Alistair and his wife very lovely people, great hospitality and exceptionally clean, which is a plus in my books.
Also, very nice surroundings and atmosphere, no noise, just pleasant overall.
The breakfast was excellent also, very accommodating.

Clean comfortable room.
Cheerful and helpful staff
Fabulous breakfast
Could hear toilet flushing and shower noise from next unit. Minor problem though.

Up until recently I have been travelling with my dog so this property was not an option but what a great find. Centrally located and very convenient for the town centre but also tucked away. Great hosts and exceptionally good value for money. Very clean and all that you needed was there.
I can't think of anything. It was better than I expected and that is always a plus!

The breakfast was excellent, and our hosts were very helpful re restaurants to eat at in the evenings and some sights to see.

Lovely breakfast with the owner and other guests; great coffee and cutlery to prepare a self-catered picknick for the next day on the room
weak wifi reception

Friendly host. Unit was functional and quiet. Very nice breakfast.
Room felt a little dated. Could do with a few more basic cutlery items.

TV wasn’t working, so had to configure

We stayed for two nights and both breakfasts were the same - boring.. When we asked for plain yogurt the first day, we were told that this is not available and when we asked for well cooked crispy bacon, we were told they just had a big pan full of bacon and it's the same for everybody. Quite rude. Also the fruit salad to go with cereals was out of the can - no fresh fruit cut up.
The water pressure in the shower was bad and there was no wifi in the room since it was too far away from the main house. No hair dryer in thebathroom. Also, the room was rather small. Good thing we didn't have large suitcases. There wouldn't have enough floorspaceto put them anywhere.

Breakfast was great, freshly made for us! Alistair was great and very helpful! Especially with the parking :) All in all we very much enjoyed our stay - it was a good location to see everything we wanted to up North!

Clean comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast.
Units are not very sound proof. Conversations from adjoining units could be heard.

I loved location, so close to Te Ahu Museum, where I was working.
I loved the fantastic welcome I received from our host, he was genuine, friendly and spoke Maori to me. I really appreciated that.
The room was small, but warm and cosy. Exactly what I needed.
The freshly cooked breakfast, hot coffee and morning banter was also great.
I recommend staying here.
Not a complaint, because I loved my stay, but there was no hairdryer.
First World problem, I know, but as a girl who has very long thick hair, it's a necessity and I'd left mine at home thinking there'd be one in the room.
Again, not a complaint, just an observation.

The owner was very nice and tried to rectify every problem as they occurred, but they should not have happened in the first place - especially for the price he charged.
That they did not realise how dreadful the room smelt and expected a paying customer to put up with it. I had to tell him to change the curtains. I then had to tell him the next day to come back and clean the windows - that still smelt of mold! This is normal cleaning - if they do it properly in the first place.

great conversation
