This spacious 3 bedroom 3.5 bath (each bedroom with attached full bath) home is situated in a private, wooded setting on the edge of Southwest Harbor's bustling village. All on one level, it offers sophisticated yet comfortable furnishings in an open floor plan design. A cozy sun room extends the space and leads to a lovely wrap around deck. It’s also close to several Acadia National Park access points. Note: this home offers extra wide doorways accommodating those with mobility issues (there are 3 small steps to access the front door, no wheelchair ramp available to enter home).
All on one level, the home features an open floor plan with high ceilings and interesting architectural details. The cheerful and well-applianced kitchen offers a center island with prep sink, and a generously sized pantry. The kitchen opens to a sunny breakfast area and table. The adjacent living room offers plenty of seating on overstuffed, leather furnishings and a large, flat screen TV. From the breakfast area access the screened-in sun room which is set with lots of casual furniture including a full-size futon/sleeper. For formal dinner gatherings there is a separate and very spacious dining room. The master bedroom suite is spacious and inviting. It offers a queen bed and en suite bath with an enormous Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The second bedroom is set with a queen bed and has an en suite bath with tub and shower. The third bedroom offers a set of twin beds and an en suite full bath with tub and shower as well. The sun room has a full size futon and opens up to the wrap-around back deck with grill and outdoor furnishing (4 chairs). Finishing out the space is a laundry room and a half bath. There is no garage access for tenant use.

This house was everything I could have asked for and more! It was in a lovely, safe neighborhood. It was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The hosts gave clear instructions and were available if needed. For 6 adults and a few dogs, the house had places to spread out (sun room, nook off of the master bedroom, each couple got their own bathroom) as well as to come together for “family” dinner or game nights (big dining table and living room). We cooked a lot of our meals and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Absolutely perfect vacation!

All enjoyed this house immensely. Super comfortable. Quiet location, and convenient. Super clean, all the conveniences necessary. Very generous with supplies. Even had crate and bowls for our furry son. Hope to return soon.

We stayed here over the 4th of July and had a marvelous stay. We have been using VRBO for several years and this is by far the nicest and best equipped property we have ever been at. The layout was fabulous, plenty of space. A lovely gift basket with local yummies greeted us. Paul and Sarah were accommodating and responsive. They even had dog bowls ready for us! Can't wait to go back!

This was our first visit to Maine, and we had a great time. This home was a perfect base to explore Mt. Desert island/Acadia National Park for 11 days in May 2024. It is a lovely place to stay- welcoming, well- furnished, well appointed, and lots of room for family, with three very nice bedrooms and attached baths. The hosts are attentive, but not at all intrusive. Great spot!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house has been constructed with an eye for anything you might need for comfort and convenience in a home. Of special note, the 4 season back porch, the open air back deck, and the skylights which always bring in the natural light. The kitchen is beautiful and was clearly constructed with care including back-lighting on the cabinets and beautiful glassware for any kind of beverage. The couches and beds were comfortable, there are ample bathrooms, temperature was easily controlled for maximum comfort.
The location is fantastic- it's an 11 min drive to the Swan's Island Ferry, 3 mins to Southwest Harbor and also to Long Pond, 20 mins to the Cadillac Mountain trailhead. We came in early spring when weather is unpredictable so we were interested in staying in a house that would still be a fun place to stay even on a cold and rainy day. We ended up having amazing weather but still enjoyed cozy evenings here. The hosts were welcoming, responsive, and respectful of our privacy. We are grateful for the opportunity to stay there; it was a memorable week for our family. We could not recommend this home more strongly.

We have stayed here for 3 consecutive years and everything remains great with this property and accommodating our family including a dog. Great location, away from major roads on a nice side street in a quiet neighborhood. Fantastic layout of the house with really good soundproofing in the walls!

Spacious very clean and comfy house. Great kitchen. Owners very friendly and hospitable. Our dog was welcome too. We loved MDI in November. Barely a tourist to be seen. We were very fortunate with sunny weather. Hiking ability choices. Lots of cafes open. Some restaurants. Would enjoy staying here again.

Lovely house. Clean like new! Sarah and Paul made sure everything in the house was available down to having a larger and smaller recliner in the living room. There was even a bottle of wine welcoming us! We absolutely loved this place and will return. Already referred our close friends.

This place was perfect. Everything was clean and in good working order. The owners thought of everything - whatever you need, it is likely available in the house. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are great for relaxing. The decor in the house is well thought out and makes for a comfortable and cozy environment. The house is in a quiet area so it is easy to navigate and nice to be away from more crowded areas. There are some great hiking trails just a mile up the road. I would definitely book this place again when I am in the area.

The house was immaculate and very comfortable. We had everything we needed ( even though we never cooked). Too much good lobster nearby! Loved the fact that everyone had there own bathroom and the grounds were very private and well kept. Our dogs also loved the yard Paul and Sarah know how to make a house feel comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying there

We wanted a place to host our family vacation with adult children and a dog, close to outdoor activities. This home was perfect with each member getting their own room and bathroom. The house is spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. We spent time walking, cycling, hiking, sailing and kayaking. It was a great trip and a perfect location near the water and Acadia Park. The hosts were wonderful. We will likely return next year.

We have been renting in SW Harbor for many years and Sarah & Paul’s home was perfect for us. Their house was beautiful, spacious and in an ideal location. There was a beautiful backyard and sun room where we spent a lot of time birdwatching. The house was very private. The kitchen was very well-appointed as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable. We could walk into town from the house. It was a very restful vacation and we would stay here again and again. Sarah and Paul were very responsive with questions. Thank you again.

Property is exactly as described. A professionally run property that was clean, well stocked, comfortable. Perfect base for my families adventures into Acadia. Hosts are responsive, friendly, respectful of privacy. You get the feeling of isolation but very close to southwest harbor and everything’s you would need to a trip to Acadia. 10/10 would recommend this property.

We especially loved the beautiful outdoor space in back where we spent our early morning hours enjoying some coffee and quiet time with the birds and squirrels! The house was lovely, and beds luxuriously comfy. Highly recommend this property!

Lovely lovely home - very spacious, clean and relaxing with all the amenities you may need. About 20-30 min very scenic drive to some areas of Acadia and the town of Bar Harbor, and 10-15 min scenic drive to the south west side of Acadia and the town/restaurants of Southwest Harbor. Sarah and Paul are excellent hosts and we would highly recommend this rental! (And dog friendly too!)

Was a perfect home for our family of four (two teens different genders). All bedrooms were masters, great open space and other spaces perfect for yoga and reading. The home was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. We loved watching the free range chickens roam the yard and the owners were very respectful of our privacy. The area was very quite but still convenient to get to some great hikes in the park and Southwest Harbor.

What a dream. This house was so well appointed with dishes, silverware, paper products, a bathroom for each bedroom, comfortable bedrooms and even treats! We loved the sitting room where we watched the birds including turkeys. The location was perfect and Sarah was beyond accommodating and friendly. We have another dream- returning soon.

Acadia family vacation
We had the most wonderful time staying at Sarah and Paul’s beautiful home. It is more wonderful than the photos depict. It was spacious and clean and relaxing. It was about a 20-30 minute drive to the hikes we did at the park and to most of the hot spots we wanted to experience. We look forward to staying here again for our next Acadia trip!

Truly enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and clean. The backyard is beautiful with birds and flowers. It is a little out of the way from the park and restaurants which is plus for relaxation and something to keep in mind when planning g your days. We would definitely stay here again. Sarah and Paul have a beautiful home! We had six adults and loved all the space inside and out! It was also great that each bedroom had their own bathroom. We enjoyed that we were on the quieter side of the island but still a short drive to Acadia.

Perfect House for our Family
We really enjoyed this home - Sarah and Paul are excellent hosts and the house is very clean and stocked with everything you could need. The furnishings and decorating are so relaxing and reflect the area plus the sun room with the nature views was the perfect place after a day of exploring the island. Overall this is one of the best homes we have ever stayed in and we use VRBO often. Highly recommend!

None of the others have come close to this house. It's expansive layout, bathrooms, and the lantern room looking out over the woods in the rear will bring you great joy as it did us. Wait until you have your morning coffee in the lantern room. I guarantee you'll be back to stay here. I know we will.

Paul and Sarah's house was simply unbelievable. My wife and I have stayed in no less than eight rental houses all over MDI when visiting other family. None of the others have come close to this house. It's expansive layout, bathrooms, and the lantern room looking out over the woods in the rear will bring you great joy as it did us. Wait until you have your morning coffee in the lantern room. I guarantee you'll be back to stay here. I know we will.
