Lunch and dinner menus were the same and therefore restrictive, particularly being a vegetarian where options are in any case limited.

I went to this hotel already in 2022 and everything was perfect, on my stay in 2023 it was with regret to find that the quality of the food went dramatically down and also the restaurant service.

Super charming place in Arolla

Beautiful rustic historic place, lots of charm and character (especially the common rooms), wonderful restaurant - highly recommended!

Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable but a bit basic, but that is part of the charm

A cosy family orientated hotel

fantastic location and four posted beds were appreciated. well preserved Swiss historic hotel. minor point- 2 types of pillows

we were on the first floor so a voile curtain would have been good.

New chef is excellent!

This was our fifth or sixth stay at the Kurhaus in the last few years. We always enjoy our stays but this time we were blown away by the new chef and menu! The dinner we had was probably the best meal I've had in Switzerland after living here for almost 3 years. The level of service throughout the hotel has also improved significantly.

The rooms are very basic and a bit cold this time of year, but the common spaces of the hotel are very cozy.

charming hotel in an outstanding location but unfortunately the restaurant a let-down.

The location is the most outstanding feature of this hotel. Also of course it is full of history and a unique grand hotel with that charming old fashioned structure from the previous century. We have stayed here before and shall return again. It is worth mentioning that staff at the reception were extremely helpful.

The only disappointing part of this hotel is the restaurant. Very limited and poor in choice. The management need to seriously improve the dining aspect so that the whole experience is not marred by the disappointment of the restaurant and choice of such limited menu.

Faded glory

Lovely location with stunning views. Quaint building. Good walks from the hotel and lots of parking

Booked a 'room with a view' - the 'view' was of the fire escape! Rooms are basic and the hotel is rather tired. Our restaurant meal was enjoyable but expensive but don't expect much from the breakfast - not what one would expect from a hotel in this price range.

A perfect escape to the mountains with great dinners

The location of the hotel is fantastic, close to the mountains and a very spectacular view, which makes it interesting to everyone. We also had the dinner and it was great. The style of the hotel is also a bit different, which makes it more interesting and different than other hotels.

The size of the room was small and the number of options for the breakfast was limited. The behavior of the staff was nice except for the receptionist who insisted on speaking French despite being fluent in English. I mentioned a couple of times that I'm not comfortable with French and she was good with English but again continue speaking in French.

Execptional experience in the best Swiss mountain village!

We loved the old world charm in the hotel itself. We usually always choose the historical hotels, when possible, and Kurhaus was an excellent option. Everything was very clean, beds and pillows were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They picked us up from a long walk to a village down the valley. We felt like home, or like with old friends when interacting with the staff. We loved the food, really exceptional in the mountains! Our favourite item in the menu was an innovative starter, which reflected the glaciers and mountains around. Beef was great, vegetarian option in the menu was superb! Only we would have loved some local fish to be included in the menu. Breakfast was good, nothing special, exactly what you can expect in a hotel in the mountains. Arolla is one of the calmest and most beautiful places in the Swiss mountains. We will certainly be back!

We could hear the neighbours too well ;-) from their rooms. That was the only minus. We also stayed in rooms, which are not yet renovated. Personally, I was not bothered by it, but found it charming. But I am sure, some other people would like the rooms be more recently renovated.
