Breakfast was great, service was really fast and the food was good. We also ate dinner here 2 out of 3 nights because it's one of the higher rated restaurants, many choices for the family and children's menu. A bagpiper played out front in the early evening which was fun and enjoyed by everyone. It was directly across from the train and bus station so easy to get to places from.
The staff for dinner and breakfast never had a break it seemed. Possibly understaffed but with how fast service was it wasn't a problem for the guests, just noticed that they were all working very hard. 1st floor you can hear the bar music so if you are a light sleeper ask for the 2nd floor. The door keys are very heavy and large to carry around. They put one of the members in the group that had difficulty walking on the 2nd floor and since we arrived later than them we couldn't convince them to switch with the other 2 rooms we had on the 1st floor and with no lift it was quite a few stairs.

Old world charm, excellent food and comfortable bar attached.

Lovely independent hotel in the middle of Aviemore. We booked an economy room which was small but ideal for one night. Ate at the restaurant which was a lovely meal - there was even a smaller portions option for the over 60s. Excellent breakfast with hot and cold options. Plenty of car parking, directly opposite the railway station and very close to the main shopping parade. We will use this hotel again.

Staff in the restaurant were very friendly. Food was excellent. Location of hotel very good.
Hotel very old fashioned and badly needs a refurb. Wifi very poor and intermittent, even in the lobby and bar,

It’s a nice building and well maintained
The layout of the room. The mirror and dresser would be better near the window. It was too dark where it was. A choice of pillows would of been good. They were to high.

Beautiful building in Aviemore. Everything is in close proximity like Craigellachie Nature Reserve, Loch Morlich, Loch an Eilein and Cairngorms Mountian.
Breakfast and dinners were excellent and the pub on the other side had live music every night with friendly bar staff always cracking a joke.
Staff could be more helpful with suggesting tourist activities.

The on-site restaurant is fabulous! I had lunch, dinner, and breakfast there and they were all excellent. The restaurant staff were extremely helpful.
This hotel doesn't offer a luggage locker for securing your luggage on-site before check-in or after check-out. If you are traveling without a car, you either have to haul your luggage around while walking and taking the local bus, or pay for the luggage storage locker a few blocks down the street and transport your luggage to the storage, on foot.
The warm water for the faucet in the en suite bathroom was barely a trickle and hardly got warm.
There is no elevator, which their website does specify so I knew in advance that I would be taking stairs. That's not a big deal for me since I was only carrying luggage up and down the 3 flights of stairs one time, but some people might really have a hard time with it.

The ambiance of the building and interior was really nice. The staff was really friendly.
The room was very noisy. You could hear your neighbours talking and the stuff cleaning the bar (I guess?) at 12 pm.

Location, food and room was quirky (King room 201) looking over the front.
Shower in the room was not fit for purpose and the whole thing needed renewed. Coombed ceiling beside bed. Not good if you tall.

The bar and restaurant staff were fantastic. Decided to eat here both nights we stayed as the food was superb! Extremely friendly woman serving us the second night, wish we had caught her name.
Parking at the hotel is difficult, but 5 minutes along the road was a public car park that was free overnight.

Room was lovely big comfy bed. Breakfast, brought grandchildren in for breakfast as they were staying in lodge , staff were great and went that extra mile to accomodate childrens request for breakfast , staff exceeded our expectations. Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay.
There was nothing I did not like.

Reception staff so friendly and would do anything to help. Happy no dogs allowed in the bar or restaurant.
Bar staff waited at least 10 mins to be served as noone there and it was quiet. The amount of dogs, did not realise there was a floor in the hotel for non dog guests, plenty barking ! Hotel very clean but very tired.

Quaint independent hotel with lovely bar in the centre of town. The breakfasts are hearty scottish fare to make ready for a day on the mountains.
Not really a true negative, hot room even when the heating was off and the windows slightly open. Was fine in winter, but could be an issue in summertime.

Food was really amazing for both evening meal and breakfast. Lovely foyer to enjoy drinks with a dog in tow. Very pleasant atmosphere.
We were told not to worry about the small payments for one of our breakfasts and dog as we left in the morning but then later received a call to please return to pay for it by a different member of staff. Not worried about such a small payment and very happy to pay but felt really bad as if it seemed we'd tried to leave without paying so my partner returned to pay. Just a misunderstanding I'm sure though.

Good location in Aviemore, clean and warm
Seems very pricey for what it is really, it's good but not great. If you like to be in the epi centre of lots of tourists this is your place.
