About this cabin rental
This Quintessential Catskills Cabin, built in the 1930s as a gentleman's hunting lodge, on 3 acres, is the perfect blend of old and new.
Lots of original wood detail & character, but with updated clean kitchen and baths. Excellent cell phone reception, cable tv and wifi. All of the modern amenities at your fingertips, including brand new washer/dryer.
Pet owners will be happy to have a fenced in part of the yard off the back deck.
Forget your worries and escape to nature. Disconnect and swing in our hammock beneath the birch trees. Make a bonfire in the stone firepit. Drink a cup of coffee on the screened in back porch and likely see local wildlife traipsing through the woods . Lay out in one of the chaise lounges and observe humming birds feeding from our wild flower garden.
When you're ready to join the world again - the towns of Woodstock & Phoenicia are nearby. We are perfectly situated between the two --- so you get the best of both worlds. 10 miles to the east, along Wittenberg Road (one of the Catskills' most beautiful roads) is the artists' commune of Woodstock - known for its galleries, theatres, artisan shops, restaurants and famous artist residents. Then, 5 miles to the west, you get the country feel of Phoenicia, under the shadow of Mt Tremper, known for its famous breakfast spot w a cult following “Phoenicia Diner.” Woodstock Brewing , Foxfire Mountain House are 5 mins away on Rt 28 and Harana market - recently written up in the NY Times - only 5 min drive along Wittenberg Rd. Catskill Pines is even closer. Boiceville IGA Supermarket is 1 mile away and so is the original location /
newly redone Bread Alone.
There are a multitude of activities within driving distance - both outdoorsy and cultural. We are behind the Catskill Interpretive Center which features the Esopus FireTower and some small trails. The Ashokan Rail Trail (Boiceville Access) is only 2 miles away. This is without doubt the loveliest section of the rail trail - perfect for jogging or biking or dogwalks. Dozens more hikes and restaurants within 20-30 mins. Can make recommendations. This really is the epicenter of the Catskills.
Use of Winne Lodge's board games, poker set, dvds, books.

We had a very nice stay, again. Will certainly come back ...

I absolutely loved our stay here. There was ample space for myself, my family, and our 2 dogs during our week staying here. The property itself was ideal when we wanted to simply relax for an evening, either inside watching a show, reading, or enjoying the firepit outside. In addition to this, the location also offered us easy access to numerous trails, towns, and landmarks throughout the area. During our stay in the summer, there was no shortage of exhibits, festivals, concerts, and similar events nearby to enjoy. I certainly loved our time here and I definitely wish to return again in the future. I would highly recommend it to anyone else as well.

Turning into the driveway of the property was so picturesque and serene, looking down the long gravel slope of the driveway and wildflower patches in full bloom bobbing to the breeze and soaking in some rays.
It was just two adults and a dog, and there was plenty of room for more. We utilized the appointed kitchen with gas range for some home-cooked goodness, and watched some TV and played some Scrabble. A good number of books and board games peruse through were on the bookshelf in the den.
Beds are very comfortable, and the air conditioners, while a little noisy, cooled the house down to a comfy temp, and we didn't have to use it again for the duration of our stay.
It's rustic, which is very clear in the listing and the photos provided. This is a plus for us, as it adds to that "mountain feel" we were looking for. There were a few webs and spots that could use a going over, but we were happy staying here.
The location is great as it's not far from Phonecia (as tiny as it is), Woodstock, Saugerties, and Kingston.
Blaze, our host, was helpful in directing us to some points of interest, responsive, and was a pleasure to rent from.
This was a wonderful stay.
Now back to reality.

Had a great time relaxing by the fire and experiencing the fall foliage around us in this charming cozy cabin in the woods! Could not have asked for better hosts!! From recommendations around the area to some farm fresh goodies to welcome us! Our senior dog also enjoyed the stay as well!! Hope to return again one day!!

The Winnie Cabin is very cozy & comfortable. It provided a great setting for me to read and convalesce. My son enjoyed the trails with his children. The host was very accommodating and our stay was truly a pleasant experience.

This is our second visit to Winnie Lodge, our first in winter and we love it even more. It is easy to settle in and make it your home away. Plenty of space for our family of 4 and dog in this serene location. Can't beat watching light snow in front of the fire. Plenty to do is surrounding Woodstock and Phonecia. Communication was excellent and Blaze goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay.
Highly recommend

Winnie Lodge is rustic and funky in the best of ways, and with all the amenities you would like! The screened-in porch is a dream, and the property is beautiful. The weather was not our friend on this trip, but the house has air conditioning if you need it, and a ceiling fan, plus individual fans. We were always comfortable inside despite hot and humid weather! And when it rained (which it did, a lot!), it was lovely to sit on the screened-in porch and look out into the woods while we ate, played games, listened to music. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped and usable; we cooked all but a few of our meals. And there's a terrific grill on the porch. The area has lots of walking, hikes, and places to eat. Our host was absolutely the best--friendly, communicative, accommodating, responsive. I cannot sing her praises enough. Thank you for everything!

A very clean, well maintained and properly managed log cabin that you should go see for yourself! 5 stars.

The home feels very secluded, yet it is close to a supermarket, liquor store, and some restaurants. It is also a short ride to many beautiful hiking trails and attractions. In three short days, we did several hiking trails, visited Woodstock, the Vanderbilt Mansion, and ate at The Pines and Hickory BBQ & Smokehouse nearby.
If rustic cabin is what you’re looking for, then this is absolutely perfect. It is rustic but modern and very clean. The cabin has all the amenities to be comfortable, with the rustic cozy cabin feel: Wi-Fi, TV, dishwasher, washer and dryer, thermostat, microwave, etc. The cabin is also dog friendly. The backyard is fenced (with wire), which was wonderful to let our small dog run around.
The kitchen is well equipped with pretty much everything you may need. Me and my family made some delicious meals. Some in the kitchen and some in the grill in the screened in porch and the romantic globe lights (oh the ambiance).
The bedrooms were very comfortable and adorable. They had good quality sheets and pillows and we rested very well. The home also had plenty of towels and sheets and the bathroom also contained the basic needs.
The owner is absolutely the best. A few days before your trip, you will receive a very detailed email with pretty much everything you will need to know. She even reminded me to put a tick medication on my dog! (which I would’ve forgotten). The communication was superb.
I can’t recommend this place enough. We visited in the fall, and the colors were beautiful and the weather was great. But this place would be perfect anytime of the year. We will definitely visit again.

My husband and I loved it here! This lovely cabin has a surprisingly well equipped kitchen, gas grill, screened in back porch, 1.5 bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms. Everything was well maintained and very comfortable. We especially liked the remote location! The owner was friendly and helpful.

Perfect weekend or week get away in a cabin nestled among trees that feels like you’re a million miles away from everything but you’ll still be super close to all the good stuff. Perfectly appointed with everything you need, the real difference is the communication. Owner is incredibly welcoming and the detail she provides is better than any other property we’ve stayed in. Every need is looked after and the property is just spectacular. Thank you!!!

We had the most wonderful stay at Winnie Lodge. The cabin is equipped with everything needed for a homey feel. The setting of the cabin is within the woods and yet close to much. Great communication with Blaze, the owner. I will definitely return!!
