Really good place for holiday, good location and friendly staff, really clean.
The water pressure for the shower is a bit low.

The bed was very comfortable, the lounge and all day tea and coffee were very welcome. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was adequate but limited in choice and a little sparse.

I really enjoyed my stay at Kurrara very much and would be happy to return and recommend it to friends.
Marnie, who served breakfast, was lovely and very obliging. A big plus.
The breakfast rooms were delightful, the sunny veranda area in particular was most enjoyable.
I found the water temperature difficult to adjust when showering.
I found that the positioning of the coffee machine over the fridge was not ideal as guests were queuing up over each other for coffee, milk, juices, etc. It was a bit awkward.
May I also suggest fresh croissants if possible.
Please accept these as constructive suggestions.

the charm and the beautiful Brekky
it is an old creaky building but it is part of the charm

We did not realise that the hosts did not live on or near the premises - which is fine for single occupation but we had to approach and deal with very noisy fellow guests on the first night which was not a pleasant experience. Nor comfortable when they came to breakfast on the following day.
In addition the creaking floor above our ceiling really needs attention. Except for that the room was perfect but It was constant feature and detracted from our enjoyment of the room. Having said that we enjoyed our stay. The room was well appointed and very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and the facilities overall very accommodating and thoughtful. The location is quiet and very convenient for the Blue Mountains experience. In spite of our two comments above we would highly commend this Guest House.

the historic house and its furniture, central location on a quite part of town
THe fireplace, given the age and history, should have been a features of this bedroom but we were NOT allowed to use it. Disappointing as it is detracting from the romantic atmosphere.
Being old the sounds travel tooooo much; never mind the breakfast noises in the morning (sleeping in is not an option. But we could hear EVERYTHING going on next door; way to frisky, again taking away from any romantic ideas we would have for this stay.
Staff could be more helpful.

This is the oldest residential property in Katoomba. It is a charming and special house and it was a pleasure to sit with a cup of tea in the lounge or the library as both had a most pleasant and peaceful atmosphere.
The owners were very friendly and helpful in every respect, including tours/sightseeing suggestions and booking.
Breakfast was excellent and there is an exceptional selection of complementary tea.
There is no parking problem and the place is a short drive to wherever we needed to get to.
The room on the upper floor was a bit small and there was not enough shelf space in the bathroom. Later we heard that the rooms on the ground floor are spacious but more expensive. Having said that - the place is so charming that we were happy to be there and that helped us ignore this shortcoming.
If we will come to Katoomba again - we will undoubtedly stay at Kurrara.

The bedrooms and common rooms are very warm and cozy. The tea selection available all day is great. The breakfast is ok: more selection of homemade and fresh food would be suggested.
Location is not very convenient if you don’t have a car (all the restaurants and the station are 15 minutes uphill).
