Location and views outstanding.
Restaurant is sub par considering that is is a five
star resort. Restaurant decor and furnishings outdated, and buffet breakfast included in our stay comparable with a 3 star hotel - only instant coffee included as part of buffet. We arrived for breakfast on the second morning of our stay to find no free tables and staff looking completely overwhelmed and run off their feet.

Great view, spacious and well equipped
Complicated logistics. Can’t take car to cabin - 10 min walk or a buggy ride.
To get to restaurant required buggy ride then drive car .
Room service food was cold

Beautiful views across the Tasman Sea rooms were very clean, comfortable and nice. This place would be perfect if they just hadn’t built so many rooms, it took away from the beauty of the place.
Staff seemed a bit stressed, there wasn’t enough for the size of the property. Staff themselves seemed great but could definitely tell they needed more support. The buggy system for getting to your room doesn’t work particularly well, again due to lack of staff. We had to walk our bags to our room and it was quite a long way.

The view is excellent and for that reason alone is it’s saving grace
We have stayed before in a studio which was starting to get tired and we thought we would spend the extra and stay up higher in a 2 bedroom villa. We arrived late and were greeted by a pleasant man. We got the keys and opened the door. What greeted us was the stench of curry. The bedrooms had 4 single beds, no double bed. Because of the hour my husband and I tolerated it as we were tired. I could feel the springs through the mattress and by morning felt sick from the curry smell. The range hood had not been cleaned properly and that was where the curry smell emanated from. We look at the oven and in between the glass on the door were clumps of dust. The toilet had some issue as it took forever to refill and was noisy. We had breakfast included and I did request a late check out. We checked out at 9:30 and didn’t even bother with breakfast after sleeping in the smell of curry all night. The villa too needed a freshen up as it is starting to look tired.

Great restaurant, beautiful location and outlook.
Resort info digital only by QR code, requiring download of QR scanner, when Wifi was patchy (out of mobile range, rely on resort wifi - not always working). Tricky getting heat pump to work well (mid winter).
4.3
Beautiful settings and views. Staff in the restaurant were friendly and accommodating. Overall a pleasant stay but definitely could have been better. Saturday night's dinner in the restaurant was amazing, and well worth going back for.
Staff were overworked and stressed. Restuarant staff did their best under stress, but cracks were evident in service times and food quality, especially on Sunday. Serverly disappointed that our massages were cancelled, especially as there was still a member of staff there (totally understand the bereavement leave was necessary) but as I had booked the massage for my mum's birthday and she still couldn't receive it despite one member of staff being there was not understandable. Admin staff seemed stressed and somewhat surprised by the long weekend and the number of people booked in, and struggled to cope. Heat pump was not working in the room and a very small heater was given to replace it which didn't do much in the very cold snap of weather we were experiencing. I am not one who usually complains, and am very grateful for the staff who were doing their best despite these issues and hope this will only help improve others' stay, as without the issues would have been a fantastic weekend away (as was planned).

The location, and Robyn😊
Having Chalets 2, 3 and 4 in my view blocking parts of the beach. But still there was a view. Sorry I have a bit of OCD.

The view from our villa was superb! A relaxing, quiet time away for our wedding anniversary in a clean and modern villa. Just what we needed.
The bed was not the most comfortable bed I've slept in, and I found the restaurant food very expensive for what you got.
4.3
the view, the facilities
nothing
4.3
stunning location and very clean and tidy
The golf carts are a bit of a hassle - had a real job getting hold of reception to order one and pretty nippy on a winters day
4.3
The villa's facilities are amazing except for the bed/pillows. The spa and restaurant are algo great. Wifi works really well.
Pillows are really bad. For me it's unacceptable to fail at this in this price range..
Bed is also not as comfortable.
Breakfast could be much better as its advertised with "breakfast included" but the eggs/coffees are not included. This should be said in advance.
Definitely go in summer and not in NZ's rainy season (may-nov) as it's hard to move, potential power cuts, will have to ask all the time for a buggie to pick you up, etc.
