Great location for anything near the spark arena.

The room was a good size. Nice new kitchenette and bathroom the shower was very powerful.

The carpet in our room was very dirty/stained - so could do with cleaning or replacing.

Great location, a cheap way to stay in the CBD

Great location, easy check in, and comfortable

The floor in the bathroom was covered in someone else’s hair and it was very noisy in the morning with loud music, shouting and people slamming doors.

Fantastic stay and so close to Spark Arena. Wonderful helpful staff. Beautiful foyer building and room. Very secure. Great shower pressure!!!

Basic but clean.

Convenient. Basic but clean. Had everything I needed & staff were pleasant.

Sound check at Spark Arena went late. Noise from public at restaurant on the old concourse; railway noise stopped mid-evening.

Nothing just the fact we had a bed to rest was the only good part

The building is run down, very dark room and I thought we had an upgrade, it looks quite different from the photos and would have preferred to stay in a hostel for Half the price

Leuke locatie met goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding

Hele bijzondere locatie om te overnachten. Gratis parkeren voor de deur. Kamer was eenvoudig, maar heel compleet.

Vond de gezamenlijke keuken niet echt tof; werd lustig op losgekookt door Aziatische mensen. Geur is als je binnenkomt minder. In de kamer zelf no problem.

Beautiful stay by the railway

Beautiful place with orginal railroad architecture. Nice central location to food, restaurants and a supermarket. 2 second walk to Spark Arena which was exactly what we wanted. This place was perfect for us and the staff were lovely. Going to be staying here again.

Location is amazing, would definately stay again when attending Spark Arena

Location was amazing, room a bit basic but sufficient Parking was great as right out side and reasonably cheap too

No one at reception on arrival, took a while to find someone. Tried to phone numerous times days ahead of booking to confirm some details, very hard to get hold of anyoine

Good value

Beautiful building, and the apartment itself was spacious and warm. It appears out of the way but actually a pleasant walk to the very nice Britomart area and the waterfront. Friendly staff.

It would have been good to get an explanation of facilities there, restaurants and amenities. It seemed like a guest had to discover these themselves. Rooms are also located next to the suburban railway line. If you are a light sleeper, take ear plugs.

Fantastic Location, Great Value

Had an event at Spark Arena so the location was excellent. I wasn't sure if I could park close by but I got in contact with the hotel and secured a spot for $15 for the night, right outside. I dealt with Ivy, she was very friendly.

I think in the summertime the rooms might be quite hot and there is no air con.

Convenient comfortable stay in an old heritage building

Really comfortable big bed. Good size room with high ceilings. Loved the tiled floor. Handy little kitchenette. Good location. Will definitely be back.

Nothing major. The shower door had come off its runner. I’m sure that’d be sorted by the cleaners or be brought to attention of whoever fixes that sort of thing. Also the shower sink hole surround was missing. Parking situation was a bit confusing. I parked in the wilson parking under the building but then was told there was other cheaper parking out the front. Will note this for next time.

NO to GrandCentral

The fact we had a space for our young boy to rest after a 7.5hour trip to Auckland.

Terrible service from female by name of Ivy (presumed to be manager because front staff rep had to call to discuss our comms)- I recieved courtesy email saying my parking reservation was booked without further costs, then informed on arrival that the email did not state this but this was very clear in email. We waited almost an hour to settle into room because we had to deal with a rude manager who did not listen or consider what we were reiterating as per email discussion. It was very difficult to understand her because of her accent, and her repetitive overuse of the word "ok" (as if she couldn't identify that it wasn't ok). In addition, a bond was required - which is not clear on booking.com. But had became obvious at checkin, and seeing Ivy's email after requesting it. The bond request was very unreasonable for 1night reservation. In the end we paid what was asked of us to avoid further stress, and also to park our luggage and settle our 4year old child in. Room was in unreasonable state - carpet, linen & towels stained. They provided only 2 towels for a 3people booking. Ceiling had hole in it which was covered by broken board. Room door had only chain as security lock - very unsafe. I did not wish to interact further with any staff about any concerns as they initially didn't care anyhow. I rate this a 1 out of 10 - 1 for gratitude that my 4year old had a place to rest. I DO NOT recommend Grand central to any family, nor will we ever use their services again. Very poor quality room, poor service, and unreasonable requests from a service.

How is this place even listed? It’s a place for prisoners and is absolutely disgusting. Council need to take this building down immediately and it’s even worse when booking.com allow it.

The room and bed were clean

The strong smell of urine outside the room door, smells like a urinal...nothing to put toiletries on in the shower, had to use the toilet seat, lack of hooks and shelves.TV was temperamental only worked sometimes. Also the noise of trains breaking/screeching outside the window wasn't pleasant.

the rooms were clean and large enough

the shower leaked all over the floor every time it was used. the heated towell rail switched itself off, the trains were right our our window, and the staff said we took a glass from the kitchen which we didn't

Primarily staying to see a show at the Spark Arena next door so location excellent. Lady on reception was very friendly and most helpful.

Pay to have sheets changed.

We stayed 2 nights. On the first night I started feeling itchy in bed from the sheets. The next morning my partner said she felt the same. We told the lady at the counter this and she didn't care, said it wouldn't cost twenty dollars for a change of bedding because we were only staying 2 nights. Every other hotel changes bedding every day especially when you request it. We even hung out the door card that requests your room to be made. She said because we were 'only' staying 2 nights that we didn't qualify to have our bedding changed, even if we were getting itchy from the sheets. Who knows if they even change them between most stays. Extremely poor service. I recorded video of the room in case she comes up with a lie to keep the $100 'bond'.

perfect location

Location to Spark arena was excellent. Flew in saw show flew out next morning so all we were prepared to spend on a bed for the night. Liked the history of the old building.
