The location is splendid. The beach walks are available from the doorstep, the Lake District easily drivable, two heritage railways both under one hour drive, fantastic Muncaster Castle with amazing birds of pray displays and we even spotted the natterjack toad on the beach half a mile from Haverigg. There is plenty more attractions nearby or you can just watch tides coming in and out and watch the very many seabirds attracted to the exposed by low tides wast beach.
Nope… can’t think of anything!

Location was fabulous, allocated parking space right at front door, ideal for solo traveller. Comfortable bed. There was a double on second floor, carpeted, with a separate bathroom and overhead shower. However, with my heavy suitcase etc, I decided to use the twin room on ground floor, which although not carpeted, was more convenient as I had my dog with me. She had her own crate, but it was better being nearby as she did tend to need to go outside at various hours.
So useful having a washing machine and a tumble dryer, as the weather was the worst I have known in this area for many years and the pair of us did get soaked a few times.
Despite the weather, the local walks and horse riding around Haverigg and Silecroft are simply fantastic. So lovely and peaceful. Londis store just a few mins walk and I ended up using them , rather than driving to the nearby Tesco store. It was all so easy, there was enough choice for basic meals. Nice and relaxing.
Well, it didn't start of well as it took me 2.5 hrs to gain access. This was the fault of Bookings.com initially, because I never received the access information with a key code. Then , when I got that, I still couldn't get the lock box unlocked. A nearby couple helped me and managed it. An hour later the local caretaker made contact and all was well.
On my last day, I loaded up, shut the door, popped the key in keysafe, forgetting to lock door first. Phoned Sue ,the caretaker, who said not to worry as she would be round shortly. All okay.
However, I would suggest a new keysafe to avoid this problem again. A neighbour spoke to me as I was leaving, to ask if I was having trouble getting in. He was a locksmith and knew of problems.
Lastly, in the description online, it does say there is a garden, when there isn't. There is an open area of grass close by, but no secure garden. It did not bother my dog though, as I just took her outside on a lead, a matter of 10 yards or so and a poo bin was just a couple mins walk away, so very handy.
Despite these hiccups, which at the beginning were very stressful, I did have a fabulous time and would go again.

location excellent, nicely decorated, clean and tidy, had everything we needed, great layout.
not the property, but was a little confusing getting information regarding dogs and time of check in - there were far too many different telephone contact details in different t places to know who to contact, and I messaged through booking.com when booking regarding taking dogs, but never received a response.

What a little jem of a hide away, it was very clean and comfortable, the little extras you put in place was a lovely touch( wine, chocolates, biscuits and even milk in the fridge.
We tried to book again for October but you are booked up, but we will return again next year. Sitting on the balcony watching the world go by and looking out at the boats was so relaxing.
Thank you for a lovely week away.
The only thing we couldn't find was a mop to do the floor.
