Hospitality is afstandelijk.

Mooie locatie, prima kamer, lieve mensen. In het restaurant kun je fantastisch dineren!
De keuze bij het ontbijt was te beperkt

Hotel, property, beautiful room, very comfortable and clean staff, friendly and helpful.
The shower in my bedroom was was hard to operate as there was no instructions on how to use the overhead shower so unfortunately had to shower every day with the foot shower not ideal. The information booklet in my room was useless to me as I was unable to read it as no part was translated in English. The lack of staff during my stay was very frustrating I would’ve like to address some problems at the beginning of my stay to ensure a more comfortable experience
Breakfast was disappointing as I had to leave my hotel to the next building to find very little choice on offer to eat.
But above all, I could not use my mobile phone in the hotel for the duration of my stay due to lack of reception and Internet access. I was able to use my phone and Internet access once out of the building

The hotel is set in really beautiful grounds, we had a comfortable stay, the room was good and clean, though a/c would have been nice, especially for the price.
As many people have said, breakfast is a very simple affair, and would have been fine if the room was cheaper.
The restaurant is indeed fancy and formal, as other reviews mentioned. We didn't even have appropriate clothing and were clearly being judged by other guests, but there's no other option nearby, the brasserie was closed. The food was very good though.

The rooms were modern and clean and we had a balcony which was nice. Fantastic shower! We ate in the restaurant and all agreed it was the best meal we'd eaten all holiday, the steak was particularly delicious! Breakfast was also good. Great location, hotel within yards of the Belgian border.
The corridors in the hotel were rather old fashioned and dated, they could do with being brought up to the same standard as the bedrooms. Check in was a bit confusing as a sign on the door of the hotel told us to go to another building, we had to use Google Translate to work it out (not ideal at the end of a hard days driving) There was a sign saying the gardens were closed...what a shame!

We have stayed at that hotel for thirty years, every time we had to travel from The Netherlands to Germany or Switzerland. We have known it in its heydays, when it was a member of "Relais & Chateau" and the restaurant had a Michelin star. Even though neither applies these days, it is still a great place to stay. We had dinner outside overlooking their park-like garden and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, this could not be said about breakfast. We came down at 9:20 and the breakfast buffet had been eaten bare (e.g., there was only one croissant left.) Coffee was lukewarm and the waiter disappeared after he brought it and was not seen again. Five minutes before 10, the light was toned, to indicate the end of breakfast time. This experience was particularly striking, because breakfast used to be excellent in the olden days at this hotel.
Breakfast, see above.

the restaurant is just great. Spacious, good quality food, nice service, good wine card. View on the beautiful garden.
perhaps installing a small fridge in the room

beautiful location, superb restaurant
the waiter who "served" breakfast in the morning must follow some lessons How to smile and be friendly to customers.... Very uninspiring person
4.3
Wooded valley setting. Decor of reception rooms attractive. some staff very helpful. Free use of decent VTT bikes. Lovely walks. Dinner was good but overpriced.
Some staff rude/ boorish. Management indifferent to our needs. No hot water for shower 3 mornings at 9.00 “because laundry used it.”. We needed to get up earlier. No fridge or coffee making facilities in room. Meagre bathroom toiletries.

The decoration is just top class classic. The dinner in the garden during a warm summernight, just amazing. The chefs home made desserts is a must.
Unfortunately breakfast was served only inside the Auberge de la Gäichel, and not on the nice terrace of the hotel.
The room price on booking was 10€ more expensive per night, then the official room price in the hotel.

free water, nice staff
bed could be renewed

The room was a good size, breakfast lovely and the staff were very friendly.
Would have appreciated a small fridge and kettle.

Superb hotel not far from the motorway in a beautiful quiet village , the interior decor was relaxing

Great breakfast in a wonderful dining room.
I couldn't easily find a place to park. The parking space was full with cars from people coming for a wedding party. But I found a place after all.

Perfect location! Great restaurant - high quality, super friendly staff ... but ... comes at a price :). Rooms are not expensive but the restaurant is ... but it is worth it. Free and spacy parking. It is really nice to see how the atmosphere of a 100+ year old place has been maintained ... it does remind you of how it must have been at the turn of the 1900 century. nice!
Not much! Rooms are a bit small but ... who notices that when one sleeps. Rooms are without airco - this was no problem for us, despite 25C outside, but may be relevant for others.

Rooms somehow outdated but well maintained

Price quality relation very good....
