Good size room. Great location. Quiet area.
3.0
Reception staff friendly. Room tidy and clean but could do with a general update based on it being the same price as a popular well known hotel
Essentially, there is nothing not to like, its just a little old fashioned and carpets need changing etc.

The room was so much bigger than I imagined. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the room was immaculately clean.
Being on such a busy road it was very noisy but I didn't mind too much. As it was sooo hot, air conditioning would be good but they gave a fan to help but I couldn't keep it on all night as it was a little noisy so I became very hot again. Also no restaurant open next door was hard to know where to eat without recommendations or information.
1.5
Central location and free parking.
No bar or dining facilities although the website mentioned they were available, apparently not on a monday or tuesday.

The location brilliant. And it was clean
Hotel was very dated and needed decorating and furniture needs updating. The shower didn't work scalding hot the temperature regulator wasn't working. Health and safety issues. Unusable. We were going to a wedding and had to wash using the sink, not the best. Told them at reception and nothing was done about it lightbulb in bedside lamp not working again nothing done about it. mini bar in the room was empty and fridge not turned on. There is no breakfast facility.

Lovely four-poster double bed. Was very comfortable, too. I had requested an early check-in, which they managed to accommodate, and we made it to the function in time. All staff that we met were very nice.
The second double bed was a sofa bed. Which was a little bit hard. Breakfast wasn't available, which the hotel did mention to us in their email. But, on the Booking.com website, it states otherwise and also gives times. Which is incorrect.

The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very modern with a great shower. The location was fantastic, right in the centre, plenty of parking and almost everything we wanted in walking distance.
Although advertised as "all rooms include breakfast" or "breakfast available 7am-9am" depending on the description here or their own website. Neither was correct as no breakfast was available at all on site. When we asked the receptionist about breakfast I was simply told "no". No apology or explanation, and when I mention it is stated on their own website I was again just told "no". Extremely rude with no customer service at all, not to mention misleading to guests.

rooms were a little too warm maybe a fan would be good for in summer

Good price, and was in a location near to where we wanted to be.
A little dated decor wise and only a few electrical sockets in room.

Nothing was good
I was really looking forward to my stay and had even paid an additional amount to upgrade my room.
I arrived at the hotel and was immediately put off by the random men lurking outside that smelled heavily of alcohol and some were clearly on drugs. I am a female that was travelling alone and as I went to walk past them I immediately drew inappropriate comments from them, one was asking for my room number, one commented on my designer handbag, and I felt threatened and extremely unsafe. I did not want them to overhear or see what room I was checking into. I was going out with friends later that evening and I did not want to either leave my belongings unguarded in my room, or risk bumping into them again later. I felt very uneasy.
I knew instantly that I could not stay there, so went on another booking platform and booked somewhere else and went there instead. I have never done that before, that's how extreme the situation felt to me.
I met up with friends later that night as planned and was informed that the hotel operates as some sort of Halfway House and it is known for these type of people hanging around outside. I think it's poor they are allowed to advertise as a normal hotel on a standard booking platform under these circumstances. The hotel refused to refund my money, but I'd rather take the hit on the cost than spend a night feeling unsafe for both myself and my belongings.

From the moment I entered the building, I was greeted and made welcome. Without asking I was told that a higher-grade room was available if I wanted it without extra charge which was unexpected. I was told that the kitchen is closed at the hotel so no evening meals or breakfast would be able to be served but I was told of a selection of restaurants available within a 5min walk. After leaving my bags in my room I took a short walk and found a fantastic Italian restaurant 2 mins away. The food was amazing and well worth venturing out. In the morning I asked if it was possible to leave my car in the hotel car park for 3hrs longer than my check-out time and was told it was not a problem and not to worry about the charges normally made to the public for parking during the day. Even when I returned to my car to leave I was greeted from within the Hotel through the window waving goodbye with a smile. I have stayed in many, many hotels in my time but even though the building looks and feels tired and there is no kitchen/restaurant I can't say how much of a positive difference the staff made to my stay. I even bumped into housekeeping in the corridor and even she was so polite and smiling. I will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.
The building does feel tired and in need of refurbishment. The opportunity to have breakfast would also have been a plus but as I said previously the people who work here make up for that.

Close to station. Lovely big room with 4-poster bed and good quality fittings. Fab huge mirror on inside of room door.
Oh, it would have been nice to have had a biscuit on the hospitality tray. Breakfast was not offered.

Location was satisfactory, armchair in room was comfortable
We booked the hotel because we were assured in the confirmation email that it served breakfast, but it didn't. The room was very small, the shower room even smaller. The springs had gone in the bed, the bedside light switch was inaccessible and it was too dim. The television signal was intermittent. There was nowhere to unpack out clothes - no drawers. The electronic key had to be renewed daily. Complaints were not received with good grace.

Didn't have any
The room was very clean, large, comfortable bed, and sofa to relax in.
3.5
The location of this hotel is very good for the town centre and with an attached to what seems like a swanky bar and food joint. the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room we had was tidy but not 100% clean and boy did look a little tired. With items obviously broken in the worlds smallest bathroom. Our noisy neighbours just added to a poor overall experience, I know this is not the rooms fault but we did complain to the staff and no action was taken. The bar was expensive to say the least.

What breakfast? No restaurant, no staff!
Everything, only saw one member of staff that was only present on arrival. Shabby hotel, dirty room, bed appeared to have been slept in, and nasty smell around the whole hotel!
2.5
The staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable.
The carpet was very stained and the ensuite very small. Wedding function the floor below was very loud, though it does mention in the description that it does have functions. All quiet by 12.30am.
