PLUS Great location, quiet street, central MINUS no heating, sometimes impractical

I travelled with my young daughter, we stayed for 3 nights to visit Athens and around. Location is great, at a side Plaka street from the main arteria. Despite all the traffic, very quiet street and apartment. Within short walking distance to Acropolis, Olympieio, Syntagma metro (to airport) and car rental agencies at Syggrou. Gardens accross the road. Supermarket AB 5 min walk. Very safe area also in the night. All this was key to us. Very nice kitchenette. Oak veneer, wow! There was a useful electric kettle and a toaster. I was surprised to find an oven, a washing maschine and a large fridge with freezer which can be useful for long stays (but was of no use to us). On the other hand I missed the breakfast kit: a few larger mugs, large tea pot, müsli bowls. That is somewhat strange as this apartment is so well equipped for long stays but lacks some fundaments for a continental breakfast. That is only a minor issue though. Bedroom is separate from the living room (with kitchenette) which is what we were looking for. So it was perfectly possible to work and read until late while my daughter was sleeping. The bed is a large matrimonial, very comfy mattrace. I would prefer to have the option of 2 separate duvets but that is a minor point. There are two large French windows in the living room and the bedroom so it is possible to let fresh air in.

The disturbing issue with this appartment was the fact that radiators were removed and thus there is no heating in case one arrives in the midst of the Athenian winter. (If you are from the UK, please stop reading here). When we arrived it was 8°C outside and perhaps 15-16°C inside. In a normal world the air-conditioner would be a quick fix but it seems to me that Greeks have never heard of the sorts of Daikin or Toshiba, so the majority of the AC park in Athens consists of inefficient Chinese wrecks. Well, it was also the case here and it took ages to heat the room albeit it was not large. Moreover both outdoor units are mounted on a side wall of the bedroom so you do not want to run the device when someone sleeps. If the weather were rainy, it would not have been a pleasant stay here since there would be nowhere to let the cloths dry. I suppose most of the year this is not an issue in Athens though. The bathroom looks nice, designed....but as it often happens, design was subordinated to practical life. The walk-in shower without a door produces water spill all around and so does the small designed washbasin. A floor rag/cloth urgently needed! There are also no hooks, nowhere. The shower head was of good quality and water pleasantly hot so that made the balance. The apartment does not have a nice view as the small balcony faces a narrow worn-down patio with an ugly concrete wall. On the other hand that is why it is so quiet.... So if you are looking for an Acropolis view, this is not the place. On the other hand, I prefer this rather that some of the shiny hotels on the busy roads where it is not possible to open a window at night due to the constant traffic noise. There was also one funny thing: the hanging lightbulbs over the bed. We could not find the switch (if exists at all?) so the fix was to unscrew them for night. The host is a "virtual", guiding the guest efficiently per SMS. Perhaps AI, who knows...?

Well designed apartment in a good Plaka location, mostly quiet, until near the end if our stay.

Balcony faces the a wall, bit grubby, no view. Wifi was dodgy for first two days, until reported and fixed. The kitchen is in the living room and has an electric hob and oven which make the main room very hot after cooking.

Great location, close to many restaurants and central staring point to discover Athens. Good communication with property management

Noisy neighbours can be disturbing. Don’t forget to push the button to have warm water. Balcony on apartment 2 is only useful for a smoke, not to relax in the evening after a long walk.

We had a great stay in no small measure because of this superb accomodation.

Breakfast was not included. The kitchen appliances worked very well not to mention there was a full compliment of kitchen ware. Everything worked very well. Very well furnished and maintained apartment with everything provided for a comfortable stay. A microwave would not have gone amiss , mind you.

A microwave would have been handy. There is nothing we did not like. It was an exceptional accomodation from all points of view. The location was brilliant straddled between syntagma square and Acropolis with national gardens across the road.

Sweet apartment in a lovely area

I loved the pristine white linen, the tidy complete kitchen, the washing machine and the double sofa bed. Perfect for 2 suze for 2 people. The location was safe and central 3 minutes from Acropolis. I didn't meet Nasos but he was extremely helpful with everything.

No dishwasher but otherwise perfect!

Great apartment in the heart of the town!

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spotless and the host was easy to contact through WhatsApp. We enjoyed being able to use the washing machine--this was appreciated. We slept well and loved the location of this apartment.

A few minor suggestions to enhance a guest's stay: if possible, greet your guests upon arrival. Provide coffee filters and coffee pot in order enjoy the coffee that was provided. Leave a welcome package for guests upon arrival. This little gesture helps set the tone of the stay and makes guests feel even more welcome. Finally, leaving a walking map of the area (paper copy) can be helpful ;)

Nearby Parthenon and other historical sites, shopping amenities and restaurants.

The apartment is located in walking distance to shops, restaurants and historical sites. Everything you require is in close proximity and takes away the stress of having to rent a car.

On searching the apartment name using Google maps it doesn't give our taxi a correct pinpoint. Owner needs to sort this out...the actual address is 10 DEDALOU for the correct building site and the correct road. The video guide was good to follow but needed further clear instructions about which level or room we were to go to. The spiral staircase is a hazard at night if coming down because no lights are on, pitch black!

balcony and laundry basket very off putting ! otherwise adequate

it was comfy and near Plaka and acropolis

previous dirty laundry had been left in a basket next to bathroom , otherwise very clean ! balcony wasn’t a balcony and shouldn’t be called a balcony ! it was more of a derelict grubby lift shaft for hanging washing ..... come on guys , don’t fool people by calling that a balcony !! once in the building , there was nothing to tell us which floor or which door ( out of three ! ) ... the door needs a label plz .....

A nicely appointed property in a great location. I would definitely go back again.

The location of the property is ideal for site seeing and close to restaurants and cafes.

No outdoor space of use but didn’t effect my stay as I was out most of the time and to be expected for an inner city property.

Great apartment, location, and host!

The host was great, very responsive and friendly. The host also coordinated an airport shuttle service which made our arrival easy and trip to the airport easy. The driver was great as well!

The lock to balcony door was broken, but the host called a repair person to address the issue.

Practical, impeccably clean, well-designed and well-equipped flat in perfect location. I cannot imagine a more comfortable place to visit the city, nor a more supportive, well-organised host: our communication was seamless, I received detailed guidelines concerning all the facilities a my disposal (the clarity of the instructions!) and even a film clip demonstrating how to open the lock box. The place felt a tiny bit smaller than I initially expected, but the perfect organisation of the space and high quality of all the equipments made it a truly luxurious experience. Plus the location in a quiet street a minute away from all the buzz and attraction of Plaka restaurants and shops and ten minutes away from Acropolis and most of the important museums cannot be overestimated. Sheer perfection. Thank you!

The apartment is tastefully decorated, like it appears in the pictures. Position is perfect, very central but also quiet. The staff was very kind and promptly answered to our questions.

The sofa bed is not comfortable (barely acceptable for 2 kids, definitely not for adults) as it seems broken on one side. The shower hanger was broken so we needed to make shower handling the shower head in our hands. Also bed linen was bit smaller compared to the size of the bed so the bottom sheet was not fully able to cover the matters, which is not very hygienic.

Very nice appartment in a great location, however no street view.

Perfect location - within 5 minutes you reach Hadrian Arch and plenty of Plaka restaurants. Even during the extreme heat apartment is keeps nice cool temperature. Very nice design - it looks like on the pictures. Spotless, very clean and well equipped. Very quiet.

While choosing accommodation in Athens we were taking into account also another location = similar price / similar standard / similar location / also very nice design. We have decided to choose this one as it offered also balcony. The other one didn't have it, but had view for the Acropolis. It appeared that the balcony in fact exist, but it looks like on the attached picture (only good for smokers - view for the wall). If this picture was presented in the offer on booking we would have chosen the other apartment with a view for Acropolis. It is impossible to close the left door to the balcony in the sleeping room, so in fact you leave you apartment open while leaving it.
