even less over the stove or on the counters.
The owners were nice enough to let us switch our stay dates when we got Covid, but while we were there, a rain storm took down a tree near the house and pulled down the power lines. The power went out and the loud boom scared us and our 2 year old. Since it was a dark day anyway, the house was hard to be in without power…so we had to cut our stay by 1 day and head home early in the morning. Unfortunately, after hearing about our rushed exodus to safety, the hosts did not agree to our request to refund us for that day we missed and only refunded half our daily fee. They kind of gave us a hard time and felt thief were generous, however, we did not feel that way. We ended up paying for a day that we were not there and could not be there.
That’s our story…decent home, but nothing really great except for the location.

Attended a wedding so we weren't there full time. Very nice letting that needs a bit updating. The downstairs had a peculiar order especially in the closets. Other then that we enjoyed our stay. Just 20 minutes of arriving a momma bear & 2 cubs came wandering into the yard so we felt best not to use the firepit area. It also would have been very nice if the hot tub had been up & running. Could tell it hadn't been used for awhile.

While the easiest reason to stay here was the proximity to Story Land, Echo Lake, the Saco river, and Diana's Baths, it was certainly not the only one! We were very lucky to have great weather for the entirety of our stay, but the grand entertaining space on the main floor made for a relaxing way to enjoy company at the beginning and end of each day.

We enjoyed our stay here. The location is very convenient. It is ideal for a family on vacation with everything provided that you could need. The beds were very comfortable. The upstairs has a nice open living space with a balcony and great natural lighting. There is a good selection of games and movies. It is a very clean space.
That being said, it is in definite need of some updates. Towels are frayed and torn. Throw blankets are stained. Several kitchen floor tiles are cracked. The couch is worn and stained. Additionally, several smoke detectors were pulled from the ceilings and do not appear to be in working order.

New England trip
We all had a very nice time at this house. We were on the go most of the time so we didn’t really get to spend a lot of time there though. House was very clean and accommodated the three couples perfectly.

Great Spot!
We just got home from an awesome family weekend getaway. We went to storyland & santas village. This location was perfect. The home was beautiful, very clean and plenty of room for the family. It was in a nice neighborhood, just a minute from Storyland- super convenient with the little ones to go back and forth. We were really happy with everything! The hot tub wasn’t working but we were told well in advance. The beds were comfortable, TV had all the extras and the central air was a huge plus! Thanks for sharing your home with us.

House is beautiful and very serene.
House is located in a very small clean community and the house had enough privacy from main road which is t very busy at all. House was well kept. Jacuzzi, we were to was unavailable during our visit which was unfortunate, but so much to do it went unnoticed. Overall our stay was awesome and will definitely use again and recommend to enjoy heading up north.

Amazing trip. House was perfect for our needs and exactly as described
We just returned home today from a weekend stay. We are 6 college roommates who used this as a 15 year “reunion”. It was the perfect set up for a girls weekend getaway with plenty of open space on the upper level to gather and hang out. The bed layouts were perfect witb 2 people Sharing the queen beds and everyone else having their own. 2 showers was great for 6 females! The location was perfect for outlet shopping and also feeling like you were tucked away In the woods. Although we didn’t end up using the fire pit outside, the set for it was really cute. Would definitely rent again!

Overall it’s a great location and home.
The location and neighborhood were great. Would have liked to had the AC on before arrival. The main living area was 88 degrees upon arrival and took 24 hours to cool below 70. The home had nearly all of the smoke and carbon detectors unplugged from the ceiling. I was a bit concerned about this staying with two young children. I would suggest some new main living area furniture as it wasn’t the most welcoming to sit on. Plenty of space between the main living area and decks. Would have been nice to have the bottom running but were aware it was out of commission before we arrived.

Disappointed
I had to reach out twice to receive the code for the door on check in. After getting into the house, we quickly realized the first floor (main use) toilet was not working! The property has a hot tub and that was the main reason we chose this property, however, once we arrived there was a notice stating the hot tub is out of order.
On the plus side...house was clean, AC works great, beds are comfortable!

First White Mountain Trip
I came to this house with my wife, sister, brother-in-law, brother and brother's girlfriend and had a great time. The location was great because of its close proximity to the white mountains which was the main reason for this trip. The house was also a short ride to North Conway which had some cute local stores in addition to a large outlet. The supermarkets and walmart were also in the same area. The jacuzzi was the real MVP. It was exactly what we needed after our long hikes. We enjoyed the house and would come back anytime.

Great place
We had a great week and loved the house. Our only problem was our minivan couldn’t make it up the road (it’s on a hill) to the house one day when it snowed. Luckily we got a ride up from friends with an SUV.

Family getaway.
This home is the perfect size to spend time with family members. We were there celebrating my husbands birthday. The size of the house was perfect. The layout was great for us to spend time together. The area of Glen, NH is beautiful. I highly recommend staying at this place.

Adventure awaits!
We had a lovely time at J's chalet! The home is very spacious, clean and well maintained. The location was fantastic for us, an hour to Santa's village and 20 minutes to mt Washington. The hot tub was a bonus, and enjoyed by all. Would recommend this home, and hope to be back next summer.

Great stay!
We are a group of 4 adults and 2 children and this house was great for our group! We loved the open space upstairs and that the bedrooms were downstairs. The house was very clean and was stocked with everything we needed. The owners were very responsive to all questions! It is a great location to visit Storyland and Santa’s Village and enjoying all things to do in the area. Quiet neighborhood and a perfect spot for our vacation!

What a great place to catch up with my family. Thanks so much to the J's!

Amazing chalet and location, perfect for multiple families!
This was a wonderful homebase for 3 families traveling with young ones for a weekend to Storyland and Santa's Village. With the bedrooms all on the lower level and an open concept and massive living area/kitchen/dining room on the main level, we didn't feel like we were cramped or on top of each other. In the evening when the kids went to bed, all the adults could hang out together in the living room without having to tip toe around (too much). The hot tub was amazing as well and we got to enjoy that for a bit. The grill and deck was a great addition to for saving money and eating in, though we had difficulty with the grill as the igniter didn't work and we couldn't get a hold of the property owners. We did get a bit nervous as we couldn't get a hold of the owners for the check-in instructions until a couple hours before we arrived, but when we learned post-trip we had left behind some items they were very responsive and helpful in confirming the items were still there and allowing us to retrieve them (they even found stuff we didn't realize was missing!). We will 100% come stay again, and definitely check it out in the winter due to the proximity to Attitash, Wildcat and Cranmore!

Family vacation in White Mountains
Property is in a great location and was exactly as described in the listing. We had an issue with a smell coming from a closet in one of the bedrooms that the host was unable to resolve. Other than that, we had a great experience and would recommend this listing to others.

Great location!
The house is in a great location for exploring everything the White Mountains has to offer! The owners were quick to respond when communicating and the house was decently clean. However, there’s a bit of upkeep that needed to be done when we stayed there - dead leaves/debris in the hot tub, only 3 outdoor chairs to use that weren’t broke, several light bulbs were out, all ceiling and exhaust fans had a thick layer of dust caked on them, etc. If these issues are fixed this would be a five-star house.

A Wonderful and Relaxing Vacation
We had a great time here. The home was clean and set up wonderfully to keep our 3 year old entertained. Secluded but still close to everything! Small hiccup getting the code to the house but owner answered when we called and all was perfect from there. Will definitely keep in mind for future visits. SUPER close to Storyland!
