About this house rental
Five Bedroom house with 3 1/2 baths overlooking the cove, dock, and enjoy the babbling brook next to the home. Full service kitchen, large deck overlooking the lake with hot tub, and grill. First floor master bedroom with ensuite bath, upstairs, two queen bedrooms with one jack/ jill bath and one queen and one full bedroom with shared hall bath. Billiard room right off the main living area with additional seating area as well. Open concept for dining, kitchen, and living room area. Laundry room and half bath close to open areas, and close to the deck and hot tub.
The deck overlooks a private cove off of the main section of the lake. The cove allows for fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, and kayaking without too much boat traffic.

Rita was prompt, professional, and friendly. The house was very well stocked, maintained, and comfortable. The surroundings were amazing - sitting on the deck amongst the trees, with a small view of the lake - was perfect for relaxing. The cove was fantastic for the kids to swim. Being at the end of a long road offered quiet and seclusion. All in all we had an amazing vacation, which very much had to do with this rental and the owner.

this is our 5th year staying at this property and we absolutely love it! Rita is great and so responsive. The house is beautiful and well maintained. The path through the woods to the lake with the little cove for our kids to tube and swim in is perfect and away from the craziness of all of the boats. We will continue to come here, it is our favorite vacation!

This property feels beautifully private but is accessible to all the fun of the lake. Great layou for gathering, to accommodate noisy family members and anybody who wants a little bit of privacy too. The views are stunning. There are trails in walking distance. We look forward to staying in warmer weather, but have stayed here twice: once in snow, once for Thanksgiving. Beautiful. We chose this house because my mother has mobility issues. She was able to stay in the master bedroom, and be a part of everything, including the feel of being “in the woods.” Our young adult children enjoyed each other in the little party/ billiard room and the hot tub. Best hot tub set up: right off the laundry room and bathroom for an easy in-and-out in the crisp weather!

Great house on the WISP side of the lake - kitchen was loaded up with useful items. Great room was spacious and comfortable (especially the massive couch). Deck, dock, hot tub and pool table made the vacation :)

Our time at Shadybrook was wonderful. When we arrived, the house was in immaculate condition, and simple items such as toilet paper, tissues, and trash bags were there! With 3 cooks the kitchen was a dream relative to other vacation houses we’ve stayed at. There was ample cookware, and a drawer of spices which we loved. The living area was conducive to family time, and the back deck was perfect. The walkway next to the house with the little stream was so soothing. The check-in was a breeze! We would highly recommend Shadybrook as a vacation home, and would consider staying here in the future.

The property itself is very nice. It’s secluded and wildlife abounds. My wife and daughter saw a bear cross the driveway and my granddaughters and their parents saw a bear cub cross another driveway nearby.
My issues involve the rental agent. After having returned a signed rental agreement and paying for the rental, I was asked to sign an amended rental agreement. As it would have been difficult getting all the necessary signatures, I said I would sign the agreement and get the rest of the signatures when we arrived. They agreed. A few days later I was told this was insufficient and when I pushed back, I was told that they wouldn’t give access to the property without the signed revised rental agreement. But for the fact that my grandchildren would have been very disappointed, I would have not signed and asked for my money back, as one party cannot alter a previously agreed upon contract.
Additionally, several days into the rental I became aware that, at least, one of the cameras on the outside of the property was live and was being monitored. That made myself and the rest of my family very uncomfortable. I think potential renters should be made aware, up front, that cameras are live. I didn’t see any cameras inside the property, but I can’t be sure there weren’t any. For this reason, we left the property several days early.

We had a great time at Deep Creek Lake. The house location was perfect - the cove was calm and great for swimming, and we made good use of the dock slip by bringing our boat. Was easy to get to McHenry and associated kids activities. Would absolutely stay there again!

This was our 4th year staying here and we just love it! It’s the perfect spot for our kids as they can play in the creek and get into the lake as there is a little shallow part. It’s a beautiful well kept house and Rita makes sure you have everything you will need! The kitchen is so well stocked, it is easy for us to cook meals as we always have everything we need. Rita is so easy to communicate with and she is extremely responsive to any questions or requests. We will continue to vacation here as long as she will let us!!

Great house, spacious kitchen, good sized rooms and beautiful views! You can relax by the fireplace, or in the hot tub looking at the lake or shoot pool- whatever way you relax there is something for you! Host also communicates very well and is very accomedating.

A group of ladies came to play golf and see the colors of Fall at Deep Creek Lake and our stay at Shadybrook was amazing. The house is beautiful along with all the rooms and furnishings. There is plenty of room for families with children or adults with a large group!! The kitchen had anything you would need to cook with along with spices, coffee makers, abundance of dishes and glasses. Fully stocked!! The owner is wonderful and available to answer questions whenever needed. Can't say enough good things about this rental!! We will definately be back!!

The property was on a quiet cove. The deck afforded a view of the lake. Access to the dock was easy. The kitchen was very well equipped. The house was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Everyone had a wonderful time.

It rained all week but we had a great stay! Perfect location with quick lake access to take advantage of a break in the storm for a quick kayak trip. Close enough to shops, other activities, but beautiful wooded property to enjoy a soak in the hot tub or morning coffee on the deck listening to the babbling brook. Great place to be stuck inside and hang out with family :)

Deep Creek Getaway
Second year in a row we have stayed at this beautiful property. Our children loved playing in the stream and swimming from the dock into the lake. The dock is on a wonderful inlet that has great boat access and is perfect for swimming, fishing and paddle boarding. House was immaculate and has a great kitchen and family area. Very quiet and serene, and we hope to continue to make our visit an annual tradition!

Great family ski trip
Our stay was amazing. House is huge and beautiful, as well as very clean. The property is beautiful with lake views and a babbling brook beside it. Great for exploring. Wisp ski resort is a short 8 minute drive which allowed us to hit the slopes early and avoid crowds. Kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of space, great game room with pool table and tv for kids. You won’t regret booking this place!

Presidents Weekend Family Ski Trip
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The layout was perfect for our crew. Large family room with great view of the lake was awesome. The fully equipped kitchen made family dinner in easy. And the hot tub on the deck was a daily treat after skiing. All the bedrooms were comfortable & clean. The boys enjoyed the pool table and the well stocked selection of board games. The best Deep Creek Lake house we ever stayed in!
You can't go wrong with this house. Fully stocked with anything you may want - from linens to salt/pepper/aluminum foil, olive oil, 50 different kind of spices/hot tub, pool table, numerous TVs, great location (proximity to the slopes, grocery stores), wood for the fireplace, etc. The house was in immaculate condition. Over the years, we've rented 20+ different houses in Wisp area. This house was the best.

Wonderful stay!
Great spot to celebrate Christmas with scattered family members! Clean, comfortable home with great layout in a beautiful setting. Kitchen is well stocked and worked well to have a few of us cooking. We enjoyed games, walks to the lake and in the neighborhood. Great communication with the owner. We made great memories here!

A Great Family Time
Shadybrook is well located, a very nice house, spacious and a great layout for the three generations of our family who enjoyed spending a week there.
A word of caution, if you plan to use the dock area, the path to the dock can pose a challenge with the rocks and exposed tree roots

Fantastic family spot
Our family had a wonderful time in this beautiful home connecting, enjoying nature and each other. The house is a treasure, beautifully decorated, clean and a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed being able to walk to the lake and the jacuzzi when the weather was nice and playing pool and watching movies when it rained. We also enjoyed making meals in the well stocked kitchen.

Awesome house! This was an incredible, private, quiet, and secluded location, yet close to all Deep Creek Lake has to offer. House was immaculate and already stocked with just about everything. Owner was responsive and attentive, and made sure our stay was just what we needed! Lots to do in the area, yet if you didn't want to leave the house, they was plenty to do there as well. Hot tub was clean and relaxing. Creek beside the house and trail to the lake were both amazing. We would love to book another stay here and hope to do so, in the future, if we can. Thanks, Rita!

Perfect!
Our family had a wonderful vacation at Shadybrook. The house was well stocked from kitchen to baths, and all was clean and in order upon our arrival. The kids had so much fun playing in the stream which is right next to the house. Bring your water shoes! Thanks for a great stay.

Amazing getaway on a great property that is quiet and yet close to everything
My wife and I and our 3 year old met up with family for 5 nights. The property was just as advertised with great communal space indoors and outdoors and a kitchen that has more utensils and things you might just need but forgot to bring than any other rental I have seen. Location is perfect for getting back and forth quickly from hikes, boating, golf, or food. Firepit, grill, babbling brook next to the house, and lake outside the window - can't ask for much more than this. Rent this house - you will love it

Exactly what we needed and beyond!
From start to finish, my experience working with the property owner was outstanding. The house was immaculate when we arrived. Checking in was a breeze. The property owner even stayed in regular contact when we needed her to help answer basic questions and even in helping us find things to do, which there were an assortment! The weather was not great and we still managed to have an unbelieveable time. The hot tub was just as advertised, as were all the ammenities! This is a gem of a place if you're lucky enough to find it. I really can't say enough about it, including the very reasonable price. Thank you thank you thank you!

Perfect Winter Getaway
This house is beautiful and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay during COVID. The owner was so responsive and caring, which made us feel safe staying there given COVID restrictions and a snowstorm. As we actually worked and went to school during this time, I have to mention that the WiFi was perfect! The house itself, with amazing views of woods and lake was comfortable and had everything we needed for family meals, and hanging out playing pool and in the hot tub. We were there during significant snow, so enjoyed hiking down to the lake, and just playing on the property. Wisp and grocery store are close yet we felt "away from it all." We so look forward to going back in other seasons!

Relaxing weekend
We had a great time last weekend. The house was better than expected. Plenty of room for the 6 adults and 4 children in our group. If arriving in the evening, the house is a little bit hard to find. It's located on a culdesac and the house number is a bit hard to read at night. If you plan to do tubing, be sure to reserve your tickets about a month in advance. They limit the number of tubers due to COVID restrictions and the spots fill up fast. Not being able to tube was the only disappointment of the weekend.

We had a great time at Shadybrook. The owner was very easy to communicate with and very responsive. She made sure everything was available to us shortly after arriving. The hot tub was working properly but the next morning she had someone repair it. Location is great and we are already thinking about a summer stay!
