Breakfast was excellent. They have their own garden hence food was farm to table fresh. Clean, delicious, generous varieties and all well presented. Simply yummy! Service from the staff were par excellence. They were very accommodating and responsive to our need especially on the one night due to a thunderstorm our unit suffer a blackout and water shortage. The staff immediately open up one of their premium suite for us to shower and stay the night.
Perhaps more plugs at table level as travelers these days has many gadgets to charged. Also to improve the water pressure in the bathroom

Clairement rien. Nous nous sommes sentis chez nous.

the rooms and grounds were fantastic.
the animals were gone which our kids were looking forward to seeing. The restaurant was ok, would be good to see some improvement on the service as communication seems to be an issue

The people especially those working in the restaurant, nothing was too much and everything possible. Mr Lan and his team in the front of house were always ready to help and did everything for us. Arranged Tuk Tuk to go to town give Alms and tickets for the train.
The location was a bit far from town and $12 was a bit excessive for Tuk Tuk for the hotel to charge! Would be great if there were few more shuttles! 5.45 last shuttle. Tents don’t have air con which can be hard at night to sleep. Pool area is a bit basic!

Restful and peaceful. Amazing staff so helpful. Loved the ethos of the lodge focused on sustainability Rooms were very comfortable, clean and well.looked after and facilities were everything we needed gym, yoga, freshwater swimming pool and spa to mention a few. . Villa was luxury in the midst of nature. Lovely food very tasty and great that it offered vegan options as my daughter is vegan
Not advertised that all the activies incurred an extra charge. It would be good if this was made clear.
The glampng tents do not offer air conditioning. The write up seems to suggest otherwise which was a bit of a shock..the fan wasn't sufficient. Also at night it can seem quite scary as it's dark. My friend spent one night and then moved in with me in my villa! Having said that the glamping tents were gorgeous.
Breakfast was amazing buf I suspect if you stayed for a while it would become repetitive .

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were so friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Beautiful quiet location by the river. Our Glamping tent was exceptional.
Bit far out of town on a dirt road.

tent with river view was stunning
great to have a good fitness room, lots of activities to do at the resort
strange you have to pay for the cup of tea at your tent, think this should be as the water for free

There were so many activities for the kids, they loved it (and so did I because I got to relax and read my book!). Staff was also excellent, very accommodating. Food was fresh, vegetables coming from the lodge's organic garden.

Brilliant staff, everyone so friendly , helpful and welcoming. The Explorer tent was awesome, spacious and gorgeous. The food in the restaurant was really good too. The setting is stunning, 15 mins from town. They have a limited free shuttle.
The beer was always warm (needed ice). Also, it would be great to have more comfortable seating and lounging options around, especially on the 'beach' where there was only one sun lounger, otherwise very hard low wooden chairs

Great breakfast with homemade bread and fresh produce from the on-site gardens, excellent coffee, very accomodating staff. Breakfast goes until 11am, so one can enjoy morning yoga or horse riding before their breakfast! We enjoyed very much the yoga classes which were held in an amazing, peaceful shala with river views. Our kids (7 and 9 years old) were able to run free on the property, play with animals, and water the crops in the garden; they took a package of 10 hours of poney riding classes which they thoroughly loved. We also enjoyed the outdoor cinema with popcorn, warm blankets and a standby waiter for drinks or food orders. Perfect getaway for couples or families, to reconnect with nature in a peaceful environment.
Be prepared with warm jackets for cold nights in January. The resort does a great job making an outdoor fire at the restaurant in the evenings, and offering warm blankets. Rooms were equiped with heaters if needed.

The Laotian staff members are really lovely especially the staff at reception and at the restaurant. Everyone was very polite and friendly. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the (French I think) manager and a staff member at reception who kindly insisted on carrying our heavy suitcases. Also, I'd like to mention that we had booked train tickets from a tour company that was supposed to deliver the tickets to the resort. Reception at the resort was very helpful in chasing up the tickets with the tour company.
Although our stay was a short one (only 2 nights), I can sincerely say that I will miss the staff there. One of the restaurant staff said that working at Namkhan Ecolodge was like being part of a family. I completely understand what he means! I also think that it's cool that there are Laotian ethnic minorities employed at the resort. Laos is a multi-ethnic country after all.
I do hope that I'll get the chance to travel to Luang Prabang and stay at Namkhan Ecolodge again when I next visit my relatives in Laos. Improvements are being made to the resort, so there'll be more activities to look forward to. During our stay, my father and I went kayaking and bike riding (loved both!) It was also fun to just lounge around in the restaurant overlooking the river. My mother, who is picky when it comes to food, absolutely loved the food at the restaurant. The chef was also kind enough to pop out and have a little chat with us. One of the reasons why I chose to stay at Namkhan Ecolodge was because the restaurant caters towards vegans. Hopefully, there'll be even more vegan dishes added to the menu in the near future.
I wouldn't say I had any dislikes about the resort. I should mention, however, that food at the restaurant is a bit expensive compared to elsewhere in Laos. This is probably because the ingredients used are organic.

1. I asked for a pickup at the train station for a fee, but there was no reply and I had no choice but to take another car because I did not know if he would come. Very umcorfortable to charge without replying. didn’t confirm time car number and pick up point !!! but charged!!!
2. 40 minutes wait after ordering dinner. Too late.
3. They charged me 50,000 kip for losing hotel's mosquito repellent.

Great place to relax in the nature. Very tasty food and the Explorer tent was really wonderful to stay in. The stuff helped us with the railway ticket-it was not so easy to get one. Our daughter was riding twice a horse because she loved it so much.We would came again!
It could be a better road to the Lodge and the Shuttle was after 5:30 pm only possible if we pay extra, but the night market in the City start at 5 pm. Quite a lot dogs.

The Ecolodge is exactly what we were looking for, perfect combination of comfort, quality, sustainability and friendly staff. A really unique experience that we would highly recommend to others. The food was also excellent!

Elegant and luxurious tent accommodation. The property is beautiful and allows you to get back in touch with nature. The restaurant serves fantastic organic and healthy food. Plenty of options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. The location of the hotel is idyllic and really gives you the camping and farm life feel without the bother that goes along with that usually.

The only thing better than the beautiful location is the kindness of the staff. They went out of their way to accommodate even my difficult dietary requirements. I am grateful for a lovely stay. Thank you NamKhan :)

The staffs are super friendly. They made me feel like staying home. They are very responsive to my request and tried their best to help, I felt impressed by this.
The property is far from the town and be accessible by dirt road. The road is dark and have limited light so it’s recommended to just stay inside the resort as there are plenty of activities there.
Special note: there is a crematorium just right in front of the the entrance of the resort. Go ahead if you don’t mind that.
