As usual the staff were found to be very friendly and helpful. We also like the new room layout for breakfast which provides a more space. The quality of food is excellent.
We noticed some repairs in progress. However, extensive repairs are required to the roads and car parks around the site. Areas of which are in very poor condition.

The Location of the hotel was our main reason for staying here.......5 drive mins to Crematorium.
Our room was a bit dated but very clean, so no complaints.
Access to the Gym and the Pool was available to us, but we didnt have enough time to use them, but would, if staying again.
Used the pub/bar for a night cap and had a full English breakfast in the morning and enjoyed both.
Hotel decor and furnishings could do with a refresh.
No walk in shower in room.
The ready made Breakfast tea was too strong. The flask would be better being just hot water with loose tea bags.

Was easy to find and location was going to be good for what we were planning for 3 days there.
Room was very dated, paint on shower curtain, kettle wouldn’t switch off. Room had a musky smell to it and then was kept up all night by noisy people partying next door. A lot of contractors stay there. Plus side staff were understanding when we told them we were unhappy and wanted to check out. Refunded us but still charged us for the one night when we had hardly any sleep!

Gym
No sockets at desk to use laptop and only a single socket nearby in which the to was plugged into

Great value for money for the facilities you get, spotlessly clean and lovely friendly staff. Room is basic but as good as any standard hotel room with everything you need. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Pool, good value.
Tired furnishings. Externally needs a bit of brightening up.

Pool was ok
Not normally a complainer but staff were miserable. Very uncomfortable. Room was horrendous, hairdryer from 1800s tv that didn’t work. Marks all over the furniture. Toilet had faeces marks on it when we arrived. Tried to bath then water started pouring out of the back of the toilet flooding bathroom. Cold tap didn’t work. WiFi didn’t work so myself and my son had a broken tv and no wifi to use our phones. Wedding on which we weren’t made aware of which was really loud all night so my young son couldn’t sleep. Pub had none of the menu in stock. What we did order looked and tasted disgusting. It was just a hellish night away to be honest. Never been anywhere like it in my life 🤢

Ease of access
The room was well worn and tired. Carpet was cut too short exposing all carpet tacks and there was a significant rip in the carpet, mouldy bathroom, dodgy door lock which had us stuck in the room for about 10-15 minutes.
Staff member on the desk was extremely rude. Threw my partners bank card at him and slammed my ID on the desk. He’s either brand new in the hospitality sector or doesn’t like his job.

The room was good, and the bed was comfortable . Breakfast is good. there is plenty of choice. The pool is a good size and wasn't cold. Jacuzzi sauna and steam room were nice and hot. The Old Post House pub is OK with a selection of beers. The staff are friendly.
The room was too hot and you couldn't turn the radiator off. They don't refill your coffee and tea every day. The food in the pub was bland and not that good. There is no real ales to choice from either.

The staff had a good working relationship, very helpful and friendly.
They helped me out last minute when I was stranded without anywhere to stay, the atmosphere of the pub was great

The breakfast was generous.
I've never had to ask for a bedside table when I've arrived at my hotel room before! To be fair, once asked for, a bedside table duly appeared.
3.5
The use of the gym and pool!
The bathroom had a folding door - didn't work very well and abit worried about having the windows open on the ground floor at night...but if didn't have them open it was to hot.

Great location, rooms were clean and plenty of space. Access to pool and facilities were really good.
Staff at breakfast were lovely and also the ladies who were cleaning the rooms were really helpful and friendly.
There was maintenance works in the next door room that lasted hours. The hammering and drilling was so loud that it was hard to even hear my family in the same room and where our disabled family member needed a nap, she wasn’t able to. Staff weren’t helpful at all and just said it would be done in a few hours time.

Changed my room
Cold undercooked breakfast and waited 30 minutes for mint sauce for a lamb dish that was served cold.
The bath taps ran sporadically and radiator was cold the room was filthy and smelt foul, the TV did not work at all and remote was sticky. After 3 visits to complain at reception I was offered another room that was a little better but still not clean at all.
I was promised a refund but was never contacted by the management despite being promised a call from them the next day by the receptionist.

Good value for money.
Pool was good.
Reasonably priced food.
There were people in the room which we had just been given the keycard to upon check in. Went back to reception to tell them and was given a different room number and told to ‘try this one’.
Shower was nowhere near hot enough.

room was freezing and dirty
