The experience of staying in a traditional Japanese home/inn is amazing. Although dated, but it is tidy and clean. Bit of character and charm in this lovely lodge. Surrounding views are amazing! The owners only speak Japanese, but makes the effort to use Google Translate to help communication. Google doesn't get it right all the time, but we managed. Lovely old couple managing the place. You can pay a little more to arrange for the owner to cook you a traditional Japanese breakfast. It's the best breakfast I ever had! Great for people who are willing to understand the Japanese culture and experience the traditional Japanese way.
This is a lodge/inn with communal facilities. If you are not into this style of living, it not gonna work for you. Good for people with communal living experience and able to live with many other people in the house. The traditional Japanese homes are constructed with wood and light walls, so you are able to hear, people talking and walking around. Bring earplugs if you want good sleep. If you want to enter and stay in a traditional Japanese house, there are rules to follow; like taking off your shoes and different slippers for different locations, timing for keep quiet at night, timing to turn heater off in room, etc. Be prepared to follow these rules and not make life difficult for the owners and others. I stayed at this lovely location for 2 weeks, following the rules and learning how to live like a Japanese. The most amazing experience I had. Not for people who are used to fancy hotels stays.

Excellent location to all the Myoko ski resorts/fields and the hospitality was great too. The elderly lady gave us a detailed tour of the home.
The water from the bathroom taps didn’t have hot water and the dishwashing facilities were not fully equipped with proper dishwashing liquid and clean scourer.

Great location, close to ski fields (some even walking distance) and restaurants.
It has its own onsens that were nice to use after a day of snowboarding.
Rooms were spacious with lots of storage.
Lots of parking outside.
The lady who runs the accommodation is very nice and gave us some fruits and vegetables.
THIS IS NOT A SKI IN accommodation. You have to walk along a busy public road to get to and from closest ski field Ikenotaira.
Common areas are cold, heaters turn off every 3 hours (even in the dry room, so in the morning it will be as cold as outside).
No common areas to hang out, no decent cooking facilities. If you are travelling with a group of friends and staying a few days in Myoko, i would recommend booking something else.
It is also rather old and not very clean. Although it is run by a very old couple so it's understandable.
The aircon in the second room was not working so the guys had to ask for a heater.
Walls and ceilings are very thin so you can hear everything that's happening outside of your room.

It was an old style Japanese house run by super lovely elderly couple. They were extremely friendly and helpful with providing information, booking taxi, etc. Also, Japanese style breakfast was absolutely delicious!
The room is a bit cold, but once you turn on the heater, it warms up within 3 min.
Also, the accommodation is just 5 min walk from an onsen.

Hospitality from the owners.

I came here for the snow and enjoyed my stay here, the owners Yuko and Teruo were super lovely and really made me feel welcome. This is a quiet area and the closest ski resort is at Ikenotaira which is a quick bus ride up. Bus services to other Myoko resorts are also within easy reach.

Japanese Breakfast.
It was a Japanese style lodge which we were expecting in general.
The owner was very helpful in organising taxis and using iPad translator to clarify discussions.
It was advertised as ski in, which it wasn’t, to get to the nearest ski field was a long walk up hill along road. The free shuttle bus was to late to get to ski field by opening time, but at least it was available.
The common use area was tiny and only had 2 chairs. Photos on site indicated other areas that were only available at breakfast or used as private area by owners.
Smelly kerosene heaters although they did heat up the bedroom.
