About this cottage rental
Large 3 bedroom home available for summer weekly/monthly rental. Master is big enough for the queen bed and pack and plays if you bring them. Middle bedroom has a queen and a twin and still plenty of room. The dining room is so large it has 2 dining tables and sits 14 easily. Fully equipped kitchen and spacious comfortable living room! Built in 1918, this historic duplex has been beautifully remodeled and cared for. The front porch faces 5th street, and every evening a 20 minute walk takes you to the end of the Grand Haven pier to watch the sunset; your own 'Key West' experience in Michigan. Our home is located in a quaint neighborhood and is just minutes from Lake Michigan beaches, downtown shopping, restaurants and fun! A 10 minute walk takes you to the local YMCA and the area's Imagination Station, tennis & pickleball courts and skate park.There are nine restaurants, two coffee shops and a bakery within 10 blocks featuring everything from pizza to sushi to seafood to Italian to steaks. Fast food includes gyros, Italian beef , hot dogs, fried chicken and burgers. Something to please everyone. Everyone loves to sit on the porch and watch the world go by. Very charming neighborhood, our home is across the street from an exceptional 7000 sq ft mansion built in 1874 now used as a B&B.

It was a lovely old home. We enjoyed our stay. The only thing we didn’t like was the distance from the town, very noisy street, no fire pit. I believe it said there was a hot tub but there isn’t. But it was great vacation home.

Overall we had a great time, the house was big enough to fulfill our needs. The parking situation is a little tricky, but other then that nothing to complain about.

We had a wonderful stay. The home was clean, spacious for our family. Close to the waterfront and activities. Hosts were quick with communication. Onsite parking was convenient. Street traffic was noisy at times, but not enough to deter us. Beds were comfortable. Fully stocked with kitchen supplies. And onsite laundry was very convenient. Would definitely stay here again!

This property was visited by my two sisters and me. It is on the corner of a street that has quite a bit of traffic, especially in the morning and evening rush hour. It is an older home with lovely wood floors, but they are pretty creaky. The rental was listed as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath duplex. We enjoyed having our own room, however, there was only one full bath upstairs and a very small half bath on the main floor. This would definitely cause a problem if you had 4 - 6 people. The kitchen had pretty much what we needed, although if you want aluminum foil, plastic wrap, baggies of any size, you should bring your own. Also, a small thing would be a box of tissues in the house. We ended up using TP :)
The rental was located very close to town which you could walk to, but we chose to drive. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, but most likely would not choose this property in the future.

We stayed for 5 nights in June and had a wonderful time. Everything was as described in the listing and we had everything we needed. We loved the character and charm of the house - it’s spacious and great for a family trip. Jamie was great to work with and very responsive. I would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay! Located conveniently close to downtown Grand Haven, we really enjoyed walking to shop and visit the local attractions. The house was very comfortable for our family, has a very spacious dining area, and the porch is a great place to hang out! Also, the owner is very responsive if an issue arises which is a definite plus!

We just stayed for a week in this house with my family who has been going to Grand Haven for 9 years. We have stayed in many houses and this was one of the best. It was a bit farther from downtown and the beach than we usually do but that was our fault for not looking closer at the map when booking. It helped us get our steps in. It is an older house but has a new feel with the furnishings. It is very kid friendly as well. The second/downstairs bathroom is small but still perfect for an extra bathroom when needed. Overall, this was a great house.

Jamie clearly takes pride in the property, and was a great host. Well equipped unit, spotlessly clean. You can walk, bike or drive to downtown or the State Park. This was the perfect spot for our family during our week at the beach!

Great place
The property is old, but was great and had a lot of character. We stayed with our two young children. I was worried about the stairs, but the doors at both staircases helped corral them and there were no accidents. The owner was very accommodating, and we had all we needed for our 3 week stay, including a booster seat, high chair, and pack and plays. I'd recommend it for young families. The floors are creaky though, so be careful sneaking around upstairs during nap time. But it wasn't a big deal.
The location was great - a great playground for crawlers and toddlers was a half mile walk away. The beach is also super close, and so is downtown. I really recommend this place.

Lovely home in a great location!
We truly enjoyed staying in the Emerald Lady! She's a wonderful home with plenty of character and space for our family of 6. We walked into town every evening for ice cream & to watch the musical fountain show; days we walked to the beach, pickleball courts, and shopping. Perfect location close to everything we visit Grand Haven for!

We enjoyed the large dining area when we had other family members join us for breakfast. The location was nice for taking walks to shops and restaurants and the porch was great for relaxing with a nice glass of wine with family and friends.

Fun stay in this quaint old lady
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Emerald Lady. The property owner was fabulous! She even left a bottle of wine in the fridge which was a welcome treat after 12+ hours in the car. And even though it was a bit cool, we had fun exploring Grand Haven’s downtown, boardwalk, and beach. The cookie dough sundae at Captain Custard’s is not to be missed! Grand Haven surprised us
Had a very nice first experience in Grand Haven The house was over 100 yrs old but kept up very nicely and very clean. Floors creaked a lot but that’s to be expected. Plenty of room for all of us.Nice location , walked to town and short drive to beach. My only suggestion would be to either paint or update the front porch furniture. Besides that , we were pleasantly surprised with this quaint beach town. Water was clear and beaches were immaculate.

Quick getaway
We were looking for a relaxing vacation and this place was perfect. Grand Haven is a very cute little beach town. Everything at the house was very clean. Location was great.....several restaurants within 10-15 minutes walking and the beach and riverwalk about 20-25 minutes pushing a stroller. The beach toys, umbrella and cart were great to have. Had a great time and would definitely go back.

We had a great time. The tournament was canceled but we still came for the weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Very cozy, clean, and spacious. We wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to book again for next year.

Grand Haven is a beautiful little town on The Grand River/Lake Michigan. The house was in walking distance to everything. Our family of 8 adults fit comfortably. We would definitely stay again at the house.

Girls weekend
The house is awesome, everyone fell in love with the cute beach theme! It had all the amenities we needed and everyone had comfortable nights sleep! With too many blow dryers running at once we did blow a fuse but Brett was very helpful and came to replace the fuse right away when we contacted him which was great! One thing we did find is the refrigerator really did not keep our food very cold even after turning it to the coldest setting and was leaking water. It’s older and should probably be replaced soon. Otherwise the house was perfect, would absolutely come back!
