About this house rental
Located in one of the primmest locations in Chalkidiki, Possidi this 160sqm house will offer you lots of space to accommodate your family or friends. It's right in front of the sea, a perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful vistas to the Aegean Sea, the mythical mount Olympus and the long summer sunsets.
The Space:
This brand new Beach House is organized in 3 levels and its part of a summer villa complex overlooking mount Olympus and with direct access to the seashore. It has 4 bedrooms with double beds, all with great views to the sea. The living and dining area are big enough to fit 8 people comfortably and there is an outdoor dining/sitting area which is ideal for summer relaxation. The attic at the top level features an open large bedroom with an en suite bathroom along with another independent corner room. The mid level consists of two bedrooms and a large bathroom with a bathtub. There is a generous balcony that can be accessed via one of the bedrooms and one more right outside of the main entry. At the bottom level you will find a spacious living room with a fire place, the dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a third bathroom and a washing machine for clothing. The main element of this house is the ground terrace which works as an extension of the indoor living areas, as you will be spending a lot of time there. It’s perfect for dining, playing or relaxing anytime of the day. Furthermore, you will enjoy a generous garden where kids and adults can play safely or just relax.
The villas & the architecture:
This housing complex is named “Theovigli” which in Greek means “overlooking the gods” at mount Olympus. In Greek mythology, mount Olympus was the “base” for the gods. As the site is located right in front of the sea, you will have unobstructed view to the sea and the amazing sunsets. The villa is designed with care to fit in the environment with traditional elements as stone, wood floors and metalwork from local craftsmen. You will enjoy the breeze and the sound of the sea from all the rooms and you will have three large terraces and a garden for outdoor activities. If you visit during summer, you will be mostly living outdoors.
The Neighborhood:
Possidi is located at the Kassandra peninsula in Chalkidiki which is part of Northern Greece. Chalkidiki is famous for its beaches with blue, clear water and golden sand surrounded by pine trees.
Possidi offers a long 8km seashore where you can swim, bike, run, kayak, go for snorkeling, fishing or wind-surf. If you feel more adventurous, there are a couple of beach bars in less than 2km where you could rent jet skis and other sea equipment. Whether you are looking for an organised space to relax while having your coffee/cocktail or whether you are seeking for some solitude by the beach, this place has it all.
You will find supermarkets, bakeries, fish market, gas stations and more only 10' away by car and there are a lot of tavernas (typical greek restaurant) and bars around. The tavernas serve fresh seafood and lots of ouzo.
There are also other villages to visit by car in case you want to explore more. There is ancient Mendi and the Posseidon temple of historical interest, Fourka and Kalithea for nightlife and plenty of bars, Afytos and Kassandrino for a more traditional experience and Porto Valitsa for a romantic drink. Needless to mention that there are tons of different beaches to visit.
One of the best beaches in the area though is probably the 'Possidi Lighthouse Beach' which can be accessed by car (5') and then walking (15').
Getting around:
Thessaloniki airport (SKG) is the closest one to the area. Driving from Thessaloniki to Possidi will take you approximately 1 hour. There is also public transportation (bus) which can take you to/from Thessaloniki and to/from the adjacent villages. Although our recommendation would be to rent a car as it is much more convenient to get around with it. Also there is a dedicated parking space next to the property.
Guest Access:
The entire property will be available to you once you get the keys. A dedicated parking space is located near the house only 30m from your doorstep. There is also a shared basketball court at the top of the housing complex. Feel free to walk around the complex in case you want to experience different vistas.
Interaction with Guests:
You may reach out to us via phone at anytime in case you have any questions about the house or to get around the area. We will also be available in person if necessary in order to help you and make your vacation as pleasant as possible.

We have been around Northern Greece a lot in the past 15 years and Phaethon's house is the closest to perfect we have seen so far.
Here it goes, in order of priority (for us):
- Amazing sea view. You only get that if the house is above the sea level and there is nothing obstructing the view. Preferably facing south to west so you get the sunset as well. I will just say that most of our photos from this vacation feature the view from the house and the sunsets over Mount Olympus.
- Crystal clear turquoise water. I mean, when we look for a vacation house, we literally scout the coast on Google maps satellite view for the right water color. I won't say this was the best we have seen but it certainly passes with flying colors.
- Close proximity to a beach. You only need to walk a few stairs down to the beach. Which is, indeed, semi-private and that means you are either alone or with the very few (nice and kind) people from the adjacent houses.
- The house. It is clean, spacious, beautifully furnished, and very well equipped. Kitchen has everything needed, and more (first time I see a dedicated ice-maker machine in Europe). The only thing we brought was a Nespresso machine but that’s because we are particularly picky about our coffee. We did not use the air conditioning at all but were glad it was there for our peace of mind. We have had more than one sleepless night elsewhere.
A special mention about location – the Kassandra “finger” (or “leg”) of Chalkidiki is very easy to cross east to west. For us that meant then when we had bad weather (north-western wind) we could just drive for half an hour to the east cost and still have a perfect day on the beach there.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind when considering this house.
- If you are with small children (1-3 years) you will have to keep a close eye on them when outside. It is not the type of yard where you can leave them play unattended. We are not in that situation, so not an issue.
- Another is that if you plan to eat out a lot you should be prepared to drive. The closest good restaurants are in Possidi, which is 7-8 min drive (and 45+ min walk). For us it was only a minor inconvenience, plus we cooked and ate at the house most of the time.
And finally, the host. From experience, a host can make or break a holiday. Luckily, it was the former. We have nothing but good things to say about Phaethon.
In summary – it was one of our best summer holidays ever.

Everything was excellent, the house had the Mediterranean Spirit we were looking for, rooms were full of light and every one of them had a view of the Aegean See. There was a small beach next to us that was separated from the central beach line by few big boulders. It's feel almost private beach.
I'm looking forward for my next vacation at the same location.
Strongly recommend for everyone that looking for to stay away from the crowd and enjoy the Magic of Greece.

We can definitely say that the whole process of renting, getting support from the house owner Mr. Phaethon Karanicolas and staying at his house was very pleasant experience. The place has a wonderful view, especially the sunsets directly into Mount Olympus, easy access to a private beach and plenty of space in and around the house itself. The house is fantastic, clean and very well equipped with everything, which is necessary to have holidays at sea. I would also mention fast internet connection, mosquito nets and facility rooms on each floor, on each level. Fantastic stay, and thank, keep this up.

We stayed here for two weeks in August 17and felt like in heaven. The house itself is modern and typically grecian style in decoration details. AC, wifi, tv, dishwasher, BBQ etc and even more are available. The views from the balconies and the terrace were amazing.
It takes only a few hours and we felt at home. Good internet connection is also available, which was very important for the children and makes the lifes of the parents easier. To be honest, we would like to recommend this house to everyone. The Hospitality of our host Phaethon and his wife was outstanding and please accept our best thanks for this.

Very clean and well maintained house at superb location in close proximity to semi private beach. We have stayed for three weeks in August enjoyed tranquility, weather and nature. We had excellent stay and holiday. Hospitality of our host Phaethon and his wife was outstanding. Good internet connection is very convenient for those who need to stay in touch. Extra air conditioners at the first floor would be beneficial during the hot days.

We spent a week in August/September 2015 in this super cosy house and had a wonderful time. Phaethon is a great host, responsive and available as needed.
The house itself is modern and lovely in decoration details, providing the guests with everything one could ask for (ac, wifi, tv, dishwasher, bbq, etc) and even more (beach umbrellas, some board games, etc). The view from the balconies and the terrace is amazing!
The location of the house is also great -- it takes less than a minute to reach the beach (which is not very populated since there are only a few houses nearby).
Overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely recommend it to everyone!
