About this apartment rental
Enjoy the charm of New Orleans living in an historic Victorian Camelback, built in 1861.
Close to everything; walk 3 blocks to world famous Commander's Palace, stroll down oak and mansion lined St. Charles Ave, go antiquing on Magazine St, ride the St. Charles Streetcar down to the French Quarter or up to the Universities and Audubon Park, visit the WWII Museum, and dine at any of the myriad of restaurants that make New Orleans a foodie paradise.
This lovingly restored apartment is 3 floors and sleeps up to 4 guests. There is a private entrance with a courtyard and a second floor balcony. The kitchen has all the wares you need to cook a meal, if you ever get tired of dining out. There is one full bath on the second floor and a half bath on the ground floor. There are two bedrooms, one on the second floor and one on the third, and two sitting rooms. There is a comfortable full size sofa bed in the second floor sitting room. High quality linens and towels are provided. There is a washer and dryer on the premises. Street parking is usually easy to find. Off-street parking for one vehicle is available across the street.
THINGS TO KNOW:
Maximum occupancy is 4 guests (children included). Occupancy is strictly regulated by the City of New Orleans. Our nightly rate reflects a discount for 1 - 2 guests.
Check-in is any time after 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am. We live in another unit in the building and can be available to answer questions and give recommendations if you so desire. We are also happy to be invisible and respect your privacy.
Some Special Events and stays of 30 days or longer may require a larger refundable Security Deposit and/or additional cleaning fees, to be determined at time of booking.
Cancellation Policy:
Please be aware that there is a ‘No Cancellation’ policy in effect for Extended Stays (30+ days). All sales and deposits are final for Extended Stays. We strongly encourage guests to purchase Trip Cancellation or the more comprehensive Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) insurance from a reputable provider. As Owners of one vacation rental apartment, we cannot write off lost income from cancellations, as do large property managers or major hotel chains. If you are concerned about the possibility of a last-minute cancellation or early departure for any reason, please insure your trip. We do not issue refunds outside our cancellation policy.
Just a note for those with mobility issues: The apt is 3 stories high so there are a lot of stairs. There are 5 stairs at the entrance to the apartment. We have 12 ft ceilings so the flight of stairs to get to the 2nd floor, where the full bath is located, is longer than what is normal in most homes. Lastly, there is a flight of stairs to get to the 3rd floor bedroom. The bathrooms were added to the home well after it was built so they are small, as one would expect in a very old house. It could be uncomfortable for some guests to maneuver. Unfortunately our home is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
A signed Rental Agreement is required within 24 hours of booking.
A Photo ID is required and must match the name of the Payee.
Parties are not permitted.

The camelback was lovely, very well appointed, and near all the sights in the Garden District. Will come again!

The location is wonderful if you want access to experience all New Orleans has to offer without staying in the craziness of the French Quarter. One minute from the trolley line, which will take you all over for peanuts, and just a short walk from tons of bars and restaurants on Magazine. The surrounding area is full of gorgeous homes to wander past as well.
Corinna was wonderful: greeting us, checking us in, and offering suggestions. The place is gorgeous. Huge high ceilings, nice amount of space, comfortable beds, and nicely decorated. As long as you're okay with a few stairs (3 stories and very high ceilings) this was a perfect place to sip coffee in the morning and return to in the evening. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience our hosts were kind and helpful. My partner worked from the house one day and had an excellent WiFi signal. Location made it easy to get to the touristy areas as well as off the beaten path to lesser visited areas. 5 Starts!

Accomodating owner
This property was a very comfortable and safe place to stay in the Garden District. We were in town for a medical conference as well as a little fun. The house was 2 short blocks from the St. Charles Trolley which will take you right to the French Quarter for a reasonable price. It is a pleasant and safe way to get around if you do not rent a car. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. She let us store our luggage when we got into NOLA prior to our check in time as we wanted to start exploring the city without dragging our luggage around. She immediately refunded our deposit after our visit and was kind enough to send an itemized receipt so that me and my 2 travel partners could be reimbursed by our companies.
Thanks for a great stay!

Yet again, another memorable New Orleans stay. We found the home to be very comfortable and nicely remodeled, while the character of this 150+ year old home is preserved.
The home is very centrally located. It is one block off of the St Charles line, which is a great east/west transportation choice for the visitor, and fare is $1.25/$3 for an all day pass. It is a very scenic line that runs all the way from the outskirts of Loyola (to the west) to Canal Street , which starts the French Quarter.
A 6 block walk towards the river puts you in the more vibrant area of Magazine Street. Great shopping, dining, and scenic Garden District walks. The area also contains the most historic cemetaries, which is a quintessential tourist activity.
The home is stocked with everything you need. A very nice supply of linens and supplies. The kitchen is well stocked, although we find the massive number of eateries in New Orleans too good to pass up.
A point of note: The layers of floors and stairwells add to the charm of these old properties. Since the main bedroom is accessed by the main stairwell, it will prove challenging for people who have difficulty walking or climbing stairs.

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 younger kids) stayed here for a few days over Thanksgiving break. We enjoyed our stay and loved the location since it was only 2 blocks away from the St. Charles street car, which we caught daily to visit downtown. The unit itself is in the back of the house (so you would enter through the side gate to access your front door in the back). The place was clean, updated and had everything we needed. The unit does feature two sets of narrow stairs (for the 3 floors) so definitely not recommended for anyone very old (and you would need baby gates for toddlers or crawling babies). The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of blankets for everyone. The decor was also very nice. The kitchen was well-stocked as well although we ate out most of the time. The owner welcomed us warmly and made sure she was available for any questions or concerns. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Available on short notice, great garden district location very close to the st. Charles streetcar. Secure parking, beautiful, charming historic place with all modern amenities and conveniences. One of the owners greeted us and explained the keys and doors and wi-Fi and Corinna gave some of our friends some great tips and discount on a ghost tour. Thanks so much!

Great place to stay
Having visited New Orleans many times in my life, this was one of my favorite visits. The location of this unit is absolutely perfect. The inside was very comfortable and perfectly suited for our trip (2 couples traveling together). The owners checked in periodically to make sure everything was good and that we didn't need anything. They were quick to respond when I had questions. I would highly recommend this unit and look forward to renting it again when I come back to New Orleans.

Great location only 2 blocks from the streetcar on St. Charles. Well stocked with linens and everything else you could need.

We were in town for my daughter's 21st birthday. This place is convenient to both the Quarter (short Uber ride or streetcar if you have time) and Magazine street shopping. 2 blocks away from restaurants on St. Charles and a great bakery and coffee shop nearby. Corinna is a super host and they've done a great job remodelling the house. Very quiet for an older place. Be aware that there are stairs, lots of stairs. Not really a place for Grandma or someone who's healing up from a knee job.

Super cute property, all the comforts of home!
We stayed three nights at the Camelback Guest House. It is a really cute three story property that is older but has a lot of charm to it. The owners were very accommodating and even met us for our very late 1am arrival, making sure we knew where to park and how the doors and locks worked, etc. There is a convenience store just a few steps away, which came in handy- they have a little bit of everything there. The house was stocked with plenty of towels, blankets, pillows and even some small snacks of pretzels and cookies, which our kids appreciated! We were in town for St Patrick's Day and this house was the perfect location to walk down to Magazine St to watch the parade.
I would highly recommend the Camelback Guest House to anyone looking for a clean, comfy place with a central location.

Excellent!
Our stay at Camelback was outstanding. The accommodations were perfect and Corinna went out of her way to make our stay perfect. She even did some shopping for us for special birthday items, so when we walked into the living room we were ready to celebrate. I would come back and I highly recommend Camelback to everyone.

Two thumbs up for Camelback!
Camelback was the perfect apartment for our stay in New Orleans. It was centrally located for all our planned events. Being only a block fro St Charles Ave we were able to hop on the trolley whenever we wanted. The apartment was charming and exceptionally clean. The three levels offered people privacy when they wanted and the lowere level was a fun gathering place. The beds were most comfortable. Corinna went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Her home was well stocked with everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again and have already highly recommended it to others.

Hope to come back soon!
This was the perfect place for our family to stay while in New Orleans. We took the trolley to the French Quarter a couple times and walked around the neighborhoods in the Garden District and enjoyed one delicious meal after another. The location was perfect and the owner was wonderful to work with. The house was generously stocked, immaculately cleaned and beautifully decorated. Our three kids loved the three levels and, in particular, our little guy claimed the little nook under the stairs to the third-floor bedroom as his own hide out. The beds were really comfortable and the bedrooms were cozy and bright. Since were were staying over Easter weekend, we had a fun Easter egg hunt in the little courtyard outside. The flowering bush next to the table was in full bloom and the scent was so lovely. There were so many thoughtful gestures from the time of check-in until we checked-out, which made our stay extra special. We hope to come back soon!

Perfect location for Mardi Gras
Our family of four with two young children stayed here over Mardi Gras weekend. Being only a block and a half from St. Charles Ave, it was the perfect location to see all the Uptown parades while also convenient to the Magazine St. shops and restaurants. We did not have to drive anywhere almost our whole stay - everything we needed was within walking distance. The apartment was very charming, nicely renovated, and exceptionally clean. It was also much more spacious than it looked in the photos. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Camelback guesthouse and would definitely come back again. Corinna, the owner, was very helpful and attentive. She even left us a king cake which was a great extra touch!

Great location for New Orleans Vacation:
We traveled to New Orleans with our adult children - 6 of us in all. This was a great place to be the home base for our vacation - close to the St. Charles streetcar, the Magazine Street restaurant/shopping district area, and a short Uber ride to the French Quarter. The house was ample for our needs, whether we wanted to all be together for activities or if anyone wanted a little privacy. It was very clean, offered all the amenities we needed (and the corner store across the street was very convenient). The hosts provided us with information on local attractions, and the basket of goodies upon our arrival was a very nice touch! We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it to others.

Wonderful stay with 2 toddlers.
I travelled to NO with my 2 young kids, and the house was great-- lots of space, and close to the St-Charles streetcar (which the kids loved). Hosts kindly provided a pack n play and high chair.
Highly recommended!

Charming, And A Great Value!
We greatly enjoyed our 5-night stay here - the layout gave everyone their own space, yet plenty of room to gather together and eat, talk and reminisce. The home is old, nicely renovated and absolutely clean. We felt safe in the area, whether walking the 1.5 blocks to the St. Charles streetcar, or the 9-10 blocks to Magazine Street for food and shopping. The owners were pleasant and personable, and very responsive. We usually had no problems finding parking close by - all-in-all a very pleasant stay!

Perfect! Charming, very clean, hospitable owner was so friendly and willing to offer great advice!
We could not have been more pleased with our stay! The apartment is beautifully updated and extremely clean! The very friendly, hospitable owner met us upon arrival to show us around the place (she allowed up to check in early so we didn't have to carry luggage around, which was MUCH appreciated!). We had everything that we needed during our stay (we were here for a conference at the convention center). Everything was a quick uber ride away. And there was a convenience store a very close walk away. We could also hop on the streetcar, a block away, for a couple dollars (this was a more leisurely ride, if you're not in a hurry, with all of the stops). Would definitely stay here again!

Garden District apartment
This was a lovely apartment in the Garden District. The owners could not have been more kind and accommodating, checking in with us often to make sure we had everything we needed. The apartment is very cool, old, clean and comfortable. It is centrally located for all the activities we enjoyed during our stay. I would love to go back, and stay longer, and would certainly recommend the apartment for anyone wanting a wonderful New Orleans experience.
