About this house rental
In the heart of South Bay - this is a great place to recharge the batteries.
This is a 'bring your own linen' house. There is no cleaner so pls be prepared to leave the house clean and tidy for the next people. Let us know if the property is clean tidy when you arrive thanks :)
One minute stroll down the reserve path adjacent to the harbour to see where the penguins are nesting or check out the fishing boats and whale/dolphin watching operations, potter round the rock pools or go for a swim.
Step out to the Peninsula walks, up to the views and back or take the challenge of the loop round the Peninsula to view seals close up, into town and back over the reserve walkway to South bay.
Launch your boat ahead of all the others first thing in the morning - parking inside for a 14' or plenty of room on the grass verge. Or snorkel at low tide - clean your catch in the sink/fish cleaning area round the back.
Safe for all aged children - property is fenced.
Penguins nest around the Coast Guard - if you have a dog, make sure its on leash in that area.
If you notice any damage, or things not working let us know by text email so we can get onto it.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
Smoking allowed outside only, please pick up buts.
Pets welcome too if sleep in their own beds/crates, own food bowls, please pick up any doggie doos, tx. back of property has a 6 ft fence.
Not suitable for tradesmen, or outdoor workers
Note Max 6. With one bathroom incl toilet property is too small for 8 people (I don't know how to change it to 6, sorry.

Amazing little batch. Couldn’t fault it. Great communication throughout and great detail in how to open up and get the hot water etc sorted. Would definitely stay again 10/10

The house was clean and tidy and was as described in the booking. A classic family bach a stones throw from the beach and boat ramp. Great to be able to take our dogs also

Stayed for a month and it became home for us. Great location for all activities in the south bay/kaikoura area and the house has everything you need in a comfortable, clean condition. We didn have any issues but im sure the owner would deal with any promptly.

Like the bach feel of this place with all amenities. Close to the Walkway and the beach. Beds comfortable and kitchen well equipped.

Very happy with the accommodation it had everything we needed and very close to the main part of Kaikoura. Quite and relaxing with lovely scenery. Would definitely stay there again.

Warm, cofortable, homely Bach, well located - we had a wonderful few days there and would love to come back some time. The outhouse could be aired a little more... but overall a very pleasent place to stay with Friends or Family

The house was great. Lovely and clean, spacious and in a perfect spot for us to explore the area. Sally was really easy to communicate with and we had no issues.

We all had a lovely cosy stay here. Great facilities. Awesome communication from Sally. Plenty of activities around us to enjoy during daytime and then relax on the deck afterwards.

cute cottage, would definitely like to return, however by then we hope the owner has been able to spring clean the cottage as was quite musty. Can not use the garage as is full of furniture and only a small car can access the property for off road parking

This was a lovely cottage to stay in, with a great gas fire in the living room. Very handy to the peninsula walk and also the walk up and over the hill to town. Easy communication with Sally and would definitely recommend.

House is stocked with everything you need. Sleep out is fantastic to throw the kids in and house is nice and cozy warm. Even has a couple of epic tubs of toys for little ones. Walkway to the bay is right next door. Will definitely come back.

A wonderful find. Charming modernised 1970’s batch full of character from a rich family history. Super close to the sea without the wind.

We've stayed at Wakatu Cottage several times and always enjoy the peaceful cosy atmosphere regardless of the time of the year. Great access to a range of activities with a comfortable base to operate from and always appreciate being able to have our dogs stay with us.

We really enjoyed our stay here, a great location and comfortable property and lots of nice touches to make for a comfortable visit for the whole family. A great fenced yard for the kids and the dog too! Would love to return.

Have rented this property numerous times and find it a great place. The host amazing and very responsive to messages, perfect location and like that it is a reasonably basic kiwi bach that can really enjoy.

Wonderful location, very close to the boat ramp and the beach. Our dog Charly would wait on the veranda for us to return from fishing each day. Really enjoyed our stay.

Such a lovely property. Was perfect for our family to come and stay and enjoy the town for the weekend. Lovely location within walking distance to some nice beach spots the house had everything we needed and the kids loved the garden
