About this cottage rental
Pink Sands Beach Cottage is a very charming beach cottage with a direct access to a breathtaking pink sandy beach. Most of the times you will be alone, and if it gets crowded, you may have two to six people around... 2.5 miles of stunning beach. On this part of this beach, at low tide, the ocean is a magnificent turquoise lagoon with large sand bars.
The cottage is ideally situated. Everything is within walking distance: supermarket, bakery, restaurant, bank, doctor, pharmacy...
This old-fashioned looking cottage gives visitors to Spanish Wells a real taste of island living. Located on quiet Saint George's Cay, this heaven is the perfect place for relaxation, for honeymooners, a romantic getaway, a quiet family vacation or if you just want to get away from the world for a while.
Spanish Wells is prosperous, clean, safe, and beautiful. Spanish Wells is a neat and clean little town with most homes sporting a fresh coat of pastel paint, a real island getaway. Spanish Wells is reminiscent of an idyllic Cape Cod fishing village with swaying coconut palm trees and bright bougainvillea as background.
Spanish Wells is one of the most quaint, clean, and prosperous islands in the Bahamas. It offers a rich history and old world and out island charm, and, yet, is very civilized. Spanish Wells is the envy of Eleuthera, The Bahamas, and even the region. It is part of the well known Eleuthera island.
The population is predominantly white native Bahamians, many of which are descendants of the first British settlers from the 1600's or Loyalists from the 1700's.
Spanish Wells offers everything you need: beautiful pink and white sand beaches, and water so clear that you can see your shadow on the bottom. Stretching from Spanish Wells to the northeast tip of mainland Eleuthera is a beautiful barrier reef called the Devil's Backbone which is inhabited with an abundance of marine life. This area is fantastic for snorkelers, and fishermen usually find that grouper and snapper are plentiful in this area. One mile off shore, there's great sport fishing. There's world-class bone fishing on the flats surrounding the island. One can walk around the island, wade for sand dollars on the North beach, purchase the fresh catch of the day from local fishermen, and browse the centuries-old village. Island tours offer a half-day or full day reef fishing, swim with the pigs, diving the shipwreck, bridge and cliff jumping, sand bar away from the shore...
Spanish Wells offers several supermarkets, a bakery, several restaurants or take away (which serve native Bahamian and American dishes at reasonable prices), bars and liquor stores, a medical clinic, a museum, variety stores; and of course, you can purchase fresh fish and lobster from fishermen!
Ideal temperatures all year round: Winter temperatures are generally in the 70's during the day and drop to the 60's at night. Summer daytime temperatures are generally in the 80's and drop to the 70's at night.

The home was appointed perfectly with everything needed for a visit. Full kitchen for any amount of cooking. The main sitting area is spacious and has wonderful passthrough from front to back yards. Plenty of light and breeze. Large upstairs space with additional beds and view of the beach. Owner was very responsive to needs.

We loved our time at Pink Sands. Location and beach access were perfect. The house had everything we needed. The outdoor shower is a feature we’ll look for in all of our next rentals…it was amazing. Host and caretaker were very responsive, which is always appreciated. We prefer this end of the island because it’s quieter and less condensed.

Elizabeth's house was clean, roomy and nice place for the three of us to stay on Spanish. Nice location right off the beach. Easy to get around the island with golf cart.

You could not ask for a better location. The house is conveniently located to the beach, to the grocery store and pharmacy, to medical care if needed, and to restaurants. The house is comfortable and quiet. The beach and the water are exceptional, both in terms of cleanliness and clarity. An excellent place to spend some time and relax.

Our stay at Pink Sands was amazing. The location was perfect, the beach was quiet and clean, and house was clean and bigger than expected. Highly recommend staying here!

Pink Sands Cottage is beautiful, and Elizabeth the nicest hostess.
You´ll find everything you need at the house and more, to be honest.
We didn´t have the best weather (windy and rainy), but yet we find Spanish Wells and Russel Island charming and beautiful.
I thought about taking out a star because of the garden... it was in a deep need of maintinance during our stay. And then, on our last day at 8.00 am the garden keeper showed up. I would appreciated he arrived after 10.00 am, our check out time....

Perfect Vacation!
We had such a fantastic time on Spanish wells! Weather was beautiful all week! We came on Christmas Eve and we’re able to wake on Christmas morning to see Santa had found the kids here in Spanish wells. Such great memories made! The house is very clean and welcoming. Plenty of space for 4 children upstairs and my husband and I in the downstairs bedroom.
There are two large (Queen) sized beds upstairs along with a roll away cot. Plenty of room for a 14,11,9 and 7 year old. Full sized bathroom upstairs with a tub/shower. Kids loved the spiral stairs. Washer and dryer was a blessing so we could travel lighter. Plenty of extra sheets and bedding.
The kitchen had all the items you could need to cook a meal. Plenty of bath towels and best of all 4 beach chairs! The outdoor shower was the best with hot water and was so nice to rinse the sandy kids off after playing at the beach all day.
The caretaker at Harbourside rentals was so kind and quick to answer my questions!
There is a beach enter ace right across the street from the pink sands cottage. So convienient being so close. We walked up to eat lunch and went right back to the beach. I loved the area of beach we were on, right in front of the most beautiful sandbar. The kids loved taking the kayaks out and and with the sandbar it was nice not to have to worry about them going out too far. We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Pink Sands Dec ‘22
Our second time at the property. We love Spanish Wells and we were excited to head back and stay at Pink Sands Cottage again. It’s a lovely quaint house which suits us perfectly and for the most part is clean, tidy and provides everything you need. We did think however, that a few cosmetic updates might now be required especially the kitchen and bathrooms. It wouldn’t take much to have the property looking so much better. Investing in having the front yard maintained would help too. We were a little disappointed that the beach (which was the reason we came back) is not as picturesque as it once was. It unfortunately has a lot of weed in the shallow water and a lot of shrubbery growing in the sand. Obviously that is out of the control of the homeowners but still a negative on our part. Overall none of these issues would stop us from renting again.

Daughter Celebration
Everything was wonderful! Check in was seamless with Ricky. The taxi/ferry service was set up and perfect. House was roomy and cool. We loved the porches and easy easy access to the beach.
One thing, we only had 2 bath towels. Santini was able to give us a couple more.
Everyone was so responsive to our questions. We will come back to Spanish Wells for sure!

Great location overall though in future i would stay directly on beach.
Clean, comfortable. We are not use to air conditioning so they seemed loud.

Amazing location and adorable home with lots of extras
We absolutely loved Spanish Wells. The property manager was extremely responsive and easy to work with. The house is much better in person and very well cared for. Spent a lot of time on the front porch enjoying the breeze. The central location was perfect for exploring the island and the very tasty restaurants. We will be back!! The locals are very nice and our kids had a blast too. Great house, great island, just an amazing vacation all the way around.

Exceeded our Expectations!!!
We were a bit nervous to stay in the heart of Spanish Wells thinking we would not have much privacy; however, Pink Sands Cottage was perfectly located. It was not only private, but close to the grocery store, restaurants and only a short walk to an incredible beach!!! At low tide, you can walk out to the sand bars.
Pink Sands Cottage is very spacious! We loved the french doors and openness of it. The upstairs bedroom is quite large and comfortable with a private bathroom. The decor is cute and very beachy. The amenities were great and the home was clean.
Spanish Wells is a great island to visit. It is safe for kids, the people are very friendly and there is much to do. We would definitely stay again!!!

What more can you ask for?
Beautiful home! All the comforts you need. Best location - walk 5 minutes to the grocery store or the beach. View of the ocean from the balcony. Outside shower will spoil you! It's awesome. We will definitely return and suggest Pink Sands to everyone.

Excellent island vacation!
We had a excellent stay. We loved this house and location was great. It was so nice to have the patio furniture on the upper and lower decks to sit outside and enjoy the view. Was happy to see we had a gallon of fresh water waiting on us when we got there. The house was very clean loved the outside shower had it the best water pressure.
I know it would take some time to put together but a list of restaurants, bars, and grocery stores on the island with business hours would be helpful.
Could have used some more towels and washcloths for bathrooms. Some nice beach towels would have been great. There were no dish towels.( drying or washing) No dishwasher so this would have been helpful. I did purchase some and leave them. We are big coffee drinkers so a upgraded coffee maker would have been nice. There was a good selection of cookware the only thing could have use a cookie sheet. Made do with the pizza pan.
Overall our stay was excellent!!!
Just needs a few perks... nice towels, pans, coffeemaker and small appliances.
We loved Pink Sands Cottage. ❤️❤️Was a great first time visit.

Best Vacation Ever
I was looking for a place where there were more locals than tourists, a quiet yet friendly atmosphere, close to the beach and ammenities. I got everything I wished for. The location is superb, the locals friendly and willing to offer you a ride or just say hi, the town is walkable with many little shops and areas to explore. There is a fairly good choice of restaurants and nightly entertainment if you want it, although I preferred to prepare my own meals. The beach is 1 minute walk with a great sand bar that I walked every morning once the tide went out. The main grocery store and bank are another minute away. The home was clean and very spacious. Lucia, the caretaker and her son Mark were helpful and accommodating yet not intrusive. Looking to re-book soon.

LOVED THIS HOUSE!!! Great location, House is clean with a great set up, minutes from the beach
The house is fun and beachy, the location is perfect with the beach, grocery store and Papa Scoops. Restaurant / Bars are welcoming with delicious food. The house has peek a boo view of the beach from the upstairs bedroom. The upstairs room was perfect for our 2 college age girls, separate beds with their own space. They loved it. We fished and had great luck getting tuna, dolphin and Wahoo. We found great treasures on beaches all over. We can’t wait to come back and visit Spanish Wells and the Pink Sands Cottage.

We loved the beach in Spanish Wells and the convenient location of Pink Sands made everything even better! The cottage was well appointed and could not have been cuter!

Clean, comfortable cottage, perfect location
The cottage was clean and comfortable and well-maintained with mosquito screens and good A/C. It is perfectly located - close to the beach, large supermarket and other amenities - and is not noisy because it is off the main street. Toni met us at the dock, took us back there at the end of our stay, and was generally very helpful. The only slight negative is the spiral staircase to the upper floor which is difficult for older people to manage and means you cannot take heavy luggage upstairs. Also the upstairs shower does not drain very well. Overall though, this is a great property and we would definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.
We loved Spanish Wells and its friendly people, had a wonderful half day on the water with Jody Pinder (Capt. Kid) and tried two restaurants - The Shipyard and Wreckers, both good. Walking the beach was a delight and running around in a golf cart a lot of fun, although you wouldn't have to have one all the time because the cottage is so well situated.

Nice house close to the beach
We stayed for 8 days which was slightly too long as the island is very small. Nice house, perfect for a family with up to three kids. Book your golf-car well in advance.

We all loved our stay in this beautiful beachy house. We brought our friends over who came from New Zealand (us Nassau), they had an awesome time and didn't want to leave the house!. Everything in the house was lovely and colorful . Everything you needed in the kitchen was there!
Seconds away from the beach which was great. Would definitely come back!
Thank you Nadine!

Best Place to stay in Spanish Wells
Pink Sands Beach Cottage is one of those very rare places to stay where the pictures and verbiage on line are understated. I have been coming to Spanish Wells at least once a year since 1983 and I have stayed at almost every rental beach home in Spanish Wells. This home is by far the best deal. I am 70 and brought my 15 year old daughter with her 15 year old friend. The exterior of the home is eye catching and fits perfectly with the pastel décor of most Spanish Wells homes. It is beautiful. The interior of the home is even prettier. It had 3 of the typical overhead A/C units, and they cooled the place down in a big hurry. We used the kitchen for most breakfasts and dinner and it was very well equipped. Could have used a few more knives, forks, and spoons, but enough to work with. We used the charcoal grill and they had a handheld chimney device which made it very easy to light the charcoal. The location is perfect. Although it is not directly on the beach, the beach and the water are very visible from the ground or the second floor. There are two balconies on the sea side, upstairs and downstairs. It is literally less than 200 yards from the food store parking lot, Eagle's landing restaurant, and Kathy's bakery ( must get the Johnny cakes and homemade bread). about two minute's drive in a golf cart from many other restaurants, and less than one minute from Papa scoops ice cream where we ate ice cream almost every night after dinner. They have two flavors every night and they advertise the two flavors on a handmade poster each day. Best ice cream on the planet, no matter which flavor you choose. There were coconut palms in the yard with fallen coconuts under them. I took my dive knife and opened one the second day. sweetest coconut I've ever tasted. The milk tasted like coconut flavored sugar water, sweetest I've ever tasted. The local manager Toni was very helpful and brought our luggage to the house in her car from the ferry boat dock. We had rented a golf cart and it was waiting for us at the dock. Everything in the house worked, and it would be very hard to find a complaint. The upstairs was perfect for two teenage girls, very bright and colorful, nice bathroom, and great views of the beach and the Atlantic. We rented a boat, got some seafood, and went to Meek's patch to feed the pigs. The result was a wonderful vacation that we will never forget.
To sum it up, this was, by far, the best place we've ever stayed at in Spanish Wells, or anywhere else.

This cottage was excellent. Clean, everything perfect. Toni was so nice and very helpful, and her homemade bread was to die for. We plan on a return visit to Spanish Wells, and would certainly stay at Pink Sands

Wonderful beach cottage
We are just back from a week's stay at this cottage. The previous reviews are correct - it's a fantastic location just one house back from a stunning, picture perfect beach with incredible powdery sand and crystal clear, calm water.
The house itself is open and bright and we loved having two separate baths & floors for ourselves and our 2 teens. There's a great water view from the upstairs balcony where we enjoyed reading and a soft breeze. The house has a washer/dryer at your disposal, bicycles which come in handy to get around, 3 kayaks and a relaxing hammock. Inside, the house is well outfitted and the kitchen does have most things that you would need to prepare a meal at home, although some items have seen better days. We had to purchase our own paper products like napkins, paper towels, saran wrap, tissues etc. which was a bit of a pain but the supermarket is a quick 2 minute walk. (Along with an ATM, bakery and restaurant).
We loved the small town feel of the Spanish Wells community and everyone we met was incredibly friendly. We only rented a golf cart for part of the time, and when we were walking around on our days without it, we were often offered rides by the locals which was nice. Be aware that the cost of food, both in the store and restaurants is more expensive than you probably find at home - but that's to be expected on an island with everything being brought over via boat.
All in all, it was an extremely relaxing vacation in an idyllic spot and the house is a wonderful choice for a couple or small family. Nadine was very easy to communicate with while setting up the rental and she kindly provided all the info and local contacts we needed prior to arrival. We would definitely return again!

Wonderful Vacation Cottage in Spanish Wells!
Hello Nadine. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage with me (again) and my wife; we thoroughly enjoyed it, and the central location near the beach, shops, and bank was absolutely perfect for us. In addition, your managers Toni and Darryl Pinder were again a great help to us as well. As you know, I vacation quite a bit in Spanish Wells and Pink Sands Cottage is most certainly my favorite rental home there. I definitely want to stay at PSC again during my future return trips to Spanish Wells!

Good value, clean, comfortable, convenient
We stayed at Pink Sands Cottage for three extremely relaxing weeks during August and September. The cottage is a very short walk from a sandy beach with clear, warm water. Our five-year-old daughter was very happy swimming and snorkelling in the shallow water and, when the tide was out, playing on the sandbar which is a couple of hundred metres from the shore. The island is only 2 miles long and there are other beaches to visit in very easy access.
The cottage is spacious, clean and well maintained. It has to sea facing balconies. It is also within five minutes walk of a large supermarket, bank and other smaller shops.
The island itself is very quiet and peaceful. All amenities are within close reach of the cottage. Whilst the entire island is easily walkable most people use golf buggies for the short journeys which are required.
During the holiday we spent most of the time swimming and playing on the beach but we also took a snorkelling trip which was fantastic. The trip took in a dive on two separate reefs as well as a visit to a large sandbar where we looked for shells and also swam in the deeper water surrounding the bar. During the trip our host speared a number of lobsters (a local speciality) which he gave us. We baked them in garlic butter for our dinner.
The island has a number of restaurants all of which served good food on those evenings where we didn't want to cook ourselves.
We had a fantastic trip to Spanish Wells and the Pink Sands Cottage and would highly recommend the journey to anyone who wants to completely switch off and relax

Charming Vacation Rental!
We had such a wonderful vacation in Spanish Wells! And staying at the Pink Sands Cottage was fabulous! Our kids loved playing on the kayaks and we enjoyed the outdoor shower! We especially loved the close convenience of the store and the restaurants. The view of the ocean from the huge porch is stunning. We will certainly come back to Spanish Wells and stay at the Pink Sands Cottage!

Excellent location!
Pink Sands has the perfect location: two minutes from the main grocery story, the bank, a restaurant and the small bakery, one minute from the beach. And that part of the beach is the best: there are some trees so you don't need a beach umbrella for shade and the water is clean and shallow. The cottage itself has all the amenities needed for a week and is clean. Downstairs, there is very efficient AC. We rented a golf cart from Harbour Island rentals and went everywhere with it as it is the main mode of transportation on Spanish Wells. The best restaurant on the Island is the Shipyard. Budda's was also enjoyable, but definitely more fast food. It's also at Budda's that you can buy liquor and wine: the selection is quite good and the prices too, especially for rhum. Spanish Wells is a wonderful laid back place, great for a person like me who likes to relax!

Most peaceful beach you could imagine
Hope to come back! Great cottage everything you need, walking distance to the grocery store, papa scoops ice cream restaurants, and a permanent view of the beach.. Great location, most beautiful beach you can find.

Great location and very clean
We had a wonderful stay at the Pink Sands cottage. It has a prime location walking distance from the grocery store, bank, and restaurant, but most importantly it is a stones throw away from the beach. The whole cottage was decorated very nice and the living room had a great open area to hang out with our group. The place had everything we needed and we would definitely go back and stay there.

Fantastic house, perfect for 2 couples w/ kids
I've just returned from a 4-week stay at Pink Sands Cottage in Spanish Wells. We were two couples with a toddler each and the house was great and very accommodating. My wife and baby stayed in the larger room in the top floor while our friends kept the smaller room downstairs (plus the bathroom) all for themselves. We all had enough space and privacy to do everything we wanted.
The house has pretty much everything you'll need for a fantastic holiday. Fans, french doors, comfortable chairs, utensils, fast wifi connection, etc etc. The only thing missing to make it perfect for me would be a dishwasher (-:
We especially enjoyed the hammock under the coconut trees and the outdoor shower which was the icing on the cake after a full day on the beach.
Unlike many other properties on the island, this wonderful house has a large garden all around it, which adds to the privacy and provides the guests even more space to enjoy and play with the kids.
The location is perfect: in the middle of the island so you can go east or west easily and quickly, couple minutes walk to the supermarket and next door to th drive thru restaurant Eagle's Landing. The beach is only a few steps down a path.
The owners have clearly put a lot of thought and care into creating and decorating their house, which is tastefully colorful and very tropical.
I cannot recommend it enough. If you go, please take care of this special house and island with the love it deserves!

We had a fantastic time. The cottage was more than we expected, very quaint and picturesque, just what one would expect in the outer islands. It is also very comfortable. We never used the stove, only the microwave oven, as we bought our meals from Norma's take away and from the roadside stalls. Norma's may not be fancy but the food is great and good value. Mrs. Pinder took very good care of us. We will definitely return. Next time we will bring our son and his family.

The beach is a delight; perfect white sands kissed by an azure sea. Pink Sands Cottage is ideal for 4 adults or for a small family and its location near the beach is perfect.
We enjoyed our two day trips to Eleuthera and Harbour island. Harbour island is upmarket but well worth beating yourself to a visit. The water and land taxi connections work extremely well, even when returning at 11 PM, even later. $5 a head for the water taxi to Jean's bay and the same from North Eleuthera to Harbour island. Land taxi is approx $30 one way.
You have to visit the liquor store if you enjoy the occasional alcoholic beverage.
We recommend Norma's hut for a fish sandwich, coated in their own seasoning or fresh fish, they're great.

I would like absolutely to say how much we appreciated our stay in your cottage and in your island!
Your house is welcoming, clean and extremely well situated. Its architecture and decoration respect the environment.
Your caretakers Tony and her husband have been very caring and very courteous.
Everything has been perfect. People were friendly, welcoming and polite. Not to mention the scenery...
We will come back next year... if possible... We have been honoured to have been your first guests.

Our arrival at Spanish well was not well organised as nobody came to pick up us up from the airport to the cottage. The owner has to make sure that somebody will be there because you have the lost feeling otherwise...
The surprise was also that the island is a dry one, no alcohol is sold anywhere not even in restaurant, if you wish to have at least a beer you have to get the ferry to Eleuthera.
In the island there is not much to do.....but is a perfect get away from everything.
The cottage is really very nice and well kept ideal for a family with young children as the beach is few steps away and it is breathtaking. The caretakers are reallly nice and always available,
No activities are organised in the island you have to find your way: my husband was disappointed for not having a scuba diving club there and had to go to harbour island instead which is a trouble just for diving.
Snorkelling is also difficult as the reef is not close and you have to get somebody who takes you, the prices are outrageous. It is a pity for them not to have at least a club that organise all the sea activities.
Restaurants.......are only few and really looked like cafeterias.
It is a perfect place if you just want to rest and go to the beach , away from everything but if you look for something else or a combination of relax and fun go to another island.
Having two young children our overall experience was good as they liked to come and go to the beach all day long and you have the feeling of freedom as the island is extremely safe.
