Location of the property and access to soft play and swimming
Over priced bar.
Staff for the majority of the stay was fine
Duty manager on lates would not take our complaint
Issues with fire alarm sensor, fire alarm went off 4 times during our stay 3 times during the day and once in the evening.
Screaming kids everywhere unable to settle
We ended up checking out early and moving to another hotel.
Very poor from the management team as they would not log a complaint on their system.

Beautiful location . Staff in restaurant were excellent . Easy check in even though busy .
Food in restaurant for buffet breakfast was amazing .
A very comfy bed
Only the one issue we had was that even with wall radiator our room was cold . The room never seemed to heat up even though radiator was on full heat .

Location was good parking and use of the pool was good
Facility was a bit run down. The breakfast was average and most of the staff seemed bored!! The steam room at the pool was disgusting and in need of a clean same as the floors at the pool

Location, staff, room, breakfast - all
Excellent
Swimming pool fabulous but showers freezing.

Really nice interior to the room.
Good quality breakfast.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Really great central location in Aviemore, easy walking distance to all amenities and short drive to other adventures.
Lots of different options within the resort itself, cinema, shops, pool, restaurants.
The shower was stone cold, however the bath gave warm water - reported to reception staff who said they would send maintenance out to have a look.
Pool locker rooms feel a bit tired and some lockers out of order and changing rooms with no locks. Again pool showers freezing.
Partner used the gym but no real weights to use so partner decided to use pool instead.

The staff were lovely and room was Ok in need of a bit of a refit.
At around 11.00pm the couple in the room above us decided to hang out their window smoking and chatting on mobile phones on loudspeaker. This went on for several hours and when asked to be quiet they just gave us abuse and refused. The smoke was wafting into our room as our window was open due to the room being very hot. At about 2.00pm they decided to be quiet after a domestic dispute which we heard every word of. We told the receptionist in the morning and she said that someone from the hotel would contact us but we have heard nothing at all from anyone and that was 5 days ago. Not really ideal.

Good location, nice room, quality breakfast
Room was not serviced despite being out all day. Returned at 4pm to an untouched room.

All under one roof and close to village
A wee bit noisy one night.
Probably a wedding but nothing that would stop me going back as I’ve done often in the past.
Breakfast a bit disappointing compared to past experiences with some items cold or short.

A good selection of food for breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. The room was clean and the size was fine, with the room kept at a good temperature for me. I liked the pillows, and I was pleased with the hairdryer available. The bathroom was nice with some good options for soaps. There were lots of spaces available for parking, and we were able to park in a place where we could see the car from the hotel room. There are a few shops nearby which is handy. The location is great for going on relaxing walks.
No plug sockets for my phone near the bed. Decor in the room felt a little dated (though clean). TV didn't have many channels. Although the restaurant staff were friendly, despite being a couple, we were sat between several families with small children while other (older) couples were sat a little further away in a more quiet section. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was quite expensive for what it was. The way the restaurant was laid out made it seem like it was a bit of an afterthought, especially the toilets. We would have rather had dinner in town, but we didn't know you needed to book in advance for these, and we were turned away (obviously this isn't the hotel's fault but it will be useful to know if you are looking to stay there).

Good location close to Station which suited as was visiting the Strathspey Railway
Confusing layout of resort

Pool and soft play for the kids
The restaurant was running out of food well before the cut-off time for breakfast (15 minute wait for more to be cooked). Shortage of food because of delivery problems.

Good facilities, good dinner options, and the lady at the Laggan bar was just great.
The hotel looks understaffed at the moment, which resulted in only being able to use the pool at specific times, and a fairly late check-in, by 16:00.

Liked the location, the resort is central with the train station and bus stops at the entrance to the main gates of the resort. We booked the Macdonald highland hotel. Reception staff were really nice although the English accent was a surprise but very welcoming and helpful and you were welcomed as you would expect in any resort hotel. Gave us all the information we needed, answered questions and directed us to the location of our room. Lovely reception pool staff. The resort had a pool, sauna, steam room. Our room was nice enough, bed was massive and it was crisp clean sheets, feather pillows to melt in to. The bathroom was nice a big space with shower over bath so option of a bath if you liked. The view was facing west if weather nice got nice sunsets and although you could see a bit of parking and slight industrial when standing looking out, when seated it was beautiful. The birds could be heard, the trees and away from it all feel was bliss. overall very quiet. The room has good sound proof and only heard people when in corridor. The breakfast was lovely and fresh in the Monday with good selection. cereals, porridge, cooked breakfast and continental if you you liked.
Resort shopping staff were fab so friendly and down to earth. The room had table and 2 comfy chairs and was very relaxing. The toiletries were lovely. We had bathrobes and slippers. Liked being able ti open the window to let air in. Room was a nice temperature. Lovely fluffy towels. Best of all really was the big comfy bed.
The room was slightly dated. Window was needing a clean.
The first Scottish accent wasn’t heard until the pool. after that the restaurant breakfast staff were Scottish but being honest they were not welcoming the supervisor/manager was miserable looking and we just felt that feeling that they didn’t want to help or be bothered. very off putting.
The lifeguard at pool watched us waddle our way to the far away side and struggle getting into the pool and she could have said that it had an easy access area. The whirlpool was not on.
The toilets in changing rooms were disgusting and stunk of wee.
On our second day we had been out expecting housekeeping would have been in to replenish coffee, tea, loo roll as we were meant to have room checked but came back to no coffee, tea and very little loo roll. We phoned reception and were told someone would be up with some but gave up after an couple of hours and didn’t want to phone down again.
We were also meant to have conditioner but that wasn’t in our room either.
The shower in room in need of a refit. The daft hand rail was in the worst place possible, not sure how it would be any use. The annoying cheap shower hose kept moving and had to hold the thing and wash hair one handed and it kept getting caught up on the tap and putting bath tap on. The water temperature couldn’t be regulated. Hot one min then cold the next. I’ve probably got dandruff and thrush after that shower experience.
