Peaceful location, lovely views over the Hauraki Gulf and Kawau Island. A good place to stay a short drive from the sights of Matakana. Beautifully appointed accommodation, the kitchen had everything we needed and the welcome pack of local produce was excellent. The hosts were really friendly and helpful, especially with handling dietary requirements.
We'll be back.
There was nothing wrong with the accommodation or the hosts. The weather was pretty horrible for the couple of days we were there, but on the plus side there were plenty of rainbows to enhance the views!

The location is fantastic - amazing views. A truly luxurious environment to stay in. Welcoming, and very helpful hosts. Great location for the National Park. If you're into bird watching and if you're lucky , like we were, you see Kiwis there at night - many thanks to the wonderful red torches provided by our hosts! Our hosts also gave us great local knowledge to help sort out things we needed to attend a local wedding (hairdresser, suit pressing, etc).

We had booked in for 2 nights in Feb. it took us less than an hour to decide that we wanted more and were fortunate in being able to book this as an extra night.

A place of peace and tranquillity offering the best of two worlds - a haven to chill and enjoy nature and great views; and as a base to explore the area, especially Tawharanui Regional Park. Little light pollution meant we were able to enjoy star viewing at night (clouds permitting).

Most generous hosts, Katherine & John created a luxurious hide-away between the beautiful native bush and the majestic ocean. Loved the outside bath, exceptional breakfast (incl salmon!), views to all side, comfy bed and everything else.

Weather but still had a bubble bath in the rain!

Perfect breakfast left in our cottage that was adequate for the 3 days: artisan bread, gravlax preserves & healthy muesli & blue berries.
We appreciated the absolute peace and quiet and the serene views out to see and bush.
We appreciated being left alone to enjoy the private accommodation well away from the owners house. Our beach visits to Tawharanui park each afternoon a highlight.

Loved it👌
our host’s Katherine and John were charming. it is a beautiful property. Despite the rain during most of our stay it was a very serene place to unplug and unwind in extremely peaceful surroundings. The brekkie provisions were great too!

We really enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were there, but ensured our privacy and enjoyment. The views and location are exceptional, immersed in nature; Bell Bird, Kaka, lovely gardens and bush. Our breakfast was well provided, with high quality and tasty fare. Katherine and John have a real gem, particularly the captivating views and surroundings, not to mention the outside bath, stars and nearly the best seat in the house to relax, view the bush and contemplate the day ahead.
Leaving.

John & Katherine surprised us with fresh bread, salmon, cream cheese and a host of other goodies for a wholesome and moreish breakfast (which turned out to be supper) spread. They put an incredible amount of effort into the detail and the space itself is perfect for a couple looking to break away. The outside bath? Heaven. The gardens, beautiful. The hospitality, excellent. Highly recommended.

The location was excellent. Handy to the wedding venue. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing and private.
Loved the scenery, gardens and the outdoor bathtub.
Tasteful decor, interesting art and delicious snacks!
5 star accommodation and considerate hosts.
Additional sofas or oversized armchairs would suit the place and a larger fridge would be convenient.

Secluded, with amazing views and birdsong. Comfy & warm - even in winter, with everything I needed. The hosts are also amazing, and happy to help out with any questions. My favourite spot.

It was secluded and had a beautiful view of the sea. So quiet except for the birdsong. Close to the Tawharanui wildlife reserve with lovely walks. Seeing the stars at night and the Ruru flying about will be something we will remember.

Minor suggestion, a blue tooth speaker/stereo would have been handy and I forgot to take one.
