Top spot

Big roomy studio unit in a top location minutes from Sao Bento station. Spotless well fitted out apartment with everything needed including a washing machine. Communication with Nuno was clear and he quickly responded to our requests by what's app. Best stay in 2 weeks in Portugal.

Apartment could be a bit warm at night. If having a late night and gate is locked, go through the underground car park as we discovered.

Clean apartment in a perfect area.

The property was very clean. However, there were some major problems. It was advertised as a one bedroom apartment. Anywhere in the world a one bedroom apartment means a bedroom separate from the living room. However, when we got there, there was a couch in the bedroom. The living room was not separate from the bedroom. When I asked the hotel owners about this, they said that booking.com did not have anything to describe what they had. So. They decided because the kitchen was separate from the living room/bedroom it was a one bedroom. This is utterly ridiculous. I had to sleep on the floor in the kitchen, because my companion snores so loudly it is impossible to be in the same room with her. I asked if we could change to a one bedroom, but they said they were entirely booked. I wonder if indeed they had a one bedroom because what would they advertise it as since they were advertising a bachelor as a one bedroom. I asked what they would call a one bedroom apartment and got no answer. This was a bachelor. A studio has the kitchen living room bedroom all in one room. Bachelor has the kitchen separation, but the living room bedroom is in one room. Next, the bathroom, which was lovely, was a horror story. The shower, which had great power completely soaked the bathroom. The plexi glass bath shield was totally inadequate. No matter what I did water sprayed everywhere. Soaking towels, night clothes, etc. in order to wash my hair, I had to by hand use the shower rod to wet my hair, then turn off the water, lather it up then turn on the water again, rinse it off then turn off the water, put it on the conditioner, then turn off the water, let it soak in for a minute, then turn on the water again to wash it out. Then I had to soap up with water, turned off, and then turn on the water again to rinse off the body. My friend who has some mobility issues, could not use the bath at all. There was no bathmat to stand on when taking a shower. And the bath was slippery.

Extremely beautiful city with lots to do and see, and a good choice of excellent vegan restaurants.

The location of the Sao Bento Cardosas property is outstanding - vey close to the central square, main train station, and numerous attractions, but in a peaceful square down a side-street, so with a safe, quiet, and private feel. Clean and spacious, with comfortable furniture and restful decor. Well-appointed kitchen. Multiple doors open to the square for an easy traffic of sunlight and fresh air. The small balcony was a bonus.

Porto is currently (April 2023) undergoing some major infrastructure projects as they build a new Metro line, which led to some very minor inconvenience when moving around (streets dug up, short detours sometimes required). But this is nothing to do with the property - and anyway didn't have a big impact.

Great place, perfect location walking distance to most of the top attractions, there are many restaurants and caffes in this area. 2min to metro station. Room was very nice and clean, good size.

Very good choice for a nice and clean home away from home.

The apartment was in a very good location and amenities were very good. The design and furniture was very tasteful. This was the best apartment compared to the other 4 we stayed at on this trip.

The apartment was advertised as a one-bedroom but the bedroom and living room was in a single space. By American definition this is a studio apartment & not a one-bedroom (which technically should have separate living room and bedroom).

The location of the apartment is its advantage and disadvantage. It is in the very center and at the same time close to the train station. The trouble is it's very noisy at night. The equipment of the apartment is very rich.

The downside is the noise at night and the lack of air conditioning.

The location was fantastic; very central but still tucked away so it was quieter at night. We also loved having the balcony!

Wine glasses in the cupboard would have been nice plus a broom or dustpan to sweep up as we were there for 7 days and the floor did get dirty.

Good location, beautiful apartment, but no bedroom as advertised - just a bed in the living room.

The location of the apartment was great - so central and near the train station, yet situated on a quieter courtyard. The apartment was beautiful, especially the many tall french doors, the tile in the bathroom and the lovely kitchen. It was very clean and well kept (except for the sofa bed).

The information given on the Booking.com site says the apartment has 1 bedroom with 1 bed, and a sofa bed. This is not true - there are no bedrooms. There is a fold down bed (Murphy bed) in the living room and right next to it is a sofa that can be made into a bed. We chose this property because we wanted some privacy while sleeping, but it was not as advertised. Even though the price at booking includes the sofa bed, I was later informed that if I wanted to use it, i had to pay 25 euro extra. I don't think this is fair since it was shown as part of the offered facilities. Then I had to open it and vacuum it myself because it was full of food stains and crumbs. At checkout, the hosts charged me again for using a sheet and pillow cover for it, even though I paid 25 euro for extra linens. i had to argue about that and they did remove the charge. I would have chosen another apartment if they had told the truth about the no bedroom situation. I think they should correct the photos and information on the booking site.

As central as possible!

The apartment was well located and gorgeously decorated. The bed was very comfortable!

The apartment was missing some basic amenities especially in the kitchen (papel towels, extra garbage bags, etc) however it was nothing much and I didn’t bother to contact the hosts about this. Im sure that if I did they would have solved it as they were very helpful with all the other topics.
