About this cottage rental

The Parrot Nest is one of the Old-Sanibel cottages located on the quiet East End of the island. Since 1955, our charming cottages have been welcoming visitors and until the early 1960's they were brought to our shores from the mainland by ferryboat.
Our cottages are newly renovated in a coastal decor offering you epic comfort, relaxation in a beautiful room. We are within walking distance to the historic Sanibel Lighthouse and fishing pier, beautiful shelling beaches, shopping and restaurants.
If you like, use our complimentary bikes and explore miles of paths covering the island and leading to wildlife refuges, kayaking spots, secluded beaches, and meandering past more eateries, shops, and galleries. The Lovebirds cottage is our largest cottage featuring a king bed and a daybed ( twin ), large outdoor private patio with lounge chairs, outdoor table and chairs for epic relaxation!

Great location and very comfortable cottage, but kitchen equipment almost non existent. We didn’t need to use the enormous oven but no oven ware at all if we did. Very little workspace due to unnecessarily huge oven and sink. Outside space was nice but was in full sun with no shade at all so we couldn’t use it. Bed was great but bathroom tiny and could do with a shelf and a shower gel holder.

Loved being able to walk to the beach, shopping and food. Could use a few more kitchen items for cooking and baking, but is an excellent location, very quiet, and the perfect size for 1-2 people.

Nicely located close to the beach & a super ice cream shop! The next door plaza also had the best shopping we found on the Island. Our accommodations exceeded expectations with nice wine glasses,dishware,beach chairs & even a Kurig Coffee Maker. The beach towels seemed new

Close to the beach this beautiful little cottage was modern and fresh. Just a stones throw from a parade of shops which included a lovely restaurant which we ate at twice. Food was amazing

Excellent location with beautiful surroundings. Nice furnished studio and bathroom. We missed a screen door for fresh air in the bedroom. There was a minimum kitchen equipment only. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We enjoyed our visit. Clean, light, inviting, and conveniently located. Could use a few more kitchen utencils. We love to cook...and felt a little limited in preparing meals! Sanibel Island is such a magical place...We will always return...again and again!

We loved the location! The wagons, beach chairs and bikes were much appreciated. We used them daily. The only things we needed were a blow dryer and some shelves in the bathroom around the sink and in the shower.

Stayed here for our 25th anniversary. The location is absolutely perfect! The unit is clean and updated. Full kitchen and outdoor gas grill. Bring your own dish detergent and you can use a soap holder in the shower. Other than that absolute perfection 😁

Parrot's Nest was a wonderful base from Which to explore Sanibel. It was only a10 to 15 minute walk to the gulf side beach. Our unit was spacious, well equipped,and tastefully decorated. With a comfortable bed. What more could you ask for??? We loved it

Nice little property. The communal bikes and proximity to the beach were what hooked me. It’s not fancy. They lean into the fact that’s it’s dated and simple. I loved it. I’d dare say it’s kitschy. If you want the most modern amenities or to be where action is it’s probably not right for you. If you want a quiet experience away from the crowds it’s absolutely lovely. Cell service was spotty for me and the shared unsecured network was slow to the point of not working at at times. Just a heads up if you need to work remotely or need constant internet access. We loved it! We’ll be back.

Property looks as noted in the summary. Bathroom was NOT renovated, with leaking faucet and dust on the ceiling light. Kitchen was adequate for a weekend but no stove (heating elements). Property is well maintained with plenty of bikes and carts for use.

Loved this little place. So close to the beach, and there are lots of restaurants close by. Bikes are awesome. 4 o’clock check-in is kind of late but they were good at letting me know it was ready early.

Lovely, quiet property. Very clean and easily accessible. Just a tad difficult in using the t.v., hard to figure out. The communication was good for the most part and we were able to check in early. Truly enjoyed our stay. .

The property was clean and we loved the free access to use the bikes around Sanibel! I wish they had an iron/ironing board for our wrinkled clothes in our suitcases, but aside from that nothing was missing. They even had beach towels so we didn't have to use our own. It's a cute cottage and great for couples!

Check in was very easy. They even called to let us know that they finished cleaning and we could check in early. We traveled all over Sanibel and could not have been happier with our location for the week. Also, very happy with the bikes and beach chairs that were provided

The property was very nice. The check in was strange. I didn't get the code for the lock box so had to ask the cleaning girl. I also was told AFTER booking and when I asked just to make sure if having two cars would be a problem. I was told yes since the place was booked. So I had to pay for parking in Ft. Meyers in a lot and have someone from my party pick me up. That was a hassle. And then once getting there the place was not booked and there was plenty of parking places!!! So it cost me more money!!! Beware of this. I really should get a credit

Clean, comfortable and great location! We loved staying here! The mattress was so comfortable that we want the same for our home! Everything was great.. you could easily stay here and prepare your meals. Nice outside patio area and a huge common area to relax and fire pit. Laundry area for small fee.Bikes available which we used to ride to beach and trails! Also. Great breakfast place within. Few feet! Kim also provided great restaurants and tips. We are talking about returning next September!!
