We’ve rented vacation homes on the east coast, on the west coast, the Caribbean and in Hawaii numerous times over the past 50 years with good results on average. Occasionally we’ve been disappointed; occasionally we’ve felt that we found a real prize. But on average, we’ve gotten what we expected in our rentals. Never, until this one, have we found issues that impacted our stay the way the following have.
This is a nice home, I think, if properly managed and maintained. We (our extended family of adults) found it on VRBO and engaged it for a family reunion/vacation for 2 weeks ending 1 September 2024.
While (at least) parts of the second floor were cooled by the A/C system, the lower level was quite warm. We had problems opening and closing windows in the first floor bedrooms. . (i.e. the windows would not open and close smoothly and easily.) A phone call to the local manager resulted in his visit to deal with this. And to advise us that “the A/C system has an issue and we are awaiting parts to be repaired.” So now we learned that the A/C system didn’t work properly and would NOT likely work properly through-out our stay on this tropical island. WOW! We never expected this revelation in a “Luxury” rental. There should have been some warning, and there should be some recompense. The manager told us it would be best not to open any windows. Really?
So we lack air conditioning on the first floor in this tropical environment.

Our experience on the island and at the property was amazing. We could not ask for anything more and truly enjoyed our time. Would definitely rent from Sue again! Property Mgr. Richard was amazing as well!!

We had a wonderful time! The pool and hot tub are great, very close to beaches and restaurants. House has a lot of amenities.

This is a great house for a large family. We stayed June 25-July 2, 2024. We had a total of 11 people. Plenty of room for all. Enough bathrooms for everyone. Plenty of space for meals together. Pool and spa was very nice and got used everyday. House is close to beaches on the north shore. Hanalei town, Princeville just down the street.
Queensbath within walking distance. Hideaway beach close. We had an enjoyable time and have no problems recommending this house.

The house was beautiful! It was very well stocked with amenities and it was very clean! It was a very nice neighborhood and close to some beaches. I loved the pool because it wasn’t as deep as some, and since I don’t do well in the water it was more enjoyable. Perfect size for children whose kids are small or not strong swimmers! We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this beautiful home!

Our extended family from California, Ireland, Australia and North Carolina converged in Kaui and stayed in this gorgeous home! We couldn't have asked for anything more--ideal location, beautifully furnished, fully equipped kitchen and amenities, and all beach and activity gear (beach chairs and umbrellas, boogie boards, bikes. beach blankets). This house had everything! We would stay at Sue's home again the next time we are in Kaui.

Very comfortable, clean and everything we needed. Kitchen and pantry are fully stocked.

Great house to manage a large group and a great location to head into Hanalei or Kilauea. The back yard landscaping makes you feel as if you are in a remote area. The property owner and manager, were very easy to work with. Highly recommended if you need a place on the north shore.

We stayed at this property for a week with our family. The house is absolutely amazing and it has everything that you would need. Sue has been very communicable and has reached out multiple times to make sure that everything was going OK. She was prompt to answer any questions also! We definitely plan on coming back, visiting her house again in the near future!

The home is so beautiful and has plenty of room for all guests. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook meals and peaceful backyard to enjoy your meals at. Unfortunately the floors are slippery with socks and my grandmother broke her hip while putting her socks on , please beware and careful. Other than our unfortunate event we really did enjoy the house.

This is a large and beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood in Princeville. We enjoyed our stay here very much but had some issues with the maintenance of the house.

The house is everything that was written about it! The pond out front is fun, the patio in the back was outstanding and the backyard itself is magnificent! There was even croquet for the kids and adults to enjoy everyday. The property is close to everything ~ there was nothing else needed! We would stay there over and over again. Thank you!

Of the handful of VRBO rentals we have booked, this one ranks the best. The house and property were gorgeous, extremely clean, and well maintained. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and the second refrigerator in the garage was helpful. There was plenty of beach towels and equipment (e.g. beach chairs, umbrellas, and cooler) that made our beach excursions very pleasurable. The small, font walkway pond with frogs provided nightly enjoyment along with the visiting neighborhood chickens/roosters during the day. The location seemed centrally situated to the Princeville area and provided walkability to Queen’s Bath. Sue Alluri (owner) and Thames Goodwin (local property manager) provided quick responses to questions prior to our arrival. Thames quickly addressed a few minor issues during our stay and provided useful suggestions on what to visit in the area. We all wished we could have stayed longer. A big thank you to Sue and Thames in making our two family stay memorable.

Surpassed all expectations
This is a phenomenal property!
Our group of 11 (5 couples and a single) fit perfectly in the 6 bedrooms. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms are up to date. The open living area is very accommodating for a large group. Everything was clean and well equipped.
The kitchen is large and has plenty of counter space. There are more than enough dishes for everyone. There is a large grill for cookouts.
There is a wonderful covered porch adjacent to the kitchen. We loved sitting out there during breakfast or in the evenings.
The property manager Thames was very responsive. (We were running low on propane for the grill, and he was there at the house within 15 minutes with a new tank 😀). He was also knowledgeable about things to do in the area.
The house is 2 mins from the Princeville Shopping Center, and about 10 minutes to Hanalei. The neighborhood is a great place to walk and enjoy the morning or evening breeze.
A word on the weather in July: the Princeville forecast almost always shows a 40-60% chance of rain. But most of this is at night, early morning, or consists of an occasional passing shower. It never affected our day trips or time at the beach.
Princeville is about an hour from Lihue, so you have to build that into your plans. It is about 2 hours to Waimea Canyon. But there is so much beauty along the way, you should take your time. There is some traffic buildup around Kapaa, caused by road construction.
In short, we cannot recommend this place too highly. It is perfect!

It was a great house for our family of 11. Lovely decor. Many amenities…well furnished kitchen, washer/dryer, extra fridge in garage, plenty of beach towels and toys. I would suggest investing in some new sheets that fit the beds. Lightbulbs need to be replaced in kitchen and master bath. Otherwise it was a great place. We enjoyed our week.

Perfect dream vacation home!
This was more than we could have imagined. We had 4 of our married kids and their spouses with us so 10 total. A vacation we have been planning for two years started out perfectly. If you have a large group this is the house for you. We all had our own private rooms. The downstairs rooms had to share a bathroom but that was no issue. The family room also was a perfect fit for us to watch TV and play games. We cooked dinners or lunches everyday at the house. The grill worked out well to. Loved that there were dinnerware to use, spices, salt and pepper, cooking spray ect. We figured people had left those things so we left ours to because it was nice to have it already there. We loved the pantry storage, laundry room and garage laundry area was a added bonus .
Closets were awesome because there were hangers to hang clothes and I loved having a dresser in the master closet. You could just move right in for the week you are there.
Something we used everyday that was also an added bonus was the boogie boards, beach towels, small and large coolers and the cute little beach chairs. This was awesome. We felt like Sue really cared about her guest to make your stay like your home away from home.
This property was in such a beautiful neighborhood. We walked everyday around the golf course and at night we would go watch the sunset. Even though it's further away from alot of our activities we were OK with that because the peaceful home like area was not touristy at all. We walked to Queens bath about 5 times, we ate at the Pizza place and the golf course grill. Our son in laws also golfed and said it was one of their top 5 moments in their lives a dream come true. What I also liked is a mile away there is the Princeville center with grocery store, eating and shopping and of course the favorite ice cream shop.
We also loved that you could walk to two different beaches and lots of places to explore once you were there. We swam with sea turtles at both of those beaches.
Hanalei was 5 minutes away and that was a perfect little get-away for shopping and eating.
The property manager was so helpful. We couldn't get in with the code that was given. We called and he was over in less than 5 minutes. We also called him and he gave us places to go.
The greatest thing was we were able to check in earlier and also we were able to stay later on the last day because of the red eye flight.
If ever we come to Kauai again this is the place! 💖

Princeville Paradise
The home was perfect for our needs! The house manager and owner worked very hard to prep the house for our arrival. It was clean and exactly like the pictures. Close walk to hideway beach or a short drive to Hanalei Bay! Offered some beach activity items, cooler, and towels which were helpful as we did not bring enough. Overall would highly recommend staying at the place!

Beautiful home away from home
Lovely property, nice amenities. Bed/bath arrangement downstairs a little problematic with 5 sharing one bath. A few small hickups: we had to purchase batteries for the grill starter, weak water pressure in auxiliary kitchen sink, refrigerator in kitchen needed new filter, main oven didn't want to light. Main drawback was the bathroom situation on the first floor.

Incredible property!
My wife and I rented this property for us and 8 others to stay at to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. It was our hope that we could all gather and celebrate under one roof. And this property was everything we hoped for. The entire property was well kept, rooms were clean and up to date, and it's location in Priceville was perfect. The listing was spot on, with 6 bedrooms, 3 of which on the second floor had their own bathrooms, and the 3 on the main floor had 1 shared bathroom. There was also an outdoor shower connected to the laundry room. What we didn't expect to find, was snorkeling and boogy board gear in the garage for use at the local beaches.
Our only complaint would be that there were a few amenities that did not work upon arrival, but the owner and property manager on-site were incredibly quick to help and resolve.
We would definitely recommend staying here, and will likely come back again ourselves!
Thanks Sue!

Great House!
This was a nice property and in a nice neighborhood of many rental properties near a golf course. We had a very pleasant stay and the grounds were well kept and the house was clean. We really enjoyed the large livingroom and the backyard patio for morning coffee. The beds were comfortable, but most of the beds were very creaky. Our only main issue was that a very large centipede (like 8 inches long) was in the closet under clothing and we found a roach in one of the beds. The manager said that's how island life is, but part of me thinks that better critter/bug spraying would be good as this could have caused a hospital stay if it stung anyone.

Lovely spacious home, well maintained and well provisioned.
We loved our stay, walking distance to Makai Golf Pro Shop, and to the Princeville resort for its Spa. Easy trip into Hanalei and all it has to offer. Beach chairs, towels and coolers provided for our trips to the beach. Very satisfied, we will come back.

Beautiful Home away from home!!
This home was amazing!! A true home away from home! There was plenty of rooms with bathrooms in each which was nice for cleaning up, and getting ready for activities. There was beach gear for almost everyone( chairs, snorkel gear, umbrellas, etc.) big backyard, we hired musician and hula dancers that performed in the back, which was great! The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances for everything and a bbq, and a fridge in the large garage, ( which we packed with all our drinks and larger food items) The property is very private and on a nice quiet street. All in all, we enjoyed this property ALOT! We will be coming back to this home very soon! And to top it off, the owner was very helpful from the moment of our interest to even after our stay, with lots of useful suggestions about the island. Thank you again for letting is experience the island in your beautiful home!
