Staff very helpful
Child friendly areas
Swimming pool, fairy garden for children playing
Beautiful surroundings
Good times for check-in & check-out
Conservatory restaurant: seat cushions in poor state overdue replacement. Cushions for back support would be welcomed as back is quite far back for dining.
Drawing room: 2 single leather chairs in poor condition,
requiring replacement or reupholstering.
These are due and easily resolved overnight, the property in general is lovely! Will be back soon.

We were upgraded to the main hotel as it was a special occasion for us. Breakfast was amazing and in a beautiful setting. Being in the grounds of the Estate after hours was wonderful.
The room was a little bare.

The location of the Ickworth Hotel is great, direct access to the House, estate and gardens and all activities. Cycling, walking, play for the kids. Good options for families to keep kids occupied, especially younger children. Spa treatment was lovely and movie night a good idea although see below. The swimming pool was good but shame it is not connected to the hotel, a walk across the drive would be a challenge if it was raining. Breakfast options were solid and good options for various dietary requirement available. We had a good meal one evening too, tasty fish and chips, good wine list and Jess kindly let us taste some options before deciding. Staff were super friendly and helpful but I sensed inexperienced overall.
The property is leased from the National Trust and feels like it is trying to do many things as a hotel with a weird mash up of ideas, services, decoration, style and accommodation - overall it was a little confusing and disappointing for the very high price. The staff did well and their best and I commend them but most of them were young and inexperienced, it felt like they were working it out as they went along. It felt like there needed to be stronger leadership, management that I would expect from a 4* hotel at this price point. It is also tired, for e.g. dirty and torn cushions in the breakfast room plus curtain hanging off, obvious dirt behind the staff station. Our room was also tired, comfortable but sparse, wobbly tap, toilet holder falling off, unable to adjust the shower head, limescale, paint marks everywhere and odd uncoordinated decor. Cinema showing is a good idea but needed to be managed better… we had to start the film and sort the room out … with past conference flip charts around and cupboards stuffed with mess again open to be seen.

Great countryside location, fantastic to have a wander on the property grounds! Food a bit pricey but still it was nice. Young staff so still needs training but overall friendly if not fully capable.
Need to go out to go to pool but luckily it didn't rain! Breakfast offering could be widened a bit.

Great location
Beautiful grounds
Had a great stay, the rooms were lovely, historic buildings lots to do and see. Staff were very helpful.

walking around the grounds and sitting in the garden having a drink was an absolute highlight of our stay - a real treat. Dinner in the quiet restaurant was lovely.
Breakfast did look a bit sad but we were a little late around 9.15 and the supplies had been well attacked by that time.

Upgraded to 'Deluxe' 2nd floor room from the Lodge. Breakfast was excellent and staff delightful. Totally dog friendly hotel with dog bed & treats provided (plus a water bowl). Easy access to grounds and park for dog walking.
Vast 'Downton Abbey' style room & ensuite showing signs of age but perfectly pleasant. With investment - could be superb.

it felt very personal and quirky - lovely staff and very relaxed. I really enjoyed the spaces and the decor - lots of unique pieces, and not at all corporate. very stylish.

Staff and surroundings were excellent and hotel was lovely
Didn’t like the buffet breakfast they did for Sunday morning as the previous morning this was cooked and brought from the kitchen to us much better way and I think they should stick with that
Also drinks slightly over priced

Exceptional hotel and a remarkable room - thanks to an upgrade! Beautiful pool, building and park all around.
After a very good dinner offering, breakfast was a little disappointing - In no way bad, though.

The location is very calming.
Given that I don't drive and I was dropped off via a taxi, it was a fair walk from reception to my room in the lodge, (quarter of a mile) I would have really appreciated the offer of help with my luggage. I had to carry several bags alone when it was visibly clear I could have done with some help.

lovely grounds. I stayed in the Lodge which is about 6-7 min walk from main house. Room was huge with beautiful floor to ceiling windows which looked out into a walled garden and the grounds. woke up to see 2 deer grazing!!
Food was good, but limited choice and quite expensive.

Everything
The adjoining door in our room kept banging all night which kept us awake. Had to keep asking for fresh milk and water in our room .
Mentioned at reception but she didn’t seem bothered

The breakfast was very good and the location was amazing. The whole hotel seemed to be of a very high quality and standard. The staff were friendly and helpful at both reception and in the dining area. Although the sink was blocked when we used it they were quick to come and unblock it.
The window was loose and rattled with both the wind and when walking near it. This was distracting when trying to sleep. The windows also hadn't been cleaned for a while, which meant you really couldn't see out well. There was an inter connecting door and a baby crying in the room next door which you could hear a lot. The room was quite warm, even though it was winter, and although there was a fan in the room it was connected at the other end of the room and you couldn't move it closer to the bed.

Beautiful building, good food, excellent service from the staff, plenty of convenient parking. The hotel is marketed as a family hotel and there were many families staying there, however, after three stays as a business traveller I would recommend the Ickworth for business as well as family travel.
No biscuits or milk in the room with the tea/coffee tray. Milk was available on request, but having to go to reception to ask for it was a little inconvenient.

An incredible historic setting within a National Trust Location. Room was fantastic with views over the garden. Restaurant appears to be in an old Orangery. Breakfast was lovely as was the evening meal, great walks in the grounds.
Service in the evening was slow for both drinks and evening meal.

Wider family get together. All children catered for and a very relaxed atmosphere for them. We were also to visit the NT house which was also children friendly with lots of hands on history.
Nothing really as it was children orientated.

Staff were friendly and helpful and polite some stood out out, young man in reception, a young lady from the restaurant, Kassi I think.
All staff good, unusual to find no uniforms.
Breakfast, was very good, varied between buffet and table service.
Bottles of water available in room all day and every day.
Swimming pool nice.
Lovely grounds.
Place was kept warm.
This booked for the wives birthday, missed the small print. Not the luxury hotel we expected more of an upmarket Butlins plenty of kids and dogs.
Room sounded nice on paper, wardrobe a job to hang clothes in, No chair so had to sit on the bed. Hairdryer helpful for the wife but no plug socket near a mirror, ended up asking for a extension lead.
Coffee machine and pods a nice touch but parts of the machine missing.
Shower a balancing act between hot or cold and if lucky 2-3 minutes of good water.
Pool area taken over by young children most of the 4 day stay.
Dinner, was good but over priced, local pork chop £30, sorry a bit steep.
