About this house rental
Casa Michale is a bungalow located on a tropical hillside, 100 meters above sea level, affording stunning ocean and bay views.
There are about 25 stairs down to the house from the street. The kitchen is equipped so you can cook if you are in the mood or there are many good restaurants close by. Inside the house is a king size bed, lockable walk in closet, desk (WiFi speed is 155) and sitting which are air-conditioned and have sliding glass windows and screens.
Adjoining the bedroom is the WC and bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and closed WC. On the patio is a fully equipped kitchen, out door sitting and a day bed at pool-side where you can nap or read or sleep. The dipping pool and sun deck are private. Hotel Amuleto is just a few hundred meters down the street with excellent food and Suspiro just within walking. If you need laundry done or a meal cooked for you, you can arrange this with Bibi who will also greet you and get you settled. Rufina will organize a taxi to bring you from the airport. If you are driving, there is secure street parking at our entrance. All you need is to relax and enjoy.
There is an air conditioned workspace desk and lockable space for your valuables. The house is quiet and secluded, and is ideal for the perfect getaway.
Bibi will arrange a taxi for you at the airport with a market stop if you like and Bibi will greet you at the house and get you settled in.
Playa la Ropa is a pleasant 20 minute walk or a $4.US taxi. If you walk down to the beach there is a taxi stand at the South end of Playa la Ropa so you don't have to walk back home.
The kitchen is equipped if you want to do some cooking or you can arrange for Bibi to do a meal for you. She is also available to do any laundry. If you have rented a car there is safe street parking and if not, easy taxis are available. There are 2 very good restaurants within walking distance, Amuleto, one of the best in town, and Suspiro, and a number of restaurants on Playa la Ropa as well as in town. We will have a list in the house of taxi numbers and restaurant suggestions.
In town you have a wealth of shops and markets to explore. Every morning the local fishermen bring their catch onto the beach downtown where there is also a great breakfast spot. So between the beaches, La Ropa, La Madera and Las Gatas, the markets and shops you will have a lot to keep you busy if you can get out of the pool.

Casa Michael, as we found out it was called upon our arrival, was even more lovely than the pictures in the posting. The views from the loungers was perfecto!
The unit's amenities were complete and had everything that anyone would need for a short stay in Zihua.
We made breakfast every morning. In addition to the kitchen articles with plates, glassware, pots and pans, they had complimentary tea and coffee. They even had a bottle of Woodbridge CA Cabernet in the fridge (if that is your thing).
The outdoor living was lovely in the dry season, the pool just cool enough to take the heat of the day off.
There was Off provided (the mosquitoes are relentless) which was an added bonus since we left our mosquito spray at home.
The bedroom was well appointed with a large bed with beyond, a workspace desk, a small table overlooking to outdoor space, and A/C.
It is important to note that the unit is accessible by approximately 75 steps from either above or below (not 25 as was communicated to us). This can get touring to go in and out over the course of the day, but provides a great excuse to read a book on the lounge or dip on the pool.
Additionally, the only thing that actually locks is a closet to keep valuables in. Otherwise the home shares walkways with another unit and the bedroom sites not lock. It is fine as the neighborhood I is very safe But it is good to know in advance.
Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely come back during the set month

My husband and I stayed at Casa Robert for 5 nights. As other people have mentioned, the photos don’t do it justice. Everything about this place is so thought through and exceeded our expectations. If you’re debating staying here, trust me when I say you will not be disappointed!
Everything from the staff - everyone was professional and attentive. The private pool with the view was so nice and even better in the photos. The kitchen is well equipped (tea, spices, blender, coffee machine, lots of ice trays etc). The ac unit in the bedroom worked well and having the bug net around the bed was a bonus. They did provide bug spray but the mosquitos weren’t as bad as I thought.
I have literally nothing bad to say about this place. It’s such a hidden gem and we’re so happy we chose this place for our honeymoon.

We thoroughly enjoyed every detail of the quaint casa and beautiful view. The layout was creative and beyond enjoyable!

This property is stunning! Bibi was helpful when we arrived with showing us around and offered more help if necessary. The pool was lovely. The kitchen had everything we needed for a couple dinners at home. The bed was comfortable and the variety of outdoor seating options was unlike anywhere we’ve ever stayed. We would love to stay here again!

Had a great three weeks staying at Casa Robert!
Short walk to many restaurants and La Ropa.
I would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I stayed for a long stay - 42 nights! It was a working vacation and it was perfect. The bungalow is gorgeous, tucked away up the hill past Playa La Ropa. The little pool was lovely and kept sparkling clean. The whole place was kept sparkling clean. Many thanks to Rufi and Anna who cleaned meticulously twice a week. (They also helped me with my Spanish.) The WiFi was excellent - we lost it once but only for about an hour and other than that it worked like a charm. We loved the 15-20 minute walk down the hill to La Ropa. The walk back up was a little more challenging but we never felt the need to flag a taxi or mini-bus but we could have had we needed to. All in all it was a perfect getaway for our working holiday and we're grateful Robert has maintained such a perfect property. Oh and whatever you do don't miss a dinner up the stairs to Amuleto Restaurant. It is spectacular. (Order the cool tomato soup!!!)
Thanks Robert, Ramon, Rufi, Anna, Bibi and Giovani.

Was a very nice accommodation, very private, but very far away from most things. The walk into town was about 20 minutes to the beginning of La Ropa Beach downhill. The return back was uphill all the way. We only did it once. The bus service does not frequent that area very often so you would usually have to take a taxi home. So if you just wanted to go for a quick walk to the beach, it was basically half a day.
Getting in and out of the accommodation, would also be challenging for anyone who could not negotiate stairs as there were many stairs out, as well as many stairs, back in every time you left. Other than that we had a great time as I said, the accommodation was very unique and comfortable

This place is absolutely gorgeous! Even more beautiful than the pictures show. The views are amazing and you have a lot of privacy. The bedroom has A/C and the private pool is perfect for staying cool during the day. Robert responded quickly to all questions and Bibi was great…she was there to check us in and help us get settled. Kitchen was stocked well enough for our needs and they provided big bottles of water for our use. Bibi also arranged our taxis to and from the airport. It’s a great place, perfect for a romantic getaway!

We enjoyed everything about Casa Robert and will definitely be back when staying in Zihuatanejo.

Robert & Bibi were amazing. Communitive & available to us. Bibi was not available to prepare meals. 6 months prior to our trip we relocated from IN to NC. We had contractor issues, death of my Mom, sickness & overall emotional and mental stress. We were relieved to locate a place we could relax & rest. The bungalow is peaceful and like an island oasis or jungle hut. The property is beautiful and the view of the bay day and night is spectacular. There was no disappointment in our stay. Future travelers: If you are not an outdoors person or you don't wish to climb or go down stairs, it is not for you. The living area, kitchen, shower, water closet and pool are all outdoors. The bedroom has sliding glass doors and walls for protection and is cooled well, but the majority of your time will be outdoors. If you are looking for luxury, this is not for you, but relaxation, YES. Do not expect to use credit cards. Take cash and convert to pesos, trust me. Martin (755-115-3361) will taxi you anywhere and arrange all of your excursions and is wonderful. Both beds are extremely comfortable. Don't stock up on food-the refrigerator doesn't cool well. Avoid Mexico City Airport at all cost- no organization and chaos- turn the shower on and off several times and you will have hot water. Have drop off on the road up the stairs & pick up on the road down when traveling- easier to go down the stairs. There is a bungalow next door, so not completely private. We are booking for next year!

I thoroughly enjoyed the palapa. Clever design, artfully built, nothing is missing. The photos show it off but reality is even better. It’s a luxurious indoor/outdoor apartment. Bibi was easy to communicate with and management and cleanliness were to a high standard. The view is spectacular! I loved the location and privacy, and had no trouble going to La Ropa or Zihua Centro. The beach is ten minutes down the hill and town is fifteen minutes further by frequent combi buses. Casa Robert is a gem.

Casa Robert is a wonderful treehouse-like retreat overlooking the bay of Zihuatanejo from which you can see all the beaches and the town. I especially enjoyed bird watching, yoga on the deck, and taking a dip in the plunge pool to cool off. Walking to beautiful La Ropa beach took some effort but was not difficult. We were so comfortable at the casita, with the outdoor day bed, couch and loungers that we often stayed and enjoyed the property. WIFI was very good for both work and entertainment. The kitchen was small but adequate. There are a number of stairs to negotiate but you are rewarded with the view. Communication with Bibi and her sister Rufi was excellent and they were always ready to help in any way with our stay. Muchas gracias!

This is a prime example of Mexican ingenuity and creative craftsmanship. A very comfortable house with an Amazing view from every location of the house, including the master bed. I went to sleep to the twinkling lights of Zhiua and woke up to the spectacular view of the bay, all without getting out of bed. A short walk to restaurants, La Ropa beach etc. Classic Mexican rustic construction. If you have mobility issues then this would not be a good place for you. It's built in a steep hill and requires stairs climbing, otherwise a fantastic spot. The amenities are very adequate, fully stocked kitchen.

What an amazing place to rest and relax. The view of the bay never got old, and the lights from town are stunning at night. Ropa was a short walk down hill and a cheap cab ride up hill. Definitely going back the pictures don’t do it justice.

I'm almost hesitant to share how wonderful Robert's rental is, because I don't want the secret to get out! But after all the care and attention he has obviously put into this home, the praise is well deserved. Our time in Zihua was perfect, thanks to Robert's beautiful bungalow. Waking up to that view every morning is unparalleled, and I'm still dreaming about that pool. Beyond just offering a beautiful location, Robert provided all the information necessary for our time there --info for taxis, restaurants, activities. He was extremely attentive and accommodating, as were the housekeepers. Locationally, the home is also perfectly situated where you have privacy in the mountains, but the beach is walkable, and the center of town a short taxi away. My partner and I had such a special Christmas in Zihua, and we can't imagine it taking place anywhere else. Thank you Robert!

When we booked and when arriving at the property the listing was not up to date for address, was not clear there were no walls or locking door (except in toilet stall), and regarding food services. We communicated with a manager, Robert, thru VRBO ahead and we arrived to wait a few hours to access our room due to his lack of communication with us about arrival time. He is not onsite or near. We paid a taxi driver extra as it took us a long time to locate the address after approaching another business in the area where a host of this property happened to be working. It is still listed incorrectly. Our limited Spanish language use was necessary. The owner of the property lives on site and is not involved with guests. That said, gorgeous, quiet spot. Nice things included were good linens, drinking water, hot water, bug repellent, shower items, ample plug ins, a small pool with another great view. The pool was wonderful and serviced while we were there. Our suite was cleaned once during our time which was great. There are many stairs above and below this property to access it. There is a man working there who can assist with luggage. Not hard to get taxis here, there is a combi (small public bus) access point about 5 mins walk down the hill. There is only 1 high price restaurant near and no stores. You can cook at suite and full size fridge. Texting the host who worked down the road was helpful though not always fast response. The owner has cats (they do not bother) who have done some spraying in pool and palapa areas so this needs to be cleaned. Would stay again, though not for a long time due to openness of suite. May try other accommodations there which are enclosed. Views are outstanding, loved the pool. Friendly staff when accessed. Thank you!

This place is exactly as shown.. It truly is open air living. Especially magical at night with the lights of the town in the distance. The walk to town is manageable if you're happy for a little uphill exercise.
