This house was a perfect base for exploring Custer State Park as well as visiting Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, and Jewel Cave.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The house was exactly what my family needed for the week, and was very nicely located near Custer. The backyard had large rock formations that the kids loved climbing on and the deck with the grill and fireplace was a nice amenity. The only downside was that the sink had a pipe underneath that was broken and the owner had remedied by sticking a tub underneath to catch leakage. Also, the owner was not very quick to respond to emails throughout the week.

This was a great getaway for 9 adults, teens, and babies. Close to many attractions, Wind cave, Jewel cave, and Mount Rushmore. Property was well maintained with a great deck to read, make s’mores, and relax. We had some deer visit us each morning and night. Good price for the area. Would recommend!!

My adult children & granddaughter's enjoyed doing yoga every morning on the deck. The house was very comfortable, surrounded by nature.

It was a great place to stay. Would book again.

The property was wonderful. The neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. The house was exactly as listed/pictured. The kitchen was well appointed with all necessary dishes and cookware.

This was a great experience for our family. Quiet and secluded with large outdoor space but close to all the great places to see in Custer. Would definitely stay again if we have the chance

The property itself is very well kept. You can tell there's been upgrades made recently which is a plus. The only downside was the internet company was repairing the line and shut off the wifi for several hours. Everything else was great though

Beautiful area! Our overall stay was wonderful. The location was close to downtown Custer and somewhat secluded. However, my daughter's room smelled musty, and the shower had mildewed around the shower door. It had 3 bedrooms with plenty of beds for a large group/family. We didn't bring our pets but there is a large fenced-in yard for dogs. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay.

Everything was lovely with this home. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals and the large outdoor was a joy for eating. Check-in was easy. Best of all was the big screen Smart TV for watching movies at night. Will definitely return.

We brought our Yamaha RMax 1000 to this location and we’re able to travel 200 miles throughout the Black Hills had a wonderful time beautiful property

The house needed a little extra cleaning. The towels smelled bad, the shower door has a gross crust around it, and not everything was dusted. The kitchen is missing some essentials (cutting boards, large frying pan, serving spoons, etc). The "leaving" instructions need to include "clean up your dogs poop". I had to clean up A LOT of other people's dog poop when we arrived.
It's a great location and we enjoyed the overall experience.

This is a great spot to use as a base camp to explore Custer and the surrounding areas. The fenced yard is great for dogs and the deck is a nice place to spend time outside, the scenery in the yard is beautiful. We also cooked meals and spent time relaxing at the house. We love Custer and this place worked wonderfully!

We had a brief two night stay, but found this home to be very comfortable, well appointed and a nice quiet setting. Really appreciated the fenced yard for the dogs and laundry room entry!

The home is exactly as described plus more. Home was very clean, it was stocked with all necessities in the kitchen and bathrooms. Living room and bedrooms were perfect with four adults a toddler and a baby, we were all very comfortable. Icing on the cake was seeing wild turkeys in the yard and feeding the deer some celery from the deck. A definite place to stay!!

My wife and I stayed here with our 2 young boys and another couple. It was just outside of the main area of town, and was the perfect location. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and watching the deer. It was quiet, but convenient being close to town. I would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was clean and well equipped, our only complaint is that the tv needs an update because Hulu and Netflix didn’t work.

Went to cut firewood at my sister's property. Stayed at this lovely place. Loved how piecful it was. Loved having the fenced yard for our dog which is very hard to find when traveling with a dog and she's a runner if she gets a way. So have that yard made it so worth it. And we will definitely be renting this place any time we go to my sister's property up there.

If I could give this place ten stars, I would. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and our children loved playing on the property while we were there. Everything exceeded our expectations!

Everything was nearly perfect. Location, surroundings, cabin organization. We enjoyed staying outside on patio. The dog faience is very handy particularly at night.
My recommendation to managers of the property to put heavy window curtains to master bedroom - this will keep it cooler in the summer.
Thank you!

Well located and had enough beds, so it met those needs for our stay. However, for the price I expected much more than received. The kitchen was poorly appointed (no large bowls to mix anything. No large spoons for cooking/serving). The TV was unwatchable, a “smart” tv, but hulu plus and netflix were the only viewing options, could not add anything else (appletv or disney plus or amazon) - therefore my kids could not watch anything. The overall feel of the place was slightly dirty despite that it was obvious that cleaning had taken place (carpet was still wet in spots). If they had charged half as much, I would have given 5 stars and felt that I had received what I had paid for.

This home is in a great location to use as a base to see all the attractions in the area.

Great 3 bedroom rental with a quiet, private feel and fenced yard that worked perfectly for our kids+dog. The kitchen was well appointed with all the appliances and kitchen-wear we needed to make a family breakfast and dinner each day. Also it was really nice to have a washer and dryer on-site in a little mud room area directly accessible from the outside (our kids get muddy!). There was snow when we came, but the unpaved road up the hill to the home and the driveway were clear and well maintained. Our host Melissa responded quickly to questions and inquiries.
Easy drive to everything in the Black Hills area including Wind Cave, Custer State Park and Hot Springs, the monuments and all the other little gems like the fossil museum in Hill City.
Definitely would recommend this place to others.

Very nice single level home with a dog yard for the dogs to play and not worry if they took off.

We made this our longest stay on our family vacation, and though the property was nice and location great, it was clean and quite. My reason for removing star is becasue when we arrived, it was 103 outside and this 3 bedroom 2 bath house has a single window AC unit at the front of the house and the master was sweltering. We eventually did realize that it does get cool in the night, so if you like fans in windows and outside breezes this is for you, but if you want central AC not so much. our overall experience in Custer and area made up for any discomfort.

We enjoyed our time here. Nice property that is close to many family attractions. It was a good "home base" for everything we wanted to do in the Black Hills!

Just right for us
Had a great time at this property all week. Nice blend of Custer town liveliness and easy access to all the fun and beauty of Custer State Park and the Black Hills National Forest. Restful, just out of town location. Home was nicely set up with very comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen (including condiments/spices/coffee) and a porch to sit on under the Ponderosa Pines.

Comments
This is the first property where we have stayed at in Custer that we had to strip the beds and start the laundry before we left. Plus the big bedroom you should get an air conditioner for that bedroom, or have a fan, or get some drapes that keep the light out better to keep the heat from the sun out. Was really warm in there till late at night when it cooled down. We did enjoy our stay though.

Beautiful Property In A Quiet Neighborhood!
Easy check in and check out. Large enough for 6 adults and one teenager to have plenty of room.
Large kitchen for cooking family meals. The gorgeous property surrounding the house was so peaceful. Very quiet and lots of birds and deer. Comfortable beds! We really enjoyed the large deck every morning and evening!

We loved it. The privacy was great!
Master bed was very comfy.

Cozy cabin with lots of room
Overall great stay at this cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed to make all of our meals. The living room is cozy for everyone to hang out and the kitchen table had plenty of space. Everyone said the beds were very comfortable, the king best was a little high and soft but I have a tempurpedic bed which is very firm. It was awesome to have the picnic table outside and the laundry room. Suggestions for improvement- direct tv did not work, need cozier outdoor furniture, some light bulbs were out, and need better shower pressure in the full size shower. Also, update the listing as the owner stated when i asked that there is no hammock. One of the days the temps were in the 90's...the back bedroom with the king bed was super hot and stuffy.

Extended Weekend Trip
Parents, my husband and I came from Sioux Falls with our dog. Had a great time, saw turkey and deer at the property. Second time booking this property!

Holiday get away
This was a fine home and had all that we needed. Just not anything special. We enjoyed the area but felt the rental was overpriced for a winter get away. Summers offer a lot more for your money here. The property is dated and was missing a few small items. It lacked charm that would be easy to infuse in it's décor. Also would be nice to update towels and check for kitchen essentials. I doubt it is used much in the winter and the cleaning showed that. It felt like a company owned it and it just wanted a quick buck and not a fun experience for it's guest. Since we came over the holidays for an entire week we thought it would have been nice to show a little holiday spirit in the home too. We had a great time and stayed warm and enjoyed our week because family always counts first and that was what we were there for,

Great place for family and dogs. Very clean when we arrived. Could not get over how quiet it was. Nice large kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. I would stay again.

Perfect relaxing vacation spot!
The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Close to town and the grocery store but remote enough to enjoy the peace and beauty of the black hills.
The teenagers loved climbing the rocks, hubby and I loved walking around the property. So beautiful!
Only thing that didn't work was the fire ring outside....

Very quiet and relaxing
Just minutes from town but secluded and very quiet. We did get visits from wildlife morning and evening and also a brief visit from the neighbors dogs. (They were very polite and only came to say a quick hello.) We enjoyed the deck and outdoor gas fire ring each night. Great place!

Custer Vacation
One suggestion we had was having the fenced in dog area mowed, otherwise it was beautiful!!

Great choice!
We loved this house. I was worried with some comments about cleanliness, but it was very clean. Beds were very nice and area was quiet and peaceful. A great place to come relax after seeing the sites. Very close to Custer. Kitchen was very well stocked and my boys loved playing in the yard on the rocks. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a large house with a big kitchen area!
