great stay in Te Anau

clean, quiet, only a 10min walk into town. Responsive staff.

(that i was sick more than a whole day there! but it was a comfy place to recuperate)

Had a great time and will be back.

It was a really warm room with a great view of the lake. Great parking right outside.

We had a used milk in the fridge when we arrived and never received any new ones when the room was serviced.

Disappointed.

Very disappointed. We got in late the first night and went straight to bed. The next morning we noticed blood on the sheets that was not ours. We requested the bed linens be all changed and when we returned that evening the same soiled sheets were on the bed. We called again and someone came to change the sheets.

good but probably not the best value in Te Anau

Kingsgate hotel is located across the street from a park on the lake front. The rooms were good size, clean and comfortable. There is plenty of parking behind the building.

Kingsgate hotel is located across the street from a park on the lake front. But, most rooms, and most of the grounds, do not have a direct view of the lake. The hotel is walking distance from the main street dining area. It is a pleasant walk but, some may find it a bit far.

Very enjoyable stay Staff very friendly

Staff very pleasant and accommodatiing. we ate twice in restaurant for evening meal the staff in there very friendly and looked after us well 😃 Would also give Deepak a mention as we lost the key to a suitcase and he managed to break the lock and saved the day ..Thank you very much Deepak😃 Loved the area and Would have liked to stay another night but unfortunately they were fully booked...would recommend Kingsgate although it does need updating slightly .. I guess the price reflects the rooms

NON - AC HOTEL

Only the behavior of the staff at the restaurant.

This is a NON - AC hotel without even a fan. The rooms are boiling throughout the day till the sun is up. There are plenty of motels and hotels on the same road with better lake views and facilities at much cheaper rates.

The rooms were spacious and comfy. It was a lovely room to relax in. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent value for money, and the wait staff were very accommodating.

I probably wasn't observant enough looking at the amenities when I made the booking. I'm not keen on shower over bath. Safety measures and instructions were in place, and even though I took every precaution, I still slipped and hurt my leg on the side of the bath.

Nice large room with comfy bed. I was sort of in and out quickly so didn’t spend enough time to give a detailed review.

The room was cold but the electric heater on the wall sorted that once I sussed out how to use it which was like, hit a few buttons and wait to see if it gets warm. Too complicated heater!

- Be aware there is no aircon. We stayed in January and it was extremely hot - Tiny bathroom, was difficult to stop water going everywhere from the shower

not somewhere I’d choose to stay again.

location was opposite the lake and 10 min walking distance to town. only 1.5hr drive to Milford Sound. beds were very comfortable.

very old and dated decor. restaurant was not available during our stay due to staff shortages. unfortunately during the time we were there (late Dec) there were not enough restaurants open to service all the visitors. there was a real staff shortage problem in the town.

We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again.

The hotel is right across from the lake and only a short walk to restaurants. The people we dealt with were very friendly and helpful.

The room could have been a little cleaner, but overall it was fine.

The view from our room was good. You could see the lake view fairly well over the top of the low roof top in front. The beds were very comfortable. We were able to have a large bed each in the same room, which for us was ideal. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Great value for money. I like that I didn't have to pay for fancy accommodation but still had a great view, plenty of room, and comfort. Easy on-site parking. Staff kindly offered to carry our suitcases upstairs to the room.
