Comfortable room in welcoming pub in quiet location

Friendly helpful staff, excellent Nepalese food in on-site restaurant. Good cooked breakfast. The staff were very attentive, even when they were really busy. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable.

Comfortable bed and shower.

This is my first visit to this part of the country. The Lion&Fiddle is located in a small village with no nearby cafes for morning breakfast. As chef was not available in the L&F, there was no breakfast option. I did not expect to have to travel to a convenient store for sandwiches. I expected to have a breakfast meal for my business trip.

Great location, welcoming, friendly staff - will definitely stay

Great location, welcoming, friendly staff, nice atmosphere in the pub area, the restaurant was busy and buzzing. Lovely room, free toiletries, lots of space - will definitely return. Breakfast was freshly cooked and value for money.

Should have been perfect but spoilt by being woken and kept wake early.

On the face of it the place was excellent, the breakfast was too but it was not made plain enough at the outset that this is not "bed and breakfast" deal with breakfast as an extra. Also the system of booking ones breakfast the night before conflates with the fact that one might feel different about whether one wants to have breakfast or not in the morning. With the room perfect what could possibly go wrong?

What went wrong was that I was woken up both mornings at 6.15pm by noises like a boiler going on and off upstairs where the staff were or downstairs from the kitchen. This noise went off after about half a minute but kept recurring every few minutes making sleep impossible. It really is beyond credulity that people can be expected to pay for a room where sleep is made impossible and one would have expected, given the effort put into making the room so otherwise perfect, that this would not have been allowed to happen. The most important and really the only reason for staying there or at any hotel or guesthouse is to sleep. If one is prevented from sleeping then everything else becomes totally irrelevant otherwise the whole exercise is pointless.

A family run establishment who all work very hard to satisfy your expectations.

The staff were excellent and extremely friendly. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were very tasty and fulfilling. overnight parking was very helpful. The rooms were quiet with plenty of fresh air and a fan to circulate it.

Everything was great nothing to write about.

It needs Shower mats on the shower floor as the floor was very slippery after using shower gel and shampoo, The floor is an accident waiting to happen
