The location was perfect, the hotel was beautiful and immaculate. The staff were kind.

Only the bed.
I live in Panama 8 years, not in the City, I have stayed in many 4/5 star hotels, we are familiar with Casco Viejo, this was my first stay at this hotel, it is overpriced for what you receive, your paying for the location not the hotel experience and facilities, there are many better hotels in the city for less or the same price and only $5.00 in a taxi to get to Casco Viejo.

This hotel was beautiful, perfect location, and the staff exceptional. From the moment we arrived we were treated as though we were special guests (we weren't). Our room in this historic hotel was large and comfortable. And the location was perfect!
Absolutely nothing was lacking in this hotel. As other guests have mentioned, it was a little noisy in the square by the hotel at night, but we found it charming and the noise didn't detract from our stay. And earplugs were provided if guests wanted them.

I liked everything. Staff was wonderful. The hotel's decoration was wonderful. Location excellent, in the heart of Casco Viejo. Rooms super confortable! A vintage atmosfere.... lovely!
nothing!

The hotel's location was amazing. It is located in the historic district which is beautiful. The building is historic and very charming. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated. The staff was fantastic.
The room was noisy because of parties outside. Also thee is a church right in front of the hotel and the bell from the church rings constantly.

The location is marvellous, right on the edge of Casco Viejo and on the same square as three great restaurants. It's an almost lost remnant of the colonial era so the ambience is lovely. We have been coming to Panama City for quite a few years, watching Casco Viejo get re-developed and I always wanted to stay there but didn't realize they had a pool so always stayed elsewhere.

gorgeously appointed, vintage style, fabulous cafe and restaurant attached.
they told me they couldn’t guarantee that I could book the same room again someday.

We did eat both Breakfast and Lunch at the hotel and it was very good. Unusual for hotel food. Two of our three rooms were right next to each other and the third room was across the stairwell.
Chairs could have been more comfortable in the room. Showers were not equipped to accommodate anyone with disabilities. They should have had some type of handicapped bars. We had to keep a walker in the shower to assist my husband when he took his shower.

Excellent location in Casco Viejo great design and services

We loved our 2-night stay at ATH. It’s a lovely hotel in a perfect location in Casco Viejo. We had a room with a balcony out to the Square, it was picture perfect. The hotel has a lovely, unique style, Aesop toiletries, a well-stocked and reasonably priced mini-bar in the room, very comfortable bed, a small but lovely dipping pool, a fascinating little library and inner courtyard.
Location was very easy to walk to anywhere and felt safe.
Our rate included breakfast, there were several choices to pick from. Ample portions (although the coffee was unpalatable).
Jazz Bar was neat but seems the shows are only once a week or so.
Yes, you will hear some noise at night from nearby restaurants but the glass doors to balconies are double-paned and it really was okay - actually better noise control than anywhere else we stayed in Panama.
Not much we didn’t like! Minor things would be the unpalatable coffee served at breakfast, but no worries just pop over to the front desk and make yourself a Nespresso.
The front desk staff were very kind but the waiters in the dining area were not so much.

The hotel was in a very central position, it was always calm even if all the rooms were occupied at the moment of our stay. Everything is managed and organized with care, the personnel is always helpful and they were all able to arrange our (many) requests, we are so grateful to them!
We loved everything, nothing to add!

Beautiful rooms. Lovely marble bathrooms. Overlooking a square full of restaurants and bars.

Location, staff, Room
Shower in room 111 need looking at. Hit and miss with cold water.

beautiful and clean
nothing, it was perfect

Perfect location on Herrera Square with a great view. Delicious breakfast. Nice shower with good water pressure.
One day the shower was cold. There weren’t many guests & assume on demand hot water.
4.3
beautiful design added to the experience. the outdoor pool patio was the perfect place to relax before heading to the airport.
4.3
We loved the view over the square from our balcony. The building is beautiful and stylish. The small pool was nice to escape to, though the furniture needed attention.
No information in the room or elsewhere, not even about checkout time. The television channels were not loaded nor seemingly loadable. Paint badly scuffed, floor needing repair. No coffee shop or bar or evening restaurant. Food at breakfast could arrive in the wrong order or not at all. Probably the worst coffee we have ever tasted. Orange juice from a plastic container. Minibar items added to the bill we had not consumed. Elevator noise disturbed our sleep. Rear door exits blocked on some nights - fire safety issue.

clean, perfect location

beautiful hotel, good breakfast
the front rooms are on the square and it is extremely loud until the wee hours of the morning. You can get a room in the back of the property, but it is directly next to the church and the bells ring every 15 minutes from 6:30 am until 10 pm

location
lift is old and smells moldy, room to noisy

This is a beautiful hotel with a classic design from a bygone era that integrates well with modern touches. The location is on a beautiful park with a view of the ocean from the rooms facing south. The rooftop pool was especially enchanting and a quiet respite from the neighborhood.
The thermostat needs upgrading. I could not figure out how to use it and though I wished to use the overhead fan instead of a-c, I could not get the fan to work. I requested assistance from the front desk but maintenance never appeared. As a contrast, I am currently staying at the JW Marriott downtown and the modern thermostat was easy to use.
4.3
Nice, classy hotel. Perfect location in Casco Viejo. Comfortable room.
It takes a very long time (several minutes) to get hot water in the shower.
Restaurant and bar a bit lifeless.
4.3
Beautiful colonial style hotel in an excellent location
