About this bed and breakfast
Come enjoy the perfect weather of Florida in the fall, then relax at Casita Bonita, our 2nd story detached studio suite, which features commanding views of the canal and sunsets 365 !
Nestled amid the lush tropical foliage of the Paradise Coast of Southwest Florida, our comfy accommodations are perched high above a seemingly secluded waterway, yet centrally located between Naples, Ft. Myers, and Sanibel. Minutes away from legendary Barefoot Beach, Bonita Beach, and Lovers Key State Park, and bicycling distance to grocery shopping and fine dining.
Have morning coffee or evening beverages from our lofty balcony while watching fish jump, beautiful exotic birds and butterflies, and even the occasional otter, dolphin, or manatee. Our local canal system, all connected by the Imperial River, offers miles of scenic paddling opportunities, or take a short drive with your paddlecraft to enjoy almost limitless mangroves and hidden backwaters of the 190 mile Calusa Blueway Paddle Trail.
Launch your own boat from the nearby Imperial River Boat Launch and meander up-river to tie it up at our 60' long dock, or rent a boat nearby for a day of sun-splashed adventure on our amazing local waters and the Gulf of Mexico.
Enjoy sighting fish from the dock, throw the days catch or some steaks on the grill, and relax by the canal front on our mini-beach with beautiful white sand for the kids. Then, experience the sparkling effervescent waters of our brand-new swim spa with bluetooth sound system.
The kitchen is large and full of features that will be appreciated by everybody from the casual cook to the chef.

The apartment was lovely. Very large open rooms, with huge windows to let in the Florida sun and ocean breezes. Large open concept kitchen and living room, bedrooms are spacious and have plenty of storage for short or long stays. Kitchen was well equipped (but don’t touch the wine bottle on the counter-it’s just for decoration). Since we stayed during covid, we cooked almost every meal had had plenty of cookware, dishes, silverware, and even oils and vinegars, plus some spices. The large slider door to the porch let in an abundance of light, and the porch has several comfortable plastic Anarondack chairs. One was broken but laid in pieces in the corner. There was an electric grill on the porch that we tried to use one night, but didn’t quite get hot enough to grill steaks. I’m sure it would be fine for hot dogs or burgers. WiFi was good, except I could not get a signal from the porch. Easy and convenient location to shopping and a 10 minute drive to the beaches. The driveway had plenty of space to park, but don’t get near the garage door, even if your space is blocked. We came home from the beach the second day, and there was another car in the driveway. I parked as close as I could, but still managed to slightly block the garage door. Minutes later the owner returned and opened the front door and yelled at me to move my car. Very friendly encounter. But there were plenty of beach towels and chairs available to use.
It’s a great place to stay but don’t expect warm hospitality or welcoming graciousness from the owners. They were consistently rude during all interactions. Never offered any greeting or hospitality.
About 2 hours after we left I got an email from the owner claiming we broke a chair on the porch, ruined the cuisinart coffee maker, drank a bottle of wine that was left on display on the counter in the kitchen and stole a wine opener. It was a very harsh and insulting email. Then I remembered that the owner required either a $3000 (!) damage deposit or an insurance policy be taken out. I opted for the policy. And she filed a claim for over $300 in damage and theft! So I called the insurance company and reported the fraudulent claim. 3 days later she apologized, said the “culprit had fessed up” and retracted the claim.
So it’s a nice place to rent for sort or long stays, but take pictures and report any damages immediately. Don’t expect any warmth or graciousness, and beware of the owner.

Great Location - Newly built
The location is perfect. You are isolated in a quiet area with a great view from the balcony. However, you are also minutes away from great beaches and restaurants. Also easy access to grocery stores. Would recommend and stay there again! Hosts are very nice and welcoming!

Over all the property is lovely, spacious and great balcony. But I was a bit put off by how it was not cleaned. The bathroom was cluttered with left over toothpastes, shampoo etc, that had hair, and sticky, handles were not wiped down. Some kitchen utensils were not properly washed all the clocks were a different times. It looked like that it was quickly cleaned , rushed dusty under beds and left over t shirt from a previous renter was not removed. These items showed lack of care and did not reflect the daily price charged. The one time I brought it to the owners attention, I was dismissed by a statement that it was okay for liquid soaps to be present.

We had a great stay at this casita in SW Florida.
This casita was a very clean and well-equipped place to stay. We enjoyed the small balcony with a view of the canal every morning for coffee & every evening for wine. Host MaryAnn was easy to work with and easily accommodated a late change in dates for us. Apartment is newly updated and modern. There are quite a few stairs to get there but that was fully disclosed on listing. Conveniently located -short drives to Naples and Ft Myers. Would stay there again.

So it all started when The owner Maryann replied to a text when I asked if I could check in early with "Ok its ready for you now", then when I dropped off our suitcases at 10:30am and went golfing. Later she text me again saying what I did was totally inappropriate. When I met her later that night I showed her the text she sent me saying it was ok, then all she wanted to do was change the subject by telling me how hard she works during the day. She then gave me her personal cell phone number and asked me to communicate with her through that number, because she sees those texts much quicker. Then that night I text her on that number because none of the tvs in the house were getting service, she responded 2 days later??? The plastic furniture on the balcony is very old and dry rotted, and when my friend sat down both back legs snapped off and he fell to the ground, hopefully he does not have to have surgery again on his back. We were told they had 2 dogs which are very friendly, yet while we were there they had 4 dogs which are in the common backyard where the hot tub is and they barked all day and pooped was all over the back yard so needless to say we did not frequent the hot tub. As we sat on the balcony, me and my friend watched very large rats running around the back yard. Also all the beds were very uncomfortable. I will not rent again and would recommend that others stay clear of this one...
