The view from the terrace was breathtaking and definitely the highlight of our stay in Ribeira Quente. We were delighted to receive a welcome gift upon arrival, and the apartment was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. However, accessing the apartment with a car was quite difficult. It would have been nice to have more toiletries and a hair dryer available for guest use. Despite these minor inconveniences, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with a stunning view.

the view and the location were wonderful. Ribeira Quente is a lovely quiet town and everything is very green
the ants in the living room and kitchen were annoying

Great view to the sea and nearby village (Ribeira Quente), sound of the sea, clean, friendly host and staff, good kitchen, wonderful pool with great view, too (though you need to take some extra stairs as its not on the same level; not heated in winter)
Not suitable for people with walking difficulties, as there are some stairs to climp.
Access by car is a bit tricky but feasible, especially for larger models, as there are narrow bends in the city.

The check in and out went smoothly. The host and stuff were very friendly and helpful. The view is amazing. We spent a perfect time here.
The parking is a little tricky.

We loved sitting on the terrace outside the apartment to eat meals while enjoying the sea views. The pool area is absolutely stunning too.
The grounds are beautifully kept with lovely plants. Inside the apartment is decorated very nicely too, & we try well equipped.
The sitting space is quite small, with only 3 comfy chairs which was a little difficult as there were four of us. Maybe if the TV was wall mounted it could accommodate a small sofa? But overall it’s just lovely

Good spot, private, pool. Could use more breakfast variety, and knowing breakfast price upfront. Some small living room bugs. Plenty of hot water.
See above. Surprise breakfast cost. Bugs. Needs a toaster.

José met me with a warm welcome and it was all up from there! His property is perfectly placed in town with spectacular ocean views, a pristine infinity pool, a jungle oasis for all my plant lovers out there, and with easy access to village amenities. This will definitely be my go to anytime I end up on São Miguel! I was not ready to say goodbye.

We stayed in Casa de Pedra in 2019 and when planning our trip to the Azores this time we couldn't think of staying anywhere else! The location is amazing, tucked away in a small fishing village with just a couple of restaurants but about 15min drive from Furnas. The house is very clean and comfortable, the bed is huge and super comfy! The kitchen is nicely fitted with enough to cook if you wanted to. The bathroom is clean and the water pressure is very good! The pool is very nice (even if it was too cold for swimming in April) and the view is insane! The owner is lovely, will come and meet you in the village to show you how to get to the property. He also left us some food and wine in the house to enjoy. Can't recommend this place enough!
Nothing to do with the property itself but just be aware that the road to get to the house is very small and the parking can't be a bit tricky so if you're renting a bigger car it might be easier to park it in the village and walk up to the property (it only takes 2min!).

Hosts were helpful and attentive, meeting us on arrival to show us were house was located.
The accommodation was perfect. The pool and the facilities were excellent. Enjoyed, the view of the sea, hearing the sea and the sea birds returning at night. Location was perfect for exploring the island. The island is beautiful, very interesting with plenty to do. Highlight was seeing dolphins and sperm whales.
There is a good restaurant Ponta do Garajau within walking distance.
Definately would recommend staying at Case de Pedra and would happily return.

Amazing place in very likely the most wonderful part of the island. José and his wife are exemptionaly wonderful people and will make you feel at home in no time. Accommodation is great and the view and pool almost too good to be true. Can only recommend.

Just a few words: This place is a hidden gem for all of the people, who are searching for a calm place to rest from everyday live and gain back some energy. Its lush garden, magnificent few on the ocean and the beautiful guesthouses give you all you need to enjoy your stay. Jose - the owner and host gives you the feeling, that this place is yours for the time beeing there. A thermal bath with 39° warm water from the vulcano with its stunning botanical garden (Terra Nostra) is 10min by car from Joses place - next to other beautiful gardens, walking trails and parks (Grena Wildlife Park). A sandy beach on the Antlantic Ocean is also around the corner and Furnes, a little village with bars and restaurants (Tonys!) is close by. Joses guesthouse is made with love - you can see that on lots of details. I can recommend that place very much! Thanks Jose!

Wonderful stone house with a breathtaking view. We had a very warm welcome by Carlotta with some surprises. The pool is just extraordinary. To listen to the sea during the night is so relaxing. We had been very happy hear.

Sea view and sound of waves, complete privacy. Knowing the island to certain extent already, we probably spent more time on the terrace than usual guests but just being there is wonderful experience. Nice owners, restaurants in walking or short ride distance.
Shower head needs replacement.

We had clear needs and this accommodation fulfill them completely. Separate apartment with terrace, view to the ocean and ideally with swimming pool. Here we got it all in one! Jose is a great host, we received fruit and wine as a welcome gift at the beginning, Jose recommended basics trips and must see places around the island as well as restaurants. Accommodation is fully equipped, with 2 amazing terraces and ocean view. Swimming pool is just few steps above with view to the ocean and village. In village you can find one café bar (with great and cheap beer), one restaurant for dinner (grilled fish/meat and wine) and at the beach there is a bistro with drinks. We can imagine to spend more time here.

Sao Miguel is amazing and if your travel around there is hardly a more beautiful place fo find than the apartments, garden and pool of Jose to stay. The view is gorgeous. Jose, his wife and the stuff are kindly and accommodating. We got more than we expected and also booked. In times of Corona few tourists are on the azores, for us it was great, because we where at amazing spots without many people. But if you think about coming or not: the one or two covid-19 tests you have to do are well organized and they are worth everything you get seeing the azores and staying at jose's place.

The location and the house couldn't have been more perfect, and on top of that they have the world's best swimming pool. José was extremely helpful, giving local advice and helping me print my boarding pass the night before I left.
