Good sized car park, reception just to left inside main entrance. Efficient check in. Good sized well appointed room. Good choice of food and drink with offers in menu. They change daily. Overall pleased, will stop there again.
Busy road getting out of carpark but not an issue.

Good service. Clean rooms.

The staff were all lovely and the room was clean and tidy. I think it worth mentioning that in the bathroom in my room the towel rail and the electric shaving socket were both high up - probably too high for shorter people.
The beer and evening meal were so so. I was there on a Monday after a hot weekend so beer supplies were down. My first three choices were unavailable.
Breakfast was fine.
A big problem for me was not the hotel, but that Expedia is advertising the hotel as being at 358 rather than 385 Martson Road. I walked from the railway station and arrived at 358 Martson Road and realised I was not at the right address.

MY 2ND STAY, IN A WEEK, AT THE HIGHFIELD IN MIDDLESBROUGH WAS VERY GOOD. I SLEPT WELL AND THE FOOD WAS TO STANDARD. AS USUAL, THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN. I ENJOYED MY STAY.

Issue with shower curtain resolved hassle free as soon as raised. Rooms are clean, restaurant not so (all tables seemed to be sticky). Old building so some wear and tear evident (ie leak water marks, broken old skirting etc). Staff friendly and welcoming. Restaurant also let us down as many drink items on menu were not available.

Good hotel, be weary of the car park.
Hotel, clean, warm and quiet.
Pub busy, good food and drink.
Car park, plenty of room but be prepared to have your spare wheel stolen, windows smashed and tools taken. 3 vehicles were done over when I stayed (for a week). According to the police it happens a lot and the CCTV is useless. So be careful, make sure everything is out of sight if parking there and make sure if you have an underslung spare wheel that it has extra locks on it.

Great place to stay when visiting Middlesbrough. Clean and welcoming, on site of lively pub which serves food. Quiet bedrooms, with expected amenities, only issue no mirror at vanity table/desk where the plug sockets and hairdryer are located, could be easily rectified.

We booked this hotel as a place to stay whilst seeing family and we would highly recommend it. Check in was fast and efficient. Room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. We will be booking again very soon.

We have stayed before. My wife is a wheelchair user and as requested we got a ground floor room which was much appreciated.

We booked the Highfield Hotel for a short break, to visit family and friends. It's our first time staying here, but it wont be the last. Check-in was faultless and easy, with a friendly member of staff. After a recent refurb, the rooms are beautifully decorated & very comfortable and even though we we only stayed for 3 nights, our room was cleaned every day and was nice & fresh when we returned each day. Breakfast was a fab selection and the food in the restaurant was very reasonably priced and good sized portions. The only negative is the exterior is looking a little tired and the windows definitely need replacing for double glazing, but that didnt prevent the room from being cosy & warm.

Comfiest bed ever.

The staff were very welcoming. The room was clean and modern and comfortable. The only issue I have is when I pre-booked the breakfast was £16 but if you paid at the hotel it was only £7.99. The breafast was not worth £16 but nothing was wrong with it. The dinner was excellent value and good size portions

Brand new room and bathroom (Room 3). Comfortable, clean, and a great breakfast, friendly service, good value.
Will definitely stay here again.

Have stayed here many times but the rooms have been refurbished so they are nicer. Liked that we could bring the dog in. Very comfy bed and surprisingly quiet at night
The hotel is a 20 min walk from the town centre which is perfect for us. Have never had any problems here and the staff are always friendly. I especially like that the rooms have proper baths, deep with loads of hot water, such a treat! Looking forward to our next visit already.

Needs renovations. Well located though. Not sure I’d stay for more than one night. The price however reflects this.

The staff were polite but never took any responsibility.
The room was dirty my wife had to wipe the inside of the wardrobe. Light switch was dirty had to be cleaned and the curtains needed a wash. Bathroom floor was dirty shower would go hot and cold due to the old boiler as advised by a manager. Mould on the bathroom ceiling and around the bath. Flush handle was loose and could be pulled off. Poor wifi no tv signal as mentioned in the list of services. We did complain about the above but no one seemed bothered. Breakfast was good and choice was ok. We booked for 3 nights and only stayed for 2. A manager did inform us that some of the rooms were going to be updated at the end of Jan 22. Furniture was poor thrown better out.

This hotel has so much potential. It’s very cute on the outside with a nice restaurant on the inside. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room itself was not great. It was freezing cold when I walked in. The bathroom was horrible. From missing grout on the floor tiles to mold in the shower. No proper soap, just body wash. There was a smell on the pillows and you can hear everyone as they walk through the hallways just outside. There was also a horrible smoke smell when I left the room in the morning. The breakfast was decent. Would have loved decent coffee and not instant coffee packets. Overall, you get what you pay for.

We were dropping my duaghter off at Uni for 1st time and needed a bed fro the night. Everyone was lovely, the rooms were comfortable but just needed some TLC. I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast I had vegetarian full English [ childsize because of fruit and cereal 1st] but the sausge was overcooked and a bit crunchy. Overall a pleasant stay though.

Can't complain. It's a Grene King pub and was £70 for the night incoluding Breakfast. It was round the corner from where I was working and the driving ranbge ;-)
Eveing meal was good I had sa naked steak (Steak and salas) and the salad was large which is what you want. reasonably priced food as expected for a Hungry Horse.

We stayed in 2 rooms as I was traveling with my teenage daughter. We had room 3 and 5. 5 was wuite nice, goid size, comfy, bathroom not great but functional.
Rm 3 smelt awful, my daughter said she'd be ok but I could not sleep with the smell.
It was cheap and almost cheerful, could be better with a bit of TLC, hope they can iron out the issues.
Overall, not unhappy and id probably stay again if I was in the area.
