Close to the beach, great food in the area, the owners are kind and communicative.
4.5

Beautifully located surrounded by jungle. Stayed in one of the cabins with our 3 and 5 years olds. Very clean and we all loved the experience. Quite place, very much the opposite of Puerto Viejo, which is closeby. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant almost every night, very tastefull! Kids loved the pizza’s and we enjoyed the pasta’s very much. Friendly staff

The location was perfect, breakfast was very good comfy beds, spacious.
Howler monkeys could be heard at night and in the morning, it was very impressive.
Through WhatsApp, it was very quick and easy to get help on site.
No A/C in the room.

- Gardens
- Surrounding
- Near to the beach
- Small place (not crowded)
- Privacy
- Staff attention
- Breakfast without variety and without any drink (except local coffee in the room wich is not suitable for children)
- Room without AC could be very hot some days which turns difficult to sleep
- Mosquitos if you are not careful
- Water shower is low flow
Ok for 2 nights but not confortable for many days if you don't have AC.

Great location, lovely rooms and staff great.
Big plus point was the fantastic Italian restaurant on site. Don't miss the great food they have to offer.
Breakfast also great and nice to have them delivered to your room every morning.
Hummingbirds can be seen every morning from your terrace!

Lovely bungalow in beautyful jungle garden with lots of animal sounds and sights. Beach and some nice restaurants close by. Tasty breakfast served on our terrace every morning.
The owners live on the premises but do not really interact besides the (warm) welcome. Especially when the power went out one evening and everything went completely dark we would have liked to hear from them.

Very cozy jungle hotel in the middle of nature, great carribean vibe. Nice pool and restaurant and tasty breakfast on the porch. The room did not have airconditioner, but nights were cooler and slightly windy, so there were no need for it. We really enjoyed staying there.

Breakfast was great every day and they bring it to your room

Super place with beautiful gardens and the cabinas are stunning. So homely with everything you need and more. The restaurant is right there for dinner and pool a stones throw away. Great with our kids too. Will defa stay again.

The grounds were gorgeous and we saw toucans, monkeys, iguanas, chickens, and agoudi (sp?) on the property itself. The breakfasts were huge and varied. The Italian restaurant on site was delicious (though pricey). The bungalow was bigger than expected and separated just far enough from the others to feel private. The pool was beautiful and with so few bungalows sharing it, it was quiet and lovely. When our coffee maker broke, they instantly delivered a new one!
The booking through Booking.com was glitchy and would not allow us to put 2 kids and 2 adults in each bungalow, resulting in confusing pricing (which staff graciously responded to by email). We did not have phone service and the breakfast had to be coordinated through What's App, which we could not use. But we worked around it. Would be nice if the hours for breakfast were a bit longer.

Location was an easy walk to a gorgeous beach. Great breakfast to start the day. Nice, clean bungalow tucked into the jungle. Nice pool area for a post beach dip.

The Breakfast was delicious and brought to Your front porch at a time You desire. 3 choices every morning! Dinner at their Pizzeria on property was very good! The waiter, Leo was the most cheerful waiter that ever waited on Us. Exceptional service. The location was perfect with a small market across the street and beautiful Chiquita beach a 5 minute walk! Renting bikes at the market and riding to Manzanillo and Punta UVA is a must! Also Purs Gula restaurant across the street is a great choice! El Nido is the perfect place to stay!

The cabins are spacious and beautiful. The garden is also nicely kept. The pool, though small, is a great place to relax.
It would be nice to get coffee with the breakfasts (you are expected to make it yourself in your cabin, but that requires that you go out to buy it first!). The typical breakfast was good, but the granola option was very small. The owner has several large dogs which sometimes roam the property, which is a bit unnerving for people who are scared of dogs.

Paolo was so helpful and just naturaly lovely and supportive of our plans and comfort. The rooms were lovely, clean and spacious! I loved that the towels and sheets were so soft and smelt like fresh washing powder. It gives the traveller comfort that everyBreakfast was served on our front porch and was hugething is fresh and clean. The kitchen facilities allowed us to cook for our family and the privacy and tranquility were just what we needed after 4 months of travel through South America! Bfast was fresh and portions were huge. Served to our deck it was superb. We will be back! Grazie mille Paolo!
That we did not have enough time here in Puerto Viejo!

spacious room with nice garden area
We expected standard airconditioning with the room but didn't have it. So we upgraded the room to one with airconditioning. The poolarea was nice, however didn't look very clean.

1) Lodge/Site: the bungalow was large, spacious, clean and was private. The El Nido Lodge site itself had a gorgeous garden that was very well maintained. We biked around Manzanillo and Puerto Viejo and this is by far one of the nicest place we've seen. We were lucky to have chosen it!
2) Amenities: A very big plus for us, as I had to work while being there, is that the wifi was perfectly good for this; I could take my zoom, upload files, etc. The fully furnished kitchen was also very much appreciated as we cooked often and ate on our balcony. The breakfast was also tasty with fresh fruits and generous portions. Finally, the owners run a very good pizzeria on the site so it was very convenient for us to just walk up to grab some nice italian food when we did not feel like cooking. If the fish on the day is on the menu, be sure to try it!
3) Location: The location was perfect for us. We found that the heart of Cocles was very busy and the hotel options were not as private. On the other side, this is where most of the activities happen. The great news is that right across the street from El Nido there is a bike rental shop so you can rent a bike for US $6 per day and from there it is a 5-10 bike ride. El Nido is also a 5-10 minutes bike ride to Manzanillo which has one of the nicest beach in the area (along with Cocles and Chiquita). There is also a grocery store with all the essentials (food, alcohol, some pharmacie items, etc.) across the street. Overall, I don't think you can get much better location than that.

Owner was very helpful, had a lot of space in the bungalow, location was good too as could easily cycle around Puerto viejo.

The rooms were spacious and clean, with a nicely decorated bathroom. It was also nice to relax in the gardens and the restaurant had good pizza in the evenings. There are some beautiful beaches just 5 minutes walk around the corner (but not direct access). We could park our car at the property in a safe, gated area. There are also a couple of other reasonable restaurants close by.
It was Covid times in our stay and so breakfast was served at our room, which was fine but we were asked to clean our dishes etc from the breakfast before checking out. Sometimes it’s nice to not do these things on vacation.

We booked this accommodation spontaneously since we extended our days at the beautiful Caribbean beaches. The cabin we had was very spacious, and it included a full kitchen, which was helpful since we were suffering from some stomach bugs and were able to cook for ourselves. The beds were comfortable, the shower worked well, and we had a little private terrace where we received breakfast every morning. The breakfast is quite abundant, and you choose between traditional Tiko breakfast or vegetarian. The parking lot is very easy to access, and there’s also a pool which though we didn’t get to use it, seem to be cute. We’ve heard a lot about the Pizzas of the owner, but unfortunately were there just doing the resting days.
In our case, some of the other guests seemed a little problematic, as a family or friends had rented several cabins, and there was noise till late at night, music blasting at the pool and such. Usually we wouldn’t have even noticed most of it, but since we were down with a stomach bug, we were at the cabin most of the day. A minor detail, it’s hard to roll your luggage to the different cabins, as the stone path isn’t smooth. So we had to carry our heavy luggage all the way to the back of the terrain. In full transparency, we did not bring any of this up with our hosts, as they for sure would’ve been accommodating.
2.5
The lodge has 4 casitas. Our casita was large enough for a family of 4. We liked the patio with the hammock. The staff and owners were friendly. They let us checked-in earlier, which was much appreciated. The pizzeria onsite is very good (the owners are from Italy).
Over-priced for what you get.
Mosquito nets would have been nice as we had a lot of mosquitos in the casita.
The included breakfast was ok but did not include any beverage. There is a coffee maker to make your own coffee in the casita, but if you don’t drink coffee or have kids, there is nothing else to drink.

Good room, with enough space and really close to the different beaches. The treatment was really kind from the owners and team. Unfortunately the weather didn’t help but it was really a nice experience.
A little more cleaner pool but it was understandable as it was rainy.

Spacious beautiful bungalow. In the well-maintained garden you can spot various wild animals. A short distance from the most beautiful beaches. Very nice Italian restaurant.
No shower gel. No fruit juice at breakfast. You can hear the road.
