Very good value for money stay, in a room that exceeded my expectations.

The facilities in the room were very good, and the all round style and comfort of the room made it seem like it was a room in a far more expensive hotel.

Everything went fairly well, there wasn't really anything that was particularly unlikeable about the room at all.

Overall, it's okay as a basic room which met my needs for where it was located. Wi-fi not great.

The room was large, bed comfy, all basic facilities

The main light did not work, had to use lamps. The bathroom had a shower curtain (pet hate) and the flusher on the toilet was very, very difficult to depress.

The car park

Toilet seat was not even connected to the toilet , the place was more like an old fashioned doss house . Mold in the bathroom. Kettle was disgusting. Full ashtrays littered the grounds . Noisy house keeping .

Great value

Very clean. Good location/walking distance to the music venue that I was there for. Lots of free coffee/tea. Free car parking on site.

Would've been nice to have an option to get breakfast there.

The staff were helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom was big. The decoration in the hotel was amazing, a lot of history and quirky trinkets.

Staff freindly and helpfull. The hotel had good charcter and design.

Only one pillow, and very thin…..I personally prefer to have two pillows.

A very quick one night stay and very satisfactory overall in a very characterful house.

Breakfast was very good indeed for the price. Very helpful host Keith.

Decor of room a little tired. A very generous cooked breakfast and for the price even better. My only quibble - and I have this at 8out of 10 places I stay - is the cheap low quality sausage. I despair that in a country like ours we so often serve up the lowest common denominator banger when it’s something our country makes so well. I know margins have to be respected but that old cash and carry link again! End of rant!

Eminently suitable enjoyable stopover.

Liked the soundproofing of Edwardian windows was surprisingly good. Proprietor willing to talk and be friendly and helpful. Liked the unusual shape of the room and dual aspect window. Some interesting historical artefacts and lovely wood panelling.

Car park looked neglected and in need of a sweep.

Keith the host was very nice gentleman, very pleasant and friendly, room was very clean and tidy, and also had tea and coffee in room. Breakfast was first class, and would recommend to others .Would stay there again

We found the location very good the hotel was olde worldly and the staff were very pleasant

Quirky lovely hotel.

Lovely old style hotel, full of character and with a homely feel. It feels like you step back in time at least 20 years with it's dark panelled wood lobby, corridors and dining room ( which in my opinion is a welcome change from the sterile modern hotels) . Reception was welcoming in spite of our late arrival. Good breakfast.

Breakfast time on Monday was only till 9 am.
