Staff so friendly and chef is stunningly good. Very quiet location. We didn't hear any noise from neighbouring rooms. And some lovely touches... the hand written greeting in the room with two pieces of very nice cake, a pod machine in the room.
And only a short drive or walk down to a quiet beach.
Some of the hotel is a little tired... for instance the window plastic is visibly degraded in places, outside pots and green spaces need some love. It's outside their control but the access to Eype's mouth is single lane roads so don't turn up in anything larger than a car, but that does lead to the hotel environment being peaceful.
Being picky, the muesli is like the one we buy at home with most of the nice taken out of it!

We love the location and cleanliness

All staff were welcoming, friendly, efficient and relaxed - they made the holiday what it was - a relaxing time away.
Food was top class in presentation and quality.
Plenty of safe parking.
Easy walk to the beach and then on to other coastal destinations depending on your stamina.
We would recommend.
Thanks to all the young ladies - you're doing a great job.
Bed a bit small and bouncy mattress.
Road to the property and beyond to the beach needs a bit of care - very narrow with passing places that aren't wide enough to pass two normal sized cars. We got used to it though by making mental note of driveways and passing places wide enough to pass in. Don't let this put you off - the trip is worth the effort.

Loved the room, just the right size for one person. We stayed for dinner and had the best fish and chips ever.!!

Friendly staff, stunning location and we had the set menu in the restaurant which was excellent.

Staff are so helpful, friendly and they smiled a lot. Good food and bar. Nice dining area.
Room and some fittings were old and worn but the whole place seems to be a work in progress so no complaints really.

I have been coming to this area every year for over 20 years now. I have stayed at the Eype Mouth Hotel before but several years ago ( it is often booked out in the Summer). It's location is incredibly peaceful and it's a short walk to the pebbly Eype beach with its beautiful scenery.
I was really pleased with the standard of the room we stayed in. It was a good size and had a sea view. It was well equipped. Wifi worked well. Bed was comfortable and we slept well.
We had dinner in the Admiral's Bar. The bar area has been refurbed and the decor is nice
There was an open fire by the bar. We ate in the bar area adjacent to the bar; it's a bit soulless to be honest (and was before on previous visits. I think putting in some contemporary lighting to create some mood would make a big difference) maybe also make the tables round to enhance the use of the space
We had dinner here and it was very nice - loved the cheesecake - yummy.
Breakfast was also very good. I like that you were able to help yourself to toast rather than wait for someone to service it.
The breakfast room is lovely and light and has nice windows. They were also playing some soft jazz music which I liked.
I had a full English breakfast and greatly enjoyed.
I loved the floor tiles in our bathroom and the in the hallway leading to our room.
We ate in the bar area adjacent to the bar; it's a bit soulless to be honest (and was before on previous visits. I think putting in some contemporary lighting to create some mood would make a big difference)
Our bathroom had a shower with nice toiletries supplied (shampoo and body wash) but the body wash was empty in the shower. I pointed this out when asked and it was refilled when we returned to the room so very happy with that.
I didn't like that the ballroom has a divider separating the restaurant area from the second bar and I think there may have been a desk behind there - it looks untidy.
The grassy area outside directly below our room could do with a bit of care and tidying up
I would have liked some fresh flowers in the table at breakfast (a nice touch I have seen at other hotels I have stayed at of similar price)
Some tissues in the room would be welcome
The food is quite expensive
Might be an idea to leave a feedback form in the room so that guests can leave feedback anonymously rather than being asked what would make it a 10 when you are about to depart.
I provide this as hopefully constructive criticism as overall we had a pleasant stay.

Location and views. Excellent breakfast

The room was small but very nice. A sea view was a bonus. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were great and the little cakes on arrival were a very nice surprise.

All the staff we encountered had a very positive "can do" attitude. The food was all cooked and presented to a very good standard and our room was surprisingly large
shower was a little cramped

Excellent breakfast!
Eypes Mouth hotel was our honeymoon hotel almost 52 years ago! It was lovely to visit it again.
There was nothing to complain about at all.

Fabulous location just a few minutes walk from the beach and walks along the Jurassic Coast cliffs. West Bay is just a mile away along the clifftops. There's also a nice, family run take-away cafe in Eype near the seafront for sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks. Hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. It's a relatively small hotel with comfortable bar area and restaurant downstairs, including outdoor terrace looking toward the sea. Very good quality food for breakfast and evening dinner. Very dog friendly.
Really very little not to like - the decor upstairs where the bedrooms are is darker than the light and airy feel of the ground floor, perhaps because it's not been updated as recently, but still has nice artwork on the walls and is clean and neat. Wifi strength was very hit and miss in the bedroom so perhaps boosters could be added.

Personal were really careful with us, the view is nice, the beach just down there, the food is good, decoration really great (please keep the old floor!) a really great place and nice to get there
Bed is a little bit small (my husband is tall)

We didn't stay longer

Genuinely lovely, helpful staff at reception, in the bar and restaurant, and room service. They handled everything well and made our New Year stay a real treat. They clearly have a good chef as the food was tasty and plentiful, and that was eating in the Admirals Bar restaurant rather than the full a la carte option. The batter on the cod was first class (not always a given by any means!). The hotel is very close to the beach and the coastal path, with a short 'up and over' to West Bay, and a longer walk the other way to Seatown. The weather when we went was awful (wind and rain that soaked us) but it didn't dampen the fun too much and we had two good walks.
The room (we booked a 'superior' for the view) was a good size and, being a corner room, had views to the sea and to the hills to the side of the hotel. Nicely decorated and clean.
We would definitely consider staying at the Eype's Mouth Country Hotel again. Recommended.
There were minor things about the bathroom, such as the low water pressure on the shower, but we had such a nice stay overall that it just didn't matter that much.

It was quite chilly in our room.
The bathroom radiator didnt work at all.
4.1
Excellent breakfast and the staff were most welcoming.Room was clean and comfortable.all round good value for money
Restrictive meal times of an hour made it a little hard to plan your night.Though understandable with the amount of guests. The stairs to the rooms were a bit tight, though they wouldn't be for a younger person.
