About this cabin rental

Construction on this cabin was completed in April 2019 in Fort Payne, AL—this is a brand new property, overlooking a beautiful pond, pasture land and a shady wooded area. Perfect for relaxation! This cabin has 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, pull out sofa, approximately 1,800 square feet, was built as a private residence. Can comfortably sleep a party of six with plenty of elbow room. Outside amenities include a hot tub on the porch (overlooking the pond), paddle boat, dock, stocked catfish pond, horse shoe pit, walking trails, fire spot, charcoal grill, wrap around porch (covered and uncovered portions), and picnic table. Inside you will find oversized TV above a gas log fireplace, full sized kitchen stocked with pots, pans, and a Keurig coffee maker. Mudroom with washer & dryer, master suite has a jetted garden tub, upstairs has an overlook to bottom story. Fantastic views of pond, hay field, pasture and wooded area. Secluded area where you can watch deer graze and turkeys come and go. Located near Little River Canyon and DeSoto State Park. Our visitors appreciate our proximity to tourist attractions, but our property has so much to offer, why leave?

Place was spotless. A very comfortable setup with everything we needed. Hot tub was great; too bad the pond was low. Don't trust your GPS.

We loved it so much, we came back for a second visit! This is the perfect little getaway spot. While there is plenty to do in the area, we only left the property to run to Wal-Mart and out to eat one night. Plenty of fishing, grilling and relaxing. Wonderful owners as well, great communications and they make sure you have everything you need!

This is our third time staying at this cabin and we always have a great time! The place was awesome. We spent a day in Chattanooga at Lookout Mountain, spent time in Huntsville at the Space and Rocket Museum, and also spent time at the cabin and exploring the nearby areas. We found a flyer in the cabin showing a glass blowing studio nearby so we signed up for a class and loved it! We will definitely be back again.

The house was clean and spacious. It was located in a quiet area, but short drives to the Parks. The 9 year old enjoyed fishing and paddle boating. We will definitely stay again the future.

There’s so much to do, yet peaceful and relaxing at the same time! Our kids, ages 4 and 8, loved the property and all it had to offer. They are already asking when we are going back!

My wife and I have enjoyed a trip to Mentone/Ft Payne each year we’ve been together. This trip was by far the best. Absolutely no neighbors or other cabins within view yet only minutes from town. The cabin was so cozy and the easy to use fireplace was awesome. The tv near the hot tub was made the perfect set up for the cool,windy days. I can’t wait until next year for another stay.

This is the kind of place you want to come back to. We thoroughly enjoyed the property. There was plenty to do to stay entertained…fishing, hot tubbing, grilling, paddle boating, and the animals were an added bonus! We will definitely miss the donkey and the pony. Absolutely wonderful hosts, very kind and helpful! We are already planning our next visit!

Amazing get away from it all where our family could unplug. Beautiful cabin and Christmas decorations were beautiful. The highlight for us was definitely our donkey and pony friends we made. We spent hours at the fence with them and the cows. Our kiddos even named them. Hot tub was great too and already completely warmed up upon arrival. Both kids (despite having their phones taken for the trip) hated leaving and begged to come stay again. Thank you for a great weekend getaway!

Upon arrival chris called to check in. Mentioned the hot tub pump was out which was a bummer but he had it fixed before we arrived! The house was beautiful, the land just everything! The donkey and the mini horse in the pasture that is adjacent were also so cute and friendly! The hospitality was incredible!! We cant wait to reschedule our next trip. Its quiet and secluded just relaxing!

Great place and even a better host, Chris was as nice and helpful as anyone could ever be. We found a water leak under the kitchen sink and Chris responded immediately, although it couldn't be fixed due to a broken faucet he tried his best. Super nice man. The only thing we had an issue with was the bed, it squeaks every time you even wiggle, a quiet king sized bed would make this place over the top and perfect.

The cabin was absolutely fantastic. The place was clean and cozy. Location is private and quiet while also being close enough to anything you could possibly want to do. My husband and I rented the property for our anniversary. Our sons also came to Ft. Payne with their wives & six children, staying at another VRBO. Their families were so impressed by our cabin that they spent a great deal of time with us there for campfires, paddle boating, fishing and dinners. We did catch a couple in the back pond! The owner was very friendly and very helpful. His farm animals greeted my husband every evening when we'd return from sight seeing. This house also has everything you need for a great vacation. *I would only note that the kitchen faucet needs some attention, but that didn't change our overall experience

We stayed here a few nights and it was very pleasant. Chris was communicative and was available for any questions we had. There’s a hot tub overlooking the pond and a relaxing porch with a swing and tv. I enjoyed staying up at night by the fireplace. Oh and almost each night, a miniature horse and donkey would stop by the side yard for some treats!

The online pictures do not do justice to the property. It was so clean and inviting. We had family members come over for a cookout. Everyone was impressed with the cabin. The kids did not get bored because there were things for them to do there on the property.

I do not usually do reviews but not to give Chris (host)a outstanding review would just not be right. The cabin was one of if not the best VRBO we have ever rented. Clean great location and everything as advertise and more.The only bad thing my wife wanted me to leave her and return home without her. Outstanding 10/10 stars. Thank you Chris for a great stay !!!

An amazing weekend getaway. Simply beautiful, relaxing hot tub under the stars and enjoyed fishing off the dock. Cabin was absolutely gorgeous. Was able to see alot of nature (red fox, rabbits, racoons, cattle and more. Our family plans on staying again.
