Fantastic location in Blue Mountains. Excellent breakfast cooked to order. Lots of space and comfort.
A long way to take luggage up from car park but I guess it may was built before cars!

Check-in with the housekeeper was swift and easy. We had use of the whole living and kitchen area plus our bedroom and bathroom. The outside terrace is fabulous with incredible views down towards Kingston. Breakfast is cooked on site by the housekeeper - we stayed three nights and had three different traditional Jamaican breakfasts. All superb.
Nothing really. Just remember that this is an old house. It's a historic location and consequently the property is dated. We liked it. It is not squeaky clean and pristine - it is like stepping back in time. The house is wonderful but if you need all mods cons then think carefully. WiFi is excellent. There is no TV. As I say - we liked everything about this place.

We had the most wonderful stay.
The place is magical and has beautiful gardens with tropical flowers and fruits. And has information in the gardens about the old coffee farm that used to exist on site. We loved watching the fantastic variety of birds on the beautiful veranda. The hammock around the side of the property was another fantastic spot and the fireflies at night provided a private firework display. We loved it. Our room was comfortable and extremely clean. There was a mosquito net (necessary). The showers were hot. The breakfasts ample, fresh and delicious.
Since we didn't hire a car we were extremely glad our host Mrs Hart put us in contact with a local driver, Desmond, who was fantastic. Desmond helped us book at Craighton coffee estate (a fantastic experience, we learnt so much and the place is beautiful) and afterwards dropped us at the army base so we could climb to Catherine's peak. If others are interested the walk takes about an hour but is very, very steep so be aware. It is mostly shady given the trees. Views at the top are good and it's easy to walk back to the cottage afterwards (downhill!)
For those not driving and wondering about food, we came with a driver from Kingston and bought supplies at a supermarket in Kingston for our 2 nights. We were glad we did this. EITS cafe is about 40 minutes away and very good, but we enjoyed cooking at the property and playing scrabble in the evening.
Finally, we had an extremely kind welcome given it is our honeymoon, we so appreciated this.
I would strongly encourage others to book at this unique, friendly and beautiful spot.
Thank you for our wonderful stay which we won't forget.

The staff was waiting for us on arrival to show us the features of the cottage, then returned the next morning to make a great breakfast. This is a great value (particularly for a family or small group). The gardens and views were really fabulous.
We didn't know we needed to bring cash to pay for the booking; they were expecting us to pay in USD but accepted JMD cash.

I would highly recommend Barbecue Heritage cottage. The view from the porch is stunning, overlooking the blue mountains, down to Kingston and the sea. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The breakfasts were delicious and every day we were able to taste a different local dish. Our hosts looked after us very well, Basil was always available and our driver Desmond was really helpful and suggested some great places to visit, including restaurants in Irish town and some lovely walks near the cottage.,

Stunning views and location incredible. The garden is absolutely beautiful and worth getting there early to explore and walk to the army camp where more incredible views across the mountains and Kingston await. The property is authentic 1800 cabin and therefore has not been changed which is charming and maintains the history. A real gem. The staff are charming and Jamaican breakfast was made for us which was delicious and using authentic ingredients. Overall experience is restful and quiet.
Was unaware of the exact price due to Booking.com. Listed as a price but went up when I arrived as I believed I had said that we were a party of 3. The way that booking describes it appears there are 3 beds and I thought I was paying for that. To be Noted the property expects CASH in US dollars. I was not aware of this and there are no cash machines for miles. This would be important to note to guests.

Everything.
Needed one or 2 larger cooking pans. We were cooking for 6.
My confirmation was different from hosts. The host had been told to include breakfast, did this and invoiced accordingly. We didn't book breakfast. We sorted this with the host. The problem seemed to be with booking.com.

Beautiful scenery, and views. A very vast garden and terrace - lots of areas to relax.
Great breakfast.
Loved that they provided mosquito nets and candles.
Well equipped kitchen.
Would have been great to have been warned that there aren't many shops nearby to buy food and drinks for dinner.
