Beautiful resort - wish the weather had cooperated so we could use the beach and other available amenities …
Not walking distance to town - had to hire a driver to see the amazing coast

Beautiful location
It was not clear that the lift to the beach was no where near the beach and also unreliable so major climb.
There were inadequate restaurant facilities for the number of people. Either they were booked up or, if you tried to walk in, subject to significant queues.
Nothing was included not least the sun beds for which there was a waiting list and were very expensive as were all the water sports.

Great location with private beach and great views. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Unsupervised kids everywhere and no “kid free” areas, even bars. I wouldn’t come here unless you’re with kids.

Bedienung freundlich.
Restaurant teilweise übervoll.

Lovely beach
Tired looking hotel, unmotivated staff, quality of food resembles budget all inclusive hotel not a 5 star resort. Only one beach towel per person provided and one would only get it by leaving a deposit card. Never experienced anything like it.

The location is nice and hotel is in good working order.
There were a few points which were quite frustrating:
1) All the activities are at an extra charge but are a big selling point of the hotel. Not only were the activities at an extra charge but there were extra charge on top of the extra charges which were hidden costs. Specifically as follows:
1a) Golf package is sold as "9 and dine" at a very high cost. However, when we booked the package we were told it includes everything and the cancellation was at least 24hrs in advance. On arrival we were told that a normal sports top was not sufficient so had to purchase golf polos which total EUR250 extra. We were then told to purchase golf balls which the previous day we had been told were included. These golf balls were also priced at EUR19.99 which is far above what normal golf balls cost. Then on arrival at lunch the menu was severely restricted to three dishes from the main menu which was not communicated. Overall ended up spending EUR500 on 9 holes of golf which is more expensive than the best golf courses in the world.
1b) Golf driving range require a purchase of balls, but then you have to hire each golf club at EUR5 per clubs each time, i;ve never seen that before and feels too expensive per club every single time.
1c) Tennis and paddle courts have to be booked in advance at a fee then there is an additional charge for rackets
1d) Swimming pool is free but there is a ludicrous rule about swimming hats (not Marriot policy because one month ago went to Crete resort and there was nothing of the sort), so had to purchase these at EUR5 for a terrible quality hat in one size that doesn't fit.
2) Charging EUR6 for a large bottle of water is extortionate given the wholesale cost would be insane for something that should really be free in a "luxury" resort.
3) Beach is overcrowded and people are basically sitting on top of each other
4) There should be an adult area / pool area specifically.

Everything!
The first night we spend in a room just above the Breakfast Restaurant , which was very loud - but we changed the room on the next day !!! The renovated bathroom is not very charming . Please try to keep more of the original version !!!

The hotel architecture and design
The room design and layout
The views from the top of the cliff to the sea were beautiful
Lots of sunbeds on the clifftop near Hotel pool
The restaurant staff were wonderful- genuinely friendly and wanting to help especially in the absence of vegetarian options
The food we ate was of a high standard - apart from the salads adapted for vegetarian diet in the pool area
Fab sandy beach with fun waves but see comment re sunbeds
Concierge were useless - even prior to arrival, it took 5 emails to book a table at Mare, having been told originally that it wasn’t possible to book which was contradictory to the website and App
Rubbish from previous occupants found on room bedside table
Various things not working in the rooms - lamp, lock, only one bottle of water provided.
Plastic bottles of water provided in room. Why not glass bottles with filtered water ?
Lack of vegetarian options on menus. None on Garden&Pool menu and staff / kitchen unable to provide an alternative source of protein; 1 option at some restaurants but none at Mare. However, staff at the restaurants were amazing as they acknowledged the problem and were keen to help.
The pools were cold although you did get used to it.
No lifeguards at any pools we visited
For families with little children, the sunbed arrangement around Hotel pool was not standard - ie there are only a few sunbeds directly looking at the pool with the rest on the huge grassy cliff top area which felt very big.
Sunbeds on beach - not enough, crammed together, not enough sunshade so people were having to buy fabrics from beach hawkers to provide shade. Not very pleasant feel.
There were no free activities and when I asked Concierge all they did was copy all of the info in the App. and told me that balls were available to borrow. So no informal kick about or basketball games for teenagers, just all the paid for Clubs which my son didn’t want to commit to.

Good room. Beautiful gardens.
Beach and facilities not great
Too many people and too many children.
The whole development uses the hotel and creates over crowding of facilities

I've been several times and really like it. Beautiful hotel in front of the ocean.

Beautiful location with the famous Pine Cliffs 9 hole golf course on site. We stayed in the hotel and had a Deluxe ocean view room which was great. I loved the sunbeds under the pine trees, the beach towel cards, Mare beach restaurant and the champagne bar overlooking the cliffs. We played golf every day and enjoyed the course and the facilities of the clubhouse.
There wasn't an easy option just to get something like a basic sandwich and crisps to have down at the beach or by the pool (I travelled with my 14 year old son who is always hungry!). There were very few staff manning the sunbed area for drinks service. Worth mentioning the walk to the beach is down steps and a long boardwalk - coming back up takes some effort and not suitable for those with mobility issues. Obviously the resort shops are expensive - worth popping out the resort to the supermarket which is opposite the main entrance for basics.

How well the hotel was run and how friendly your staff were
Having to wait until 3pm for the room as I had been travelling since since 6 am also service replacement in the room tea etc

Breakfast buffet was amazing. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. We were presented with a Wedding Anniversary cake which was very unexpected.
There was no Nespresso in the room. The mini bar was empty and there was no water in the room. There was no shower cap or cotton wool pads in the bathroom. I would expect all these things in a 5 Star hotel.

Bruno, the tennis coach at the Annabel Croft Tennis Club that works inside the resort I found to be excellent.
The breakfast is plentiful. Eat breakfast at the Residence by the pool. Beach Good, Comfortable Beds.
Dated Hotel, Very expensive basic food, Everything costs extra. Bathrooms were cheap.

The gardens and beach front . The hotel was beautiful and luxurious. The Serenity spa was superb.
The menu in Corda Cafe was limited and as it was the only restaurant that was open there was no other choice. It would have been helpful if the menu changed for the evening meal.

The Location is fantastic, staff is very friendly and helpful, Miguel from reception is very professional and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable, nice bed. Mirador bar is fantastic and the view is spectacular. Staff is fantastic all around the resort, helpful and friendly, breakfast is very good. Good Pizzas at Corda Café, Room service staff was excellent and also the chicken wing and cheesecake.
Food quality, Corda café steak and or Fajitas, poor quality, very overpriced for the quality, I’ll pay more if needed but not for poor quality meat and preparation, felt like Applebee’s on a bad day.
Room service food was of poor quality, pasta dishes tasted like hospital food, no tomato sauce in the meat sauce.
8.0 / 10.0
The ocean, red cliffs and nature were unbelievably beautiful. I think I experienced one of the best views in my life. The breakfast was not bad at all with a cup of Champaign
The room service was not perfect at all. WC was broken, we had to call reception to fix it. The safe didn't work and it was not a happy-end story like previous. Nobody came to help with it
