What a lovely find. I stopped over for one night in Épernay on my way to the Loire region. I found this hotel and selected it for it's simple charm, easy access and off street free parking behind the Hotel. During my journey I had some delay on the road and messaged the owner. That I would be an 1 to 2 hours later. The hotel has a nice vintage style French bar as well and the owners welcomed me there. The room was fresh clean and bright. The location is just on the outer side of the small town of Éparney, you can easily walk to the Centre to visit it during the day and/or a for bite to eat in the evening. But there are also a few options nearby (such as a pizza place I had breakfast at the hotel the next morning. Really good and a lot! Owners are so nice, I will definitely visit again!

Calm and beautiful

the hotel is small but cozy, they make you feel like home. Everything is clean, the staff is super kind and helpful. we love staying there.

There is not lift but the staff helps with your luggage

The staff were very polite and helpful. Communication was good. The room and hotel were very quiet. The shared toilet and shower were always available and I never had to wait. The wifi and TV worked well. The location was convenient for the town centre, supermarket and station. I was so satisfied that I booked an extra night.

I would have liked a bigger (or second) pillow and a reading light.

Could use an AC as it was 35+ for our visit, but other than that unbeatable value.

Comfortable and good value.

Breakfast, at extra cost, was good. The hotel is a little way out of town which was not a problem for us but might be for people wanting to visit the town centre and champagne houses. There is ample parking.

Le Colbert is better described as a pension. It is quite basic and the decor dated - but nonetheless comfortable and the staff were very helpful.

IMO really very modest facilities for a hotel, in a somewhat run-down neighbourhood. Pity.

Friendly, down to earth welcome by the owner. This was OK. Breakfast was simple but good, since it was not expensive either. Good shower.

the hotel didn't meet our expectations. Room was clean and neat but very small. Good shower: in fact the only asset. Bed was OK, but pillows were fluffy, no support for the head at all. Worst was the suffocating heat: there was no ventilation. We had to leave the window open all night to get some fresh air but the hotel is located on a busy street crossing with traffic lights so you can guess the rest. We had a bad night. Did not feel well next morning….

Good for a couple of nights - 15min to city center

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are basic, but clean, with good WiFi and the price is not too expensive. If you don't mind a short walk to the city center, this is a great option for a night or two! Just maybe bring your own towels :)

The towels have a very unpleasant smell - almost like old body odor. The toilet and shower were separate from the room (this was in the room description, I just don't like this arrangement). The hotel is on a busy street next to a stoplight, so vehicles accelerate loudly when the light turns green. Sleeping with the window open was extremely noisy, but sleeping with the window closed was extremely hot. The location is great if you have a car, but walking is a bit far from the city center (about 15-20 minutes).

Fabulous

Super nice host, very helpful with everything, gave us great tips. Basic room (clean and comfortable), basic breakfast, but overall really great for this price! Parking outside, short walk to the center.
