I’ve stayed in better hostal and this was supposed to be a proper hotel with private room. big ripoff in my opinion.
not much. it’s right on the highway and the rooms look out on a gas station with smell of gasoline and the lights on all night. No sheets on bed just a worn mattress cover (in a private room). lurid pink walls. door from room to balcony has to be kept closed because other units have access to same balcony so not safe to open door for fresh air. premises is overpriced for the quality. menu prices very high and a half of wine was double what we paid in previous accommodation along the way.
see above.

Very good
The owners were extremely welcoming, we ate dinner in the restaurant 2 evenings and the food was delicious. The location was perfect for the hikes we had planned. The room we selected was basic as we were not planning on being in the room for too long other than to sleep and as luck would have it the bed was very comfy.

Good hospitality proposition
Forthcoming hospitality mindset, excellent menue proposals/preparation and fine service, absolutely complete room decoration with all necessary items, clean and careful bedding.
Good window isolation on rooms facing the 24 hours busy road leading up to the Grand St. Bernard pass into Italy. However given external circumstances, nighttime open windows are sleep killers.

Very good
The location was great, the staff were welcoming.
I would have been more comfortable had the staff worn face masks.

Bad
The waitress named Danca (polish) she helped us to communicate. Very nice and helpful person.
When I arrived I asked to check in the owner made me wsit and prefered to help a french speaking guest. The owner and his wife ( I guess) running the hotel. Both of them were not speaking English. Moreover, they show attitude when I was speaking English. I said there are no soap and shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom. He said he wont be filling any of them because it is a dormatory. Instead of being nice he answers unwillingly and continued walking away. When I asked eye glasses short black hair women ( I guess his wife) to see thek menu, she mentioned like the kitchen is closed and I insist to see the prices and she said something like she does not have to speak englixh or so. I was attenting a race in verbier. This place is so far, the bus service is not enough starts at 7and takes more than an hour. English speaking hostile facility. Stay away

Simple roadside hotel with excellent food
I would have never expected that this roadside hotel has such a great restaurant. We had dinner in there and were really happy about the food. The staff was friendly and everything was done just like we asked. Besides great dinner and breakfast, this hotel offered us a nice hot shower and good bed after a long hiking day.
