An excellent location for exploring Ironbridge and the surrounding areas. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped.
Breakfast was very good and set us up nicely for the day.
I would definitely recommend staying there for a nice stay if you’re exploring the area, there are numerous pubs and restaurants within a short walk with the old train line path taking you right into town.
We should have booked a restaurant earlier, but it was Saturday evening and most places fill up quickly.

Lovely room, clean and welcoming, fab breakfast, friendly and helpful owners
The bed was a little hard for us, but that didn’t spoil the weekend at all

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
We received a warm welcome from James as soon as we arrived. He was friendly and helpful, and gave us some great suggestions about where we could eat and drink that evening. The hotel itself is lovely, warm, and comfortable with so gorgeous decor. Lots of teddy bears, imagine related to the Merrythought factory down the road.
We stayed in the Alexander Brodie room, which was beautifully decorated, a good size, and with a lovely four poster bed (with curtains!). The en suite was clean with some nice smelling toiletries. The bed was very comfortable, a nice firm mattress and an extra blanket for the cold January night.
A nice touch was the little Mason jars of tea coffee, sugar and hot chocolate, rather than the individual sachets found in most hotels. James gave us a little pail of fresh milk to take up, which is far nicer than the usual UHT!
Breakfast the next day was delicious, you choose what you want the night before and it is clearly cooked to order. My fruit salad was full of lots of different types of fresh fruit - strawberries, blueberries, pomegranate, grapes, melon - not a tinned pineapple in sight! The cooled breakfast was also delicious, we were particularly impressed with the peppery scrambled eggs.
I do recommend spending a peaceful half ournin the guest lounge. The sofas and armchairs are really comfortable and there is a nice selection of magazines and books to read.
The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Ironbridge. It is a pleasant walk, and you pass some interesting sights, including an old furnace and the iron bridge itself. Being that short distance e from the town centre meant the hotel was nice and quiet, and parking was nice trouble at all.
We were so impressed with the whole experience, and wholeheartedly recommend visiting Calcutt House if you are in the area. We will be back!

Location was good - 2 minute walk to one pub and 10 mins to another. Pleasant walk into Ironbridge along a footpath.
Accommodation was good. We walked into Ironbridge to have a meal but most places were fully booked!

Location, location, location!!!
Within easy reach of all the museums - most within walking distance.
Easy walking route, traffic free, into Ironbridge and also to the Coalport Museum in the other direction.
2 pubs within a couple of minutes walk.
Can't think of anything!

Staff, overall property, location and service.
Cleanliness could have been better, room we had looked tired and would benefit from a refurb. There were other rooms empty but we didn't get the chance to occupy. shame, as if we had, we would have very few grumbles.
4.5
The breakfast was very good. Also plenty of room to park and a decent pub just around the corner.
The staff were helpful and pleasant.
The room, very small uncomfortable shoebox size with a joke of an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom was very difficult to get into due to the width of it which was the same width as a domestic room door plus an extra 4 or 5 inches, you would have to tangle with both the toilet and the sink just to close the door.

Excellent breakfast

Very welcoming and accomodating host offering to meet any needs or requests. How kind! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast even though we had forgotten to fill in the choices form. The breakfast was served quickly even though we were early and nothing was lacking.
If you have a good host there is nothing to dislike. Our host was so helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed his recommendation of "The Black Swan" pub where they kindly let us eat at 5pm prior to the table bookings.

Room was small but clean and perfectly adequate for a short stay. Breakfast was very good, excellent choice ordered the evening before. Location of Calcutts House is ideal - very central for all Ironbridge museums and we walked everywhere, which was more interesting and saved on driving and parking charges.

Everything was clean and cosy - toasty warm rooms with comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and very helpful and welcoming host.

Whilst comfortable, the bed did not feel fully steady.
