This is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The setting is superior to any five star hotel. The house itself is very well equipped and comfortable with a lovely shady seating area overlooking the lush garden. Humming birds in abundance! It’s just a short walk to two beautiful beaches and a lovely beach bar/restaurant. Regular buses pass the end of the drive. Wendy the housekeeper looked after us very well and can answer any queries you may have. Sam, the owner, is the loveliest lady. She is most thoughtful and kind and it was a joy to meet her. We have already recommended the property to family and when we return we wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else. Thank you Sam for sharing your beautiful property.

Our 5th trip to this lovely cottage and still special. A great place to stay with everything you need, including humming birds buzzing about. Opposite best beaches in Barbados, in my opinion, and very easy access to multiple restaurants, bars and locations.

The peacefulness and tranquility of the gardens and cottage bring us back. We spent most of our time outside under the covered patio enjoying all that Warawee offers.
Thank you to Wendy and Sam for looking after us. We had some lovely chats with Sam the owner who knows so much about Barbados past and present. As always Wendy took care of the cottage and us so well.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Warawee. The property is in the northwest, about half an hour north of the capital Bridgetown, with good access to the west coast beaches, but far enough from the bustle of Holetown and points farther south to be quiet and peaceful. The house itself was comfortable and suited our needs. The air-conditioning and fans worked well to keep things cool, the bed was comfortable, and the covered patio in the garden was a nice place to relax in the evening before or after dinner. The amenities (kitchen, bathroom, beach stuff) were modest but reasonable, and although the hot water in the shower was inconsistent, the consistently warm temperatures of Barbados made this a nonissue for us. Aside from the above, everything was terrific and easy, and the cottage and its location continued to grow on us over the course of our stay. There are some terrific restaurants within walking distance of Warawee (Sea Shed and Grandene's), and don't miss La Cabane farther down the coast. Overall this is a very pleasant place to stay and an excellent value.

We had the best time at Warawee! We loved the house, the books, the garden, the surroundings, the nearby beaches and restaurants and most of all of course Wendy. If you are looking for a perfect home away from home look no further. Just just found it!

The cottage is set in lovely, lush, thoughtfully planned gardens. We enjoyed sitting under the gazebo watching all the birds especially the hummingbirds. The cottage is very comfortable, well laid out, and spacious. We were well looked after by Wendy and had some lovely chats with her. Looking forward to our next visit.

We have just completed our 4th visit to Warawee and I am convinced it is the best location in Barbados. A quiet beautiful garden to relax with privacy but completely accessible to beaches, restaurants, bars and all Barbados has to offer. The cottage is perfect for 2 and you are always well looked after by Wendy. Thank you.

Beautiful oasis
Greeted by Sam on arrival and down round villa. Lovely 1 bed house in ground that is just perfect for a couple. Beautiful gardens and a pool that we can use. Also just 5 mins either way from Gibbes beach or Mullins beach.

Tropical Garden Paradise
My husband and I loved staying in this sweet cottage surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden. So peaceful. We were there for seven days and wish we could have stayed much longer. It felt like we had our own private retreat. The location is great. A 10 minute walk to the gorgeous Gibbs Beach and then about 10 minutes in the other direction to Adrian’s Corner beach bar on Mullins Beach for rum punch and music. Many thanks to Sam our host for a wonderful stay.
We hope to return again soon.

Lovely holiday
What a meditative, peaceful break! I travelled here on my own at the tail end of a family holiday gathering and found it the perfect retreat and respite. The garden is stunning, the simple cottage comfortable and attractive. Wendy is helpful and kind; Sam is the perfect hostess.

Lovely guesthouse
We had a terrific time at Warawee. Across the road from the beach but set back enough to avoid any noise, the gardens were idyllic, the pool lovely, and the house comfortable and safe. Wendy the housekeeper was extremely helpful. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly return.

Wonderful stay in Warawee!
Enjoyed an excellent 2 week stay close to Mullins and Gibbes beach on Barbados west coast. The villa had just about all we needed for our stay including wonderful care and attention by Janetta and Wendy. Speightstown 8-10 mins by bus or 20 mins pleasant fast walk. Excellent communication by Sam before and during our stay. Would recommend!

Pre Christmas Trip
Warawee was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. The garden is stunning, a wonderful place to sit and relax and watching the hummingbirds was a real treat. The pool was a very welcome way of cooling down.
It was a short walk to both Gibbs and Mullins beach. Gibbs was our favourite - very quiet and beautiful. I'd recommend a walk round to Reeds beach and lunch or sundowner at the Real Jamaican Jerk bar. The Sea Shed on Mullins beach is fabulous too.
Sam was very helpful before we headed out to Barbados and Wendy was great while we were there.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay - we thoroughly recommend it and hope to go back one day.
We really recommend Bike Caribbean - a great way to explore the island. We did a 3 hour ride on the East Coast, hilly but stunning scenery and views.

A wonderful place to stay
We were fortunate to travel with the resumption of Manchester flights and after 2 years away delighted to return to Barbados. We wanted a restful and relaxing holiday and this accommodation helped us achieve that.
Communication with the owner was excellent both before and during our stay.
The cottage is set in the most wonderful grounds and it was blissful to sit under the pergola early morning or early evening, watching the wildlife, in particular the hummingbirds that come very close.
The cottage had everything required for a complete self catering holiday. The bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning in the bedroom made sleeping easy. Husband was very pleased with the sports channels available on the TV. The pool was a godsend on hotter days to cool off.
The housekeeper Wendy was a diamond, very helpful, we loved her beautiful flower displays.
The location of the cottage is ideal, just a short safe walk to Gibbs beach, yet close to a main road for travelling by car or bus to Holetown or Speightstown.
We highly recommend this cottage, it completely met our expectations, it is excellent value for money, has everything we need in a holiday rental and we hope to return.

Lovely, quiet place
Warabee is a lovely cottage, tastefully decorated within some lovely gardens. Sam is a great host and everything we needed was available. The only one downside of our stay was that the pool was out of action. I would definitely recommend this place.

Wonderful Warawee holiday March 2020
We had a lovely but alas sadly shortened stay in Warawee due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The property description on Home Away does not do the property justice. The garden and grounds are beautiful, we particularly enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. The cottage was well laid out, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Sam, Wendy and taxi driver Patrick made us feel very welcome during our all too brief stay. The cottage could not be in a better location, a short walk to stunning beaches. We have vowed to return as soon as possible after the travel restrictions have been lifted. Thank you again for everything Sam.

Homely cottage in beautiful tropical gardens
It was our second stay and hopefully not our last with Sam in Warawee cottage. I think that sums it up.
The cottage is like a home from home. Fully equipped with everything you should need. It is set in the most beautiful gardens a stones throw from the main house yet very private.
The location is excellent for walking to the beaches a few minutes away and about a 20 minute walk to Speightstown along the sea front which is just gorgeous. Buses run frequently along the road nearby and are cheap.
Sam is a very welcoming host. A lovely lady who is very approachable and knowledgeable about the area with a great sense of humour.
Wendy, the housekeeper looked after us very well and kept the cottage spotless.
We look forward to returning.

3rd fantastic visit
Another great week at Warawee. The cottage is perfect for a tranquil stay in a beautiful setting whilst close to beaches, restaurants and amenities. One week is not sufficient and will leave you wishing for a longer visit, highly recommended.
Thank you Sam for enabling our visit and especially to Wendy for looking after us so well, as ever.

5 mins to best beach in Barbados
We have just returned from 2 very relaxing weeks at Warawee and can fully recommend it. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well kitted out for a couple to spend a great holiday in fantastic tropical surroundings. As the owner was away we had the luxury of the full gardens and brilliant pool area. We enjoyed many an hour lounging round the pool and having a dip to cool off while watching the hummingbirds or fireflies in the evening.
Wendy the housekeeper cleaned the house and changed the linens twice a week and ensured that we had everything we needed for a brilliant stay. She was on hand most days but located in the main house so we had our privacy.
We walked a few minutes to Gibbes beach most days and were grateful for the use of the little beach chairs and cool box for our Banks beers.
We hired a car so we could buzz about but the property is located on a bus route and they come along constantly until late so would consider not having a car next time. And yes - there will be a next time as it is difficult to find a better located cottage in beautiful gardens for the price.

A perfect and peaceful hideaway....
We spent a wonderful three weeks at Warawee, the villa is well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The place is light and airy with lovely breezes coming through the many windows. We were well looked after by Wendy, who as well as being a source of help and local information has a great sense of humour.
We chose not to hire a car for the first part of our stay and found the cottage was ideally situated with the beautiful Gibbs beach a short walk away, also it was easy to get further afield as buses either way along the coast road were frequent. (Definitely an experience not to be missed!)
One of the reasons we chose Warawee was the description 'a delightful garden villa' and it certainly was. The garden is just beautiful, we enjoyed many hours relaxing or eating out under the gazebo, watching birds and lizards with occasional sightings of green monkeys.
We have spent several holidays in Barbados but this was the most relaxing and tranquil. A lovely place in a great location, Sam has got it spot on and we hope to return again soon.

Fantastic !
This was a wonderful holiday retreat.:
Well equipped , gorgeous garden surroundings, peace and quiet, great security.
Wendy was so helpful and friendly..... dealt with every issue ( hardly any ! ).
Near the nicest beach in the nicest parish of Barbados.
So easy to walk to "the back way ", without having to risk our lives on the busy road !
Cannot wait to return......we have found our haven of rest and relaxation.

Lovely Lovely place to stay - fantastic garden and help on site every day.
We have just spent 2 weeks at Warawee. The cottage was simply delightful, and a very good size more than big enough for 2. The garden is stunning - very well set out and lush pictures do not do it justice. There is everything you want for a comfortable stay in the cottage. It is tastefully furnished and the bed was comfortable. There is no air conditioning but there are fans and a through breeze and a large extra fan in the bedroom as well as the ceiling fans, it all worked well for us. The house and gardens are looked after by the lovely friendly Wendy who was a fount of all knowledge, she made us welcome on arrival and looked after us throughout our stay. We were able to use the lovely pool when we stayed which was nice at the end of a day for a swim. We found we could go out of the back gate and walk through a quiet residential area for about 5 mins to Gibbs Beach which is quiet and has good snorkelling at one end. There are no sun beds but a combination of the supplied beach towels and little beach chairs was all that was needed. There are trees for shade. Going out the front gate it is also only 5 or so minutes if that to Mullins Beach which seems to have got narrower since our last visit. You can hire sun beds and Umbrellas it is busier, the famous Mullins Beach Bar is no more but if you want to splash out you can spend quite a lot for a day pass to the Royal Westmoreland Beach Club on the Beach day pass, but we did not bother as we preferred Gibbs . If you don't want to hire a car it is no problem, the cottage is well situated for the bus stop with frequent buses into Hole Town one way or Speights Town the other way. Although during the day we walked to Speights Town which was maybe 20 minutes. In the evening there is easy walk to a nice restaurant Bombas - or a more adventurous but still doable walk to The Outback (bring a torch) but it is just as easy to hop on a bus. There are a range of places to eat in varying price brackets in both Hole Town and Speights Town and you will no doubt find your own favourite, Zaccios was reasonable and on the Beach but for a special meal Tides is fantastic. We did not try it but understand the Lone Star is also great for a special meal. Supermarkets in Hole Town and Speights Town have everything you want . We loved our stay we do know Barbados and this area so we just chilled while we were here and it was all perfect thanks Sam and Wendy

2nd visit, another fantastic week
It feels a privilege to sit in this stunning tropical garden and watch the hummingbird busying itself on the flowers - our second visit to Warawee was just as lovely as the first. The cottage is ideal for a relaxed visit and is well furnished and very comfortable, has easy access to the beach and is a short distance from several restaurants. The marine reserve at Folkestone is fantastic for snorkling and the coral looked in very good condition this year.
Wendy, once again, made us welcome and looked after us extremely well. Thank you.

Fantastic in every way. An absolutely wonderful place. You'll be missing out if you don't go.
You must book this property, before it gets booked up... we're definitely going to go back asap... The location, layout, gardens and facilities at the property were all 1st class, pictures are unable to do any justice to the reality when you arrive. Wendy is an absolute diamond and always happy to help. There is absolutely nothing negative to say in anyway whatsoever. You will not be disappointed, you'll only be stunned, every day you're there!!! The beach is only minutes away with quiet sandy beaches and some of the best snorkeling location I've been to in 15 years (head to the south end of Gibbs beach and head out from just before the walkway around the bay). My wife worried about the lack of aircon, but we will never go back to using aircon again... we were able to acclimatise within a day or so, and then had so much more energy than when we've had aircon before (all 15 years of going) as we weren't having to re-acclimatise every day. After staying near Holetown for 15 years we found Gibbs much more of the old local friendly feel to it and only went into Holetown once. We had dinner at Wanda's Beach Bar (15mins walk south along highway1 or the beach) it was the best food we've ever had on the island, with a wonderful welcoming atmosphere and local prices, right on the beach. She does a fantastic lunch, but If you want to have dinner you have to book, but you HAVE TO GO, it is seriously the best food on the island at prices that will leave you shocked (cheap). Speightstown has everything you need and you can get the Jordans supermarket van to give you a lift home with you shopping, no charge just a donation of your choice. Plenty of bars and restaurants too... you'll not be disappointed. We will be coming back... See you soon Wendy, from Dan and Tara.

Fantastic, welcoming accommodation
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Warawee and will certainly be returning. The accommodation has everything you need and is well situated for Gibbes and Mullins beaches. We used local buses to travel to Holetown and Speightstown allowing us to travel further afield.
Sam and Wendy were both on hand to provide valuable information on things to see and do. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you.

Wonderful Warrawee
We have just returned from a great holiday at Warrawee.
The villa is situated in a wonderfully private & tranquil garden with many different birds and the occasional green monkeys visiting.
It is very clean and well equipped with Wendy, the housekeeper coming in twice a week to clean and change towels and bedding. Wendy is excellent and always on hand to answer any questions or to have a friendly chat with.
Sam, the owner of the property was in the main house during our stay and is a very friendly and charming lady. She made us extremely welcome and we found her knowledge of the island very helpful.
We were glad we used the taxi service recommended to us by Sam, as Patrick was there to meet us at the airport and took us directly to Warrawee, which despite knowing the area, we would have struggled to find in the dark.
If you are seeking a peaceful holiday in a wonderful location, with the beach only a short walk away, Warrawee will be ideal for you.
Sincere thanks to Sam and Wendy for making our holiday so special.

Delightful Villa.
My husband and I absolutely loved this beautiful villa, it was perfect for two, located in the most delightful tranquil setting just minutes from the beach. The villa itself is very well appointed with absolutely everything you might need for a prolonged stay. We will certainly be booking again when we return to Barbados.

The perfect location
Barbados does not disappoint and this delightful cottage is no exception. A stones throw from Gibbes bay, which is the best kept secret in Barbados, the location is wonderfully quiet but central for west coast amenities. The cottage is set in the most beautiful tropical garden and is shared by a resident humming bird, other garden birds brimming with character and the occasional green monkey. The cottage is the ideal size for a couple and the new wooden canopy will definitely become your outdoor living room and favourite reading spot. Last but by no means least, Wendy, will look after you superbly.

Great House and location
The House was great and the location If you want to be close the the beaches. Easy to take the buses to holetown, sptown or bridgetown. No internet in the House, only outside. Sam kind of pressured us into accepting to have his driver Patrick Pick us up from the AirPort for 45 USD which he said was standard fare, but the fixed prices from the AirPort to Gibbs area are only 31 USD, and he also said the House was diffecault to find, but right at the main Road and would have been no problem. There is also buses directly from the AirPort going every half hour directly to the House.
