Location, cleanliness, amenities, food all.
I have stayed at this property quite a few times. Front desk staff members aren’t fluent in English now? This aspect should be looked into.

The surrounding environment and the ambience of the lobby area. The software is amazing from the service of the housekeeper, Ms Mary Lee, and the Director Ms Karen You who walks the talk and ensure every guests is well taken care of. Ms You went the extra mile to check on me when I had a fall in my bedroom. Though there are various interns who are new to their job, with her exemplary customer service, many exceeded the expectations - thanks to Ms Dorra and Ms Susan.
The gym and the smell of the carpet. The staff did an excellent job in removing the smell when I raised my concern on the musky odour. Thanks to all, for the awesome job.

Good location, nice pool, helped with a shirt left behind.
Bathroom is starting to age. Tiles missing grout and toilet leaked a tiny bit. Minor things but should be addressed

it's my favourite location in the city and now subway station is just 200m away. Many decent and high quality eateries and even spa around the corner. Walking trail along the famous yuan-dang lake is just across the street from the hotel.
The check-in was clumpsy and they got my surname and even gender all wrong. We found out later on when we tried to use wifi and facilities. Quite surprise that they are assigning very green staff at front desk who were obviously unfamiliar with the system and were very nervous facing customers.
We arrived at 2:30pm and was advised that we had to wait for 2 hours before we can get the room as it's a busy season. Since I booked a room at the club floor, they suggested we waited at the club lounge.
The room was quite dated - well I know it's not a new hotel but the stains and scratches.......
The breakfast spread was very so so, so was afternoon tea at the club lounge. They used to be quite a feast. Within a few minutes walk there are plenty of bakery and local breakfast choices. I tried a few - very good!

Ended up staying at business/exec suite, but worked out great. Currency exchange on spot, concierge helped called the taxi to the front door. Afternoon tea and cocktail snacks were quite excellent, the bakery is extraordinary and I was told by my local friends the bakery is top notch in town. Koi in the pond are huge, and there are many of those rare color koi, quite enjoyable
The initial booking was canceled when arrived first day in the morning due to peak traveling season and typical check-in policy is 3 pm-12am, the message left might not have been checked. If booking could allow entering message in Chinese, could help. But reported to deputy director of sales, he promised this won’t happen again. Provided business card and asked to email him directly. The room was booked while flying west coast, the leg flying China did not get Wi-Fi working.

Location is great, staff is kind and helpful. One of the best hotels in Xiamen.
I booked a cabins room with direct access to the pool. Although convenient, the room was old and not well maintained. However, during check in the front staff warned me for that and offered an upgrade for little money which I refused so hotel is not to blame.

The location was great there are many great bars and restaurants nearby
The rooms were too old acrually everyrhing about the hotel is really old and only few employees can speak english. The batroom was extremely dirty. There were hair all around and pretty old

Location is nice, just next to the river and to the coffee street, so it is not really needed to have breakfast at the hotel. The swimming pool is very nice with amazing view
It is a little old and outdated. The location is in Siming (main district) but a little on the side

(1) the staff was phenomenal & superstars! From front desk to bellman to concierge, everyone was super friendly, readily available to help and very accommodating
(2) the room was super clean and comfortable - thank you housekeeping team!
(3) we had a few hiccups with our initial room but we were quickly assisted in switching rooms and the whole process was seamless and smooth. Thank you for the accommodations! We truly appreciate it very much!
(4) the dining room for breakfast was small and quiet. The options were a bit limited but nonetheless, it was enough and very comfortable and relaxing
(5) the lobby was super neat, cozy and open. Very relaxing and welcoming when waiting in lobby
(6) the location was perfect (about 10 mins walk from nearest metro station), plenty of mobile bikes around and near the lake to walk around both during day and night time
N/A - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again if we ever visit Xiamen in the future

Marco Polo is situated at a very beautiful location, with many nice cafes and restaurants surrounding it. Moreover, it is close to central sight seeing spots, as well as the ferry port. The staff very helpful, the room very clean, the pool super clean and with a great view. Definitely recommendable!!!

Pool side room was perfect, loved it. Some of the staff were excellent and helped us ordering taxis and exchanging currency. The downstairs lounge was lovely and light and airy .
Staff were mixed some very good some not so good. It wasn't explained to us that we had to use the Executive lounge for afternoon tea, we were just told it was complementary with the upgrade and were charged £50 for 2 coffees and 2 cakes which seemed excessive! My colleagues room was dirty when she arrived as the person staying on the room before her had had a ate check out.

Location, services available in the lobby and nearby the hotel.
Rooms in need of refurbishment, hotel is very old. Wonderful reception, but when entering the elevator everything changes. Hotel in need of better care.

I was upgraded to a suite, that was nice. however over the weekend you had a lot of families with children who ran all over the place and made a racket.
Deposit required upon check in. Such a pain.
