Would definitely return!

Great location, staff super friendly and helpful. Came up on the motorbike and able to park right outside the room, fabulous views of the beachfront.

Rooms a little dated, especially the kitchen / bathroom area. Water pressure for the shower was a bit measley. Showerheads were very low down for some reason?

Good Stay

Comfortable room with clean toilet. Superb view of the beach from the room. Great location.

No cooking of seafood in the kitchen. Soundproofing is not good. Neighbours are complaining that the water piping sound is too loud when we shower. Disappointed when we paid more for a better room yet received complaint which is not controllable by us.

Having a dog , it isn’t easy to find accommodation. I have 2 . I am very happy with what is provided.

Dog friendly, location to town and beach. I have stayed here before so didn’t even look for anything else in Whitianga.

Just had a lovely 4 days which was relaxing and very pleasant.

It is old but so well kept. Everything is neat tidy and clean. We stayed there in 1991 and this is only the next time. Was happy to be back there.

The reception lady was absolutely lovley! Very welcoming an the room was very clean, had a heater an electric blankets which was so good on a winters night, would definitely stay again 😁

Great location with sea view. Good sized bedroom. Overall a nice stay

Very small lounge/living space. Small TV. No Sky. 2 seater Counch not very comfortable. Ok to sit but to relax in. Old Shower with very little water pressure. Didn't get fresh towels for the second night.

Lovely location and nice place to stay

Being opposite the sea. Very quiet. Excellent kitchen and being able to cook a meal on the hob. Spacious.

A bit cold. Pulled out the heater which warmed up the place.

Our top pick in Whitianga

The Anchorage owners/management are a credit to Booking.com. We were unable to go as originally planned due to a sickness in the family, and they accepted our date change request even when the booking had already become non-refundable. They also let us upgrade to a seaview room for a nominal extra cost. The unit itself was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable, the microwave looked new, and there was a large fridge. We could have happily stayed for a week, looking out to the sea from the living/dining area. It's also very central, with a restaurant just a few steps away, and the shops just around the block. We had been to this area a number of times, but Anchorage Motel will definitely be our top pick on our next trip to Whitianga.

No complaints whatsoever. Ted was so welcoming, and we absolutely loved our stay. Thank you!
